Oasis guitarist leaves fans in stitches with just one word as he hits back at setlist comment

Paul Arthurs, known as Bonehead to Oasis fans, has left fans in stitches after he began replying to comments made on X about Noel and Liam Gallagher's Heaton Park setlist A hilarious reply from Bonehead, the rhythm guitarist from Oasis, has left fans in stitches. The one-word response to a query on X was shared to the r/Oasis Reddit page, where fans praised the founding member. Bonehead began his time with the Manchester band in 1991, leaving in 1999, and has since returned for the Live '25 tour dates. ‌ Following a series of sold out performances at Heaton Park in Manchester, Bonehead took to X and replied to a handful of Oasis fans. But not everyone was full of praise for the show, with a comment made in reply to the legendary guitarist. Bonehead's reply has left fans howling. ‌ ‌ Sharing a screenshot of the back and forth to Reddit, fans were left laughing at the one-word reply Bonehead gave a fan. Bonehead, real name Paul Arthurs, wrote: "It's gettin' better man." A reply to his post reads: "Same setlist as every other night." Bonehead then replied: "And????" Fans have said the post highlights the lighter side to the long-serving guitarist, who joined Liam and Noel Gallagher for the reunion shows this year. One fan wrote: "Setlist is almost perfect. Why change it." Another replied: "Agreed! Only thing that would make it better is Columbia." ‌ A third user posted: "If they change the setlist, people will get mad when they don't get to hear their favourite song, and rightfully so. Keeping the same setlist throughout the tour is fair to everyone." Other dedicated fans suggested changing the setlist at such an early point in the tour would make little sense. Oasis has played the same set each night, delighting fans with a series of their best-known hits. Some have suggested the lack of setlist changes means it is fairer for people going to just one show on the tour. A user wrote: "Not many going to multiple nights around the world tour, who gives a f**k if the set list is the same." ‌ Another added; "They are back together after 16 years, their heyday was 1994-1998, they are capitalising on the time they were everywhere. I'm not sure if a lot of people understand how big they were at that time." Other fans, who agreed with Bonehead's disregard for the need to change up the setlist, said Oasis were never known for changing up their setlist on previous tours. ‌ One user wrote: "Oasis were never, ever renowned for mixing up the set much (or even playing many songs). Look at the Be Here Now tour (although I noticed recently they played MBM on the first or second night then not again." Another added: "Honestly the only potential for change that I'd like to see is rotating a few songs in the Bring It On Down and Fade Away slots. Maybe a pool of songs including Columbia, Lyla, SCYHO, Go Let It Out, Hindu Times, maybe Shock of the Lightning." A third has suggested Noel's four song section could see a few more changes for the setlist. They wrote: "Its a great setlist overall. Some swaping an rotation for variation would be just fun and cool. "Add Importance Of Being Idle into the first batch of Noel Songs (Talk Tonight, Half The World Away, Little By Little), and play 3 out of the 4 every night."

#SHOWBIZ: Asean countries form joint film production network

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia is set to lead efforts to develop the Southeast Asian film industry through the inaugural Asean Film and TV Summit, which was launched yesterday. Deputy Communications Minister, Teo Nie Ching, said that the summit's primary objective is to build collaborative productions among filmmakers from Asean countries. "This three-day summit aims for the establishment of co-productions amongst filmmakers from Asean, a region with a large market and an estimated population of 600 million," she said. "We will discuss filmmaking ideas, innovations, and infrastructure to boost the film industries of Asean countries." Teo was speaking at the summit's opening ceremony, held at GSC MyTown Mall in Cheras. The event is being held in conjunction with the 8th Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) and is supported by the National Film Development Corporation (Finas), the Asian Film Alliance Network (AFAN), and the Malaysian Youth Council (MBM). Teo expressed confidence that the summit would lead to the creation of an action plan to strengthen film collaborations between Asean countries. "Although Malaysia has signed co-production agreements with several countries, we do not yet have a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Asean level," she said. The launch was also attended by MIFFest founder Joanne Goh, Finas Chief Executive Officer Datuk Azmir Saifuddin Mutalib, AFAN Secretary-General Lorna Tee, and MBM Vice President Dhanesh Basil. Azmir stated that the event aims to create various new projects through training and collaboration, providing an opportunity for local stories to penetrate the international market. "I hope we all take the opportunity to explore new ideas, get to know new collaborators, and engage in discussions. This event is an opportunity for us to collectively shape the future of ASEAN cinema," he said.

