Wimbledon: Ben Shelton requested for extra time off for his ‘lucky charm' sister in his on-court interview, Morgan Stanley obliged
When you make a request for your sister to get a few days off, at a stage as grand as Court 1 at Wimbledon, chances are that the powers-that-be would hear it. USA's rising tennis star Ben Shelton, cheekily enough, must have been aware of what he was doing when he name-dropped his sister Emma Shelton after his third-round win on Saturday. 'I've been playing well this week. It's not just been me here. I have a great team. My parents are here. My girlfriend's here. Also, my sister's here. She's been here for every match that I've played this tournament so far. She's been the lucky charm,' said the 10th-seeded Shelton, a 22-year-old American who has appeared in two Grand Slam semifinals. 'But she has work back in the U.S., starting on Monday. She works for Morgan Stanley.' That drew some boos from spectators as Emma covered her face with her hands. If any of you all have some connects and get her a couple extra days off so she can stay, we can keep this rolling.' The camera panned to Emma in Ben's box in the stands, and she covered her face with her hands. There were a few boos heard around from the Court No 1 crowd too, who were enjoying the freewheeling interview from Ben. Turns out, Emma had nothing to worry about as she is set to stay back in London. In an Instagram story posted by Shelton on Saturday, Ben is heard asking her, 'You got the week off or what?' Emma jumps up and down with her arms raised and a wide smile, and as the camera pans back to him, Ben says, 'Shoutout, Morgan Stanley.' Emma re-shared the Instagram story with an added caption that read: 'Thank you MS, return flight: cancelled.' After his 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory over Marton Fucsovics of Hungary on Saturday, Ben Shelton is set for a stiff Italian test on Monday in the fourth round against Italy's Lorenzo Sonego. In a fascinating coincidence, the odds of which must be pretty high mathematically in a field of 128 players of the main draw at a Major, Shelton and Sonego will face each other for the third straight Grand Slam this year. Shelton won both the previous encounters, in four sets at the Australian Open quarterfinal and five sets at Roland Garros in the opening round. While Shelton is yet to drop a set at SW19 this week, Sonego has taken the scenic route, coming through a five-hour, four-minute epic against another American Brandon Nakashima 6-7(5), 7-6(8), 7-6(2), 3-6, 7-6(10-3). While Shelton's request for his sister to get extra days off from Morgan Stanley worked, his hope of playing at Center Court did not. 'I had a lot of fun today. It is always special playing here at Wimbledon,' Shelton had said. 'This is my third time playing on Court 1. It is a special atmosphere. I am trying to make my way to Centre, Court, maybe I will get there one day.' But it won't happen on Monday, as he has been scheduled to play on Court No 1 once again. He played his first two matches on Court No 2. However, if the lucky charm keeps working and Shelton's form holds, the Center Court beckons soon.

Ben Shelton's Hilarious Public Plea For Sister's Extended Time Off Work Pays Off: WATCH
Last Updated: Ben Shelton reached the fourth round of Wimbledon and asked for extra days off for his sister Emma, who works at Morgan Stanley. She got the time off to support him. Ben Shelton turned to the Wimbledon crowd—and possibly some well-placed connections—with a cheeky yet heartfelt plea to help keep his sister in London a little longer. Well, it worked. After securing a spot in the fourth round of Wimbledon, where he is set to face Italy's Lorenzo Sonego on Monday, Shelton used his post-match interview to shine a spotlight on the support he's received throughout the tournament—from his family and his girlfriend, U.S. soccer star Trinity Rodman, to his sister Emma, who works at Morgan Stanley. Ben Shelton is really trying to get his sister a couple of extra days off work! 😂 #Wimbledon — Wimbledon (@Wimbledon) July 5, 2025 'I've been playing well this week. It's not just been me here. I have a great team. My parents are here. My girlfriend's here. Also, my sister's here. She's been here for every match that I've played this tournament so far. She's been the lucky charm," said Shelton, the 10th seed and 22-year-old American who has already reached two Grand Slam semifinals. 'But she has work back in the U.S., starting on Monday. She works for Morgan Stanley." The crowd responded with playful boos when Shelton mentioned Emma's impending return to work. She covered her face with her hands, clearly embarrassed—but also smiling. 'If any of you all have some [connections] and can get her a couple extra days off so she can [stay and] we can keep this rolling," Shelton said, following his 6-3, 7-6 (4), 6-2 victory over Hungary's Marton Fucsovics on Saturday, 'that'd be great." Just hours after the match, Emma shared a celebratory Instagram video. In the clip, Ben can be heard asking, 'You got the week off or what?" Emma responds by jumping up and down with joy, arms in the air and a big grin on her face. 'Shoutout, Morgan Stanley," Ben says off-camera. Emma captioned the video: 'thank you MS 💙💙💙 return flight: cancelled." Shelton has yet to drop a set at this year's Wimbledon, winning all nine he's played so far. He previously faced Sonego in the Australian Open quarterfinals in January and will look to repeat that success as the tournament continues at the All England Club.

