Lokman Yeung slammed for poster resembling 2022 concert tragedy
24 Jul – It's been nearly three years since the tragic MIRROR incident at the Hong Kong Coliseum, but the tragedy is still fresh in people's minds. Which is why MIRROR's group leader Lokman Yeung drew flak from netizens, after he and the group's agency decided to release a poster of his new song that seemed to trigger people's memory of the incident. Lokman, who was promoting his new single, "FLY", posted the promotional poster that depicted him in mid-air, holding up what looks like a falling large screen while being suspended. Netizens quickly drew parallels to the 2022 MIRROR concert incident, where one of MIRROR's dancers Mo was seriously injured after an LCD screen unexpectedly collapsed on top of him. Netizens lambasted the poster design as insensitive, with some accusing MIRROR's management, Makerville, of being "heartless." On the other hand, some fans defended Lokman and the team, saying that it was only meant to show him doing a handstand, but that the image was flipped. In response to the backlash, MIRROR's team deleted the original post and reuploaded a new version featuring only the same text but a different image. It now shows Lokman standing atop a glowing platform. (Photo Source: MIRROR IG, On CC, MP Weekly)
