Madonna Drops Dress You Up Remix, Dedicates It To Barbie Designers Killed In Italy Crash

Last Updated: Madonna dedicated the Dress You Up remix to Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, two designers who created custom Barbie dolls. Madonna is celebrating the 40th anniversary of Dress You Up, originally released on July 31, 1985. The hit track was the last single from her popular album Like a Virgin. To honour this special day, the song has been re-released as a digital single with three versions, a remix edit, a 12 inch formal mix and a casual instrumental mix. Madonna dedicated the latest release to Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, two designers who created custom Barbie dolls, including some inspired by Madonna herself. Sadly, they passed away in a car accident in Italy just days before the anniversary. Honouring Two Creative Souls As per People, 'With the tragic news this week of the passing of the doll designers and Madonna superfans Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, we dedicate this release to them. Thank you for dressing up so many of your creations in Madonna's iconic looks over the years." Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, who were both partners in work and life, lost their lives in a road accident in Italy. According to Sky TG24, the crash happened when an 82-year-old man, Egidio Ceriano, drove in the wrong direction on the A4 Turin-Milan highway. Reports suggest that he was driving on the wrong side for a long time before the accident happened. The crash occurred between Novara Est and Marcallo Mesero, near the border of Piedmont and Lombardy. Ceriano also died in the accident. Following the accident, Barbie paid tribute to the late couple on Instagram and wrote, 'The Barbie team is heartbroken by the loss of Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi, two treasured creators and Mattel collaborators who brought joy and artistry to the world of Barbie as Magia2000. As passionate and talented designers and lifelong collectors, their spirit and love for the brand turned every creation they touched into a masterpiece. Beyond their remarkable talent, they shared an energy that lit up every space they entered." 'Whether leading the Italian Doll Convention in Milan or showcasing their talents and love for Barbie at doll shows all over the world, their presence brought warmth, laughter, and a sense of belonging. Their generosity was boundless, creating countless dolls to be auctioned to benefit charities close to fellow collectors' hearts. Barbie is better because they loved the brand, and our beloved collector community is richer for having known them and shared in their passion. Barbie honors their memory with deep gratitude," the team added. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Barbie (@barbie) Mario Paglino and Gianni Grossi started Magia2000 in 1999, which went on to become well known for designing custom Barbie dolls. Five most iconic designer-muse relationships of all time

A muse in fashion is like a designer's secret weapon; their style, vibe and energy spark the creativity behind the designs we see on the runway. These partnerships are personal, inspiring, and sometimes, even a little magical. Muses - whether models, actors, or musicians - help shape trends, define campaigns, and deliver some of fashion's most memorable looks. Hubert de Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn Hubert de Givenchy and Audrey Hepburn created fashion magic together, with Hepburn calling his designs "the only clothes in which I am myself." Their bond gave us unforgettable moments, like the iconic black dress in Breakfast at Tiffany's, reflecting how truly special their relationship was. Gianni Versace and Naomi Campbell Naomi Campbell's 1995 Met Gala look in Versace is an iconic moment in fashion history. The jaw-dropping silver dress, made from sparkly fabric, shimmered like a Barbie dream, perfectly showcasing Naomi's fierce presence and Versace's glamorous design. It remains one of the most spectacular and memorable fashion moments ever. Gianni Versace was assassinated in July 1997, a loss that hit Campbell deeply. Speaking to the New York Post, she said, 'He would push me to step outside and go further when I didn't think I had it in me. So when he died, my grief turned very bad." Jean Paul Gaultier and Madonna This collaboration revolutionised Madonna's style and solidified her as a fashion icon. For her 1990 Blonde Ambition Tour, Gaultier designed the now-iconic cone bra, a bold tribute to Madonna's rock-and-roll yet sensual persona. Their partnership pushed boundaries, with Gaultier creating unforgettable looks for Like a Virgin and Vogue music videos, now easily certified in the fashion hall of fame. Bob Mackie and Cher This list would be incomplete without what is arguably the most impactful designer-muse relationship of all time: Bob Mackie and Cher. Mackie, known for his flamboyant and daring designs, became Cher's go-to designer, creating the extravagant costumes that defined the singer's stage persona. One of their most iconic moments was Cher's 1975 Met Gala appearance, where she wore a sheer nude feathered gown. At the time, the 'naked dress' was the first of its kind and extremely controversial. However, naked dresses are now a staple of red carpet fashion, even Kim Kardashian referenced this Cher look at the 2019 Met Gala. Princess Diana and Catherine Walker Catherine Walker was one of Princess Diana's most trusted designers, known for creating elegant and timeless pieces that perfectly reflected the royal's sophisticated style. Walker crafted many of Diana's iconic outfits, including the famous 'Elvis dress'. The snow-white beaded dress and bolero, hand-embroidered with 28,600 pearls, featured a crisp, tall collar, earning it the "Elvis dress", dubbed so by Diana herself. Interestingly, Walker's designs have come full circle, as they are now a favourite of Diana's daughter-in-law, The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton.

Anthony Ramos says Madonna lit up entire theatre with iPad during Hamilton performance on Broadway, Entertainment News

Anthony Ramos says Madonna lit up the whole theatre with her iPad during a performance of Hamilton on Broadway. The 33-year-old actor originated the dual roles of John Laurens and Philip Hamilton in the Broadway show and is among a group of Hamilton actors to speak out on Madonna's alleged behaviour in the audience. Appearing on Bravo's Watch What Happens Live on Thursday (June 19), Ramos said: "The most terrifying was Madonna with her iPad in her face. She was like this [shining a light] the whole time. "I was like, 'Damn, shorty. If you're not enjoying it that much, you know the door is right there. You don't have to stay here.'" Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the musical who played Alexander Hamilton, also appeared to call out The Queen of Pop in a since-deleted post on Twitter in April 2015. He penned at the time: "Tonight was the first time I asked stage management not to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage. #noselfieforyou." However, the Like a Virgin hitmaker's publicist rubbished the claim, telling Us Weekly: "It's not true. She was invited backstage four different times. She texted post show when they were doing their fundraising pitch. Madonna had already made a generous donation." Jonathan Groff, who starred as King George, also fumed "that b**** was on her phone." He said at the time: "You couldn't miss it from the stage. "It was a black void of the audience in front of us and her face there perfectly lit by the light of her iPhone through three-quarters of the show." [[nid:712771]]