MBM Refutes Youth Minister's Claim On Youth Age Cap Of 30 Years

The Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) has clarified its stance on the implementation of the youth age cap of 30 years, refuting the Youth and Sports Minister's claim that the council made a 'U-turn' on its position. In a strongly worded statement, MBM said the Minister's remarks during the July 22 parliamentary session, in response to a question raised by the Member of Parliament for Kuching, were inaccurate and failed to reflect the realities faced by thousands of youth organisations nationwide. 'From the outset, MBM has advocated that any restructuring of youth leadership under the Youth Societies and Youth Development Act 2007 (Act 668) must be done in phases, strategically, and with dedicated funding to minimise disruption at the grassroots level,' said MBM president Mohd Izzat Afifi Abdul Hamid. He also disputed the Minister's claim in Parliament that MBM had received RM1.5 million in transitional funding from the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS), describing it as misleading. According to MBM, no specific funds have been allocated for youth leadership transition programmes. Instead, MBM receives only administrative and 'Rakan Muda' programme funding focused on youth lifestyle initiatives. 'The RM1.5 million referenced is part of a special allocation from the Prime Minister, taken from the RM3 million announced for national youth leadership transition programmes,' Izzat explained. The council also raised concerns about the lack of consistent engagement on the issue. It noted that the Joint MBM–KBS Youth Age Cap Transition Committee had only convened twice — in February 2023 and September 2024 — with no further follow-up discussions since. MBM reiterated that its appeal to revisit the January 1, 2026 deadline for full implementation of the youth age limit was not an attempt to reject the policy outright, but to ensure organisational stability and the continued development of young leaders. 'Without a comprehensive transition mechanism, there is a serious risk to the continuity of leadership, programme execution, and the financial sustainability of youth organisations. Our call is for a well-structured roadmap, not resistance to reform,' said Izzat. The council urged the government to resume discussions and prioritise a collaborative approach to implementing the age cap policy that supports, rather than destabilises, the youth development ecosystem. PM Says Govt Weighing Matter With Regard To Nick Adam Appointment

Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government is weighing the matter accordingly on the potential appointment of Nick Adams as the US ambassador to Malaysia. Recently, the Malaysian Youth Council expressed concerns over the nomination Nick Adams as the next ambassador to Malaysia, calling on Putrajaya to reject his appointment. It argued that Adams's public persona and rhetoric are incompatible with Malaysia's principled foreign policy and could jeopardise the longstanding bilateral relationship between the two nations. In a statement, MBM highlighted Adams's alleged consistent propagation of 'provocative and divisive rhetoric' that, according to the council, 'vilifies international calls for justice, dismisses human rights advocacy, and equates legitimate expressions of solidarity with extremism.' It cited Adams's public statements, which they described as 'widely regarded as anti-Palestinian and openly supportive of acts of aggression that many in the international community have characterised as war crimes and genocide.' The council stated that such views are 'morally indefensible' and risk normalising violence against civilians, thereby undermining shared global principles of justice, peace, and humanity. 'Malaysia's foreign policy has always stood firmly in defence of human dignity, the rule of law, and multilateralism,' the statement read. 'Mr. Adams's statements, including those that ridicule or distort the pursuit of these principles, are not in line with the values we uphold and are unsuitable for an official envoy to our country.' Youth Council Supports Rights To Protest Against Corruption

Malaysian Youth Council (MBM) President Mohd Izzat Afifi Hj Abdul Hamid has urged authorities to take firmer and more transparent action against corruption, while affirming support for the students who organised the recent Gempur Rasuah Sabah 2.0 protest. He welcomed the Prime Minister's directive not to take disciplinary action against Universiti Malaysia Sabah students who staged the demonstration. He said this decision reflects the value of ihsan as outlined in the Malaysia Madani vision. However, he questioned the Royal Malaysia Police's decision to investigate the students under the Sedition Act 1948, saying it contradicts the Prime Minister's guidance. While condemning the act of burning a photograph of the Prime Minister during the protest, he stressed that such actions should not overshadow the protest's underlying message. The students had voiced their rejection of corruption, power abuse and poor governance. He acknowledged the courage of the students and said their concerns reflect the younger generation's deep care for integrity in government. He urged the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to act more decisively and fairly, especially in high-profile cases. According to him, the fight against corruption must be consistent and impartial to restore public trust. Citing Transparency International's 2024 Corruption Perceptions Index, which gave Malaysia a score of 50 and placed the country 57th out of 180 nations, he said this was a clear sign that stronger national action was needed. He called for a 'whole-of-nation' approach and said MBM was ready to act as a bridge between students and agencies like MACC. He also offered MBM's support in organising engagement sessions and policy discussions that involve student voices. He concluded that the fight against corruption must be guided by wisdom, responsibility and courage for the sake of a clean and just Malaysia. 'For truth and justice,' he said. Related