ChatGPT Solves 10-Year Medical Mystery After Doctors Fail To Diagnose Condition
Last Updated: The user shared their experience, detailing how they suffered from several unexplained symptoms despite undergoing comprehensive medical tests. A Reddit post has gone viral after a user claimed that ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI, helped solve a decade-long health mystery. The post also mentioned that the health mystery had stumped multiple doctors, experts, and even neurologists for over a decade. Titled 'ChatGPT solved a 10+ year problem no doctors could figure out," the user, @Adventurous-Gold6935, shared their experience, detailing how they suffered from several unexplained symptoms despite undergoing comprehensive medical tests. 'For 10+ years I have had several unexplained symptoms. I had a spinal MRI, CT Scan, blood work (in-depth), everything up to even checking for Lyme disease," read the post. The Reddit user had consulted several specialists, including a neurologist, and received treatment at one of the country's top-ranked healthcare networks. But no specific diagnosis was ever made. 'I did function health (free plug I guess) and turns out I have the homozygous A1298C MTHFR mutation which affects 7-12% of the population. I'm in the states an my doctor network is one of the top-ranked in the nation. I even saw a neurologist at one point and checked for MS," the post read. The turning point occurred when the user entered their whole symptom history and lab data into the AI chatbot. 'ChatGPT took all my lab results and symptom history and concluded this was on par with the mutation. Despite seemingly normal B12 levels, turns out that with the mutation it may not be utilising them correctly so you need to boost it with supplementation," it added. The user then consulted their doctor with the AI-generated insights, and the doctor was 'super shocked". 'Ran these findings by my doctor and he was super shocked and said this all added up to him. Not sure how they didn't think to test me for MTHFR mutation," the user wrote. After starting treatment, the user reported a dramatic improvement in their condition. 'Anyways, here we are a few months later and my symptoms are largely resolved. Actually perplexed, and excited, at how this all went down up until now," the Redditor concluded. The user has issued a cautionary note, emphasising the importance of verifying AI-generated advice with medical professionals. 'Didn't expect this to get so much attention. Will reiterate and emphasise that I double-checked the AI suggestion with my primary care provider before trying its suggestions. Please do not trust it all the time for medical advice," it read. The post has received nearly 7,000 upvotes and sparked widespread discussion on the social media platform. A user wrote, 'We had a similar experience with our dog. He was struggling to breathe and the vet we took him to said we should probably say goodbye. Fed the symptoms into ChatGPT and suggested we find an ER that handles heart issues. Got him on oxygen, recorded talks with Vet with Otter, fed those transcripts and X-rays into ChatGPT etc." 'My sister was diagnosed by ChatGPT with a rare genetic blood disorder after over a decade of doctors and naturopaths telling her it was all in her head," added another. In a recent incident, ChatGPT helped an American woman to pay off her credit card debt. Jennifer Allan, a realtor and content creator living in the US' Delaware, has reportedly used the chatbot to pay off her $23,000 debt. First Published: July 06, 2025, 09:30 IST

CM visits DHQ Hospital Pakpattan, takes action against MS
