Investment week for Moroccans abroad kicks off at Regional Investment Centers
To mark the National Day of Moroccans Living Abroad, celebrated annually on August 10, the Ministry of Investment, Convergence, and Evaluation of Public Policies is launching a dedicated week for Moroccans around the world (MDM) across all twelve Regional Investment Centers (CRIs). The initiative will run from August 11 to 15, in line with royal directives emphasizing the importance of engaging the Moroccan diaspora by recognizing their expertise, encouraging investment, strengthening their ties to Morocco, and supporting their full contribution to national economic development, according to a press release. As part of this effort, the Regional Investment Center of the Marrakech-Safi region, like its counterparts across the country, is preparing to welcome Moroccans from abroad with investment projects. «In addition to the year-round support already available, a dedicated team will be on hand each day from August 11 to 15, between 11:00 AM and 12:30 PM, to present regional investment opportunities, explain incentives under the new Investment Charter, and assist in structuring high-potential projects», the center told Yabiladi. This initiative complements the new Investment Charter, which aims to boost regional attractiveness by simplifying procedures and promoting productive investment. It also aligns with the ongoing Marhaba 2025 operation, which has seen record numbers of Moroccans returning home this summer. In this context, the Investment Week for Moroccans around the world is part of a broader, integrated program to welcome members of the diaspora. The program includes interactive sessions, territorial investment briefings, and showcases of regional project banks. Direct meetings will also provide a platform for addressing questions from Moroccans living abroad.

Informatica has announced the Summer 2025 release of its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform. The new AI-powered data management capabilities are designed to simplify and enhance enterprise-wide access to AI-ready data. The release introduces new features across data integration, governance, quality, master data management and iPaaS. According to Kelle Fontenot, Chief Digital Officer at KPMG, 'AI and digital transformation are imperative to business growth, but these efforts are only as strong as the data behind them. Whether it's building a report or utilizing the most advanced Generative AI model, access to trusted data is critical to ensure accurate and reliable outcomes.' Among the highlights is an upgraded Master Data Management (MDM) suite, which now offers advanced enrichment and governance features. New tools such as CLAIRE Match Analysis and Explainability provide greater transparency into how records are matched, allow business users to fine-tune rules without IT intervention, and incorporate supervised learning to improve accuracy over time. An Enrichment and Validation Orchestrator automates workflows by connecting Informatica services and third-party sources, while a new Cloud Data Governance and Catalog scanner integrates seamlessly with MDM to improve auditability and reduce data silos. For enhanced data integration, Informatica has introduced Elastic Runtime Orchestration in tech preview, enabling customers to run high-volume workflows on AWS without managing infrastructure, and expanded its CLAIRE Copilot for data integration, now generally available with interactive Q&A functionality. The platform has also broadened its connectivity to include Delta tables in Microsoft Fabric, open table formats like Apache Iceberg, and log-based CDC for SAP HANA. Also announced were enhancements to the company's iPaaS offering, which include support for Model Context Protocol servers to help AI agents and large language models access IDMC assets more effectively, alongside new connectors for NVIDIA NIM, Databricks Mosaic AI and Snowflake Cortex AI. A new Recipe Marketplace enables users to share reusable workflow templates spanning both AI and business automation use cases. To strengthen governance, Informatica has launched an AI Governance Inventory within IDMC to catalog and track AI models, datasets and approvals, alongside real-time data quality checks via REST APIs and AI-powered lineage discovery to accelerate deployment and modernization efforts. Baby P's mum is high risk if she is freed from prison and allowed to see children, experts have warned as Tracey Connelly launches a fresh bid for freedom. The now 43-year-old's toddler son Peter was 17-months-old when he died in 2007. Over an eight-month period, the tragic tot had suffered more than 50 injuries The Mirror reports she is now launching a fresh bid for freedom just months after being thrown back in jail for breaching the conditions of her licence. Connelly herself does not even support a full unconditional release back into the public, the Parole Board will be told. A judgement was published ordering that a two-day parole hearing is heard in public. In it, the Parole Board said: 'In the current psychological risk assessment, it is assessed that her risk of violence remains low. Ms Connelly, in interview, has stated that she will not be seeking unconditional release due to the support she would lose." Connelly was jailed at the Old Bailey in 2009 for causing or allowing the death of Peter. She was released on licence in 2013 before being recalled for breaching parole conditions by selling nude snaps online in 2015. Connelly – who had parole bids in 2015, 2017 and 2019 rejected – was then freed on licence in July 2022. She was hauled back to jail in September for flouting the conditions of her release while living at a bail hostel. It was not clear how she breached her licence but she was placed on curfew and had to disclose relationships. Connelly's internet and phone use was also monitored and she was barred from certain places. She had reinvented herself on a WeightWatchers forum as a woman named Connie. In documents, it is claimed she suffers PTSD and was subjected to 'bullying and aggression' after her recall to prison. Her solicitor fought for the upcoming parole hearing to be held in private. The report states: 'He submits that a public hearing will only exacerbate these issues." He also stated he believes that "will have a significant and detrimental effect upon Ms Connelly's ability to give effective and accurate evidence at the hearing.' But the Parole Board decided the hearing would be public. Peter – initially referred to in news reports as Baby P – suffered 50 injuries, including a broken back and fractured ribs, at his home in Tottenham, North London. Article continues below The trial detailed missed opportunities to save Peter, and the way his mother stood by. Connelly, stepdad Steven Barker and Barker's brother Jason Owen were jailed over his death.