LAHORE: 'It is not the shortage of doctors and nurses, but the lack of sense of service,' said Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif during her visit to DHQ Hospital Pakpattan to inspect various wards, stores and labs of the hospital. The CM rejected an attempt to cover up the facts by MS and other responsible persons, and took a strong action against CO Health Pakpattan Dr Sohail Asghar and MS DHQ Hospital Pakpattan Dr Adnan Ghaffar for their criminal negligence in the discharge of official duties. She directed to arrest them and got a case registered against them in this regard. The CM visited patients in different wards and inquired about their condition one by one. She also interacted with the patients and their families, sitting in the waiting room of the hospital, and inquired them about the supply of medicines and availability of treatment facilities. Patients and their families piled up complaints of mismanagement and negligence in the hospital. They also complained about bringing medicines from outside. The chief minister said, 'Despite the presence of medicines in store, they are being ordered from outside by colluding with the pharmacy. We are giving Rs 100 billion for medicines, then why are the people not getting them free?' She also got angry over no announcement for free medicines in the hospital. She highlighted, 'If you try, you can find out the situation quite easily, it has come to light in a round of the hospital.' She strictly reprimanded for not getting medicine despite being available in store, and directed to implement Code Red and Code Blue system in government hospitals. The chief minister said, '90% of patients in DHQ are complaining about ordering medicines from outside. The necessary machinery and equipment are packed and not used. They are brought from outside.' Maryam Nawaz Sharif got furious and asked the relevant authorities with a heavy heart, 'Do people come to hospitals to die?' She directed them to take effective decisions on all inquiries within a week, and said, 'New MS from Sahiwal should be posted to DHQ Hospital Pakpattan.' The chief minister got offended over the use of AC in offices, but not in wards for the patients. She got three private labs sealed for their collusion with Pakpattan hospital staff, and got three lab technicians from a private lab dismissed for colluding with the hospital staff. She also directed to arrest the owner and in-charge of the parking company on the complaints of overcharging Rs 50 and Rs 100 as parking fee from patients and their families, and directed to relieve DC Pakpattan of charges. Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed measures to ban the use of mobile phones by doctors and paramedical staff during duty in hospitals, and directed to implement pager system instead for communication in hospitals. She said, 'Strong decisions are necessary to make those responsible realize.' Earlier an inquiry report into the hospital affairs was presented, which said, 'MS DHQ Hospital Pakpattan has failed to fulfill his administrative responsibility.' It added, 'The hospital consultants are not giving adequate time to patients.' It detailed, 'Equipment required in the hospital is in the store, but has not been used. The reason for delay in the treatment of patients is the indifference of consultants, doctors and staff. Specialist doctors do not conduct rounds. Pedan incubators are present but not functional.' The inquiry report highlighted, 'Health Care Commission rules and regulations are not being followed completely in DHQ Hospital Pakpattan.' It added, 'Emergency protocols for patients are not observed in DHQ Hospital, and its critical staff is not trained either.' Copyright Business Recorder, 2025

Hospital MS, CEO held on CM's order
The chief executive officer of Pakpattan district health authority and medical superintendent of DHQ hospital were arrested for criminal negligence on Friday after patients and attendants complained to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif during her surprise visit to the healthcare facility about mismanagement, negligence and lack of basic facilities. The chief minister inspected various wards of the district headquarters hospital and interacted with patients and their families. According to an official statement, the patients and attendants voiced serious complaints about mismanagement, negligence and lack of basic facilities. Despite the availability of medicines in the hospital store, patients were reportedly being forced to buy them from outside due to collusion between the pharmacy and external suppliers. The MS and other officials attempted to conceal the facts, as per the statement. In light of the findings of an inquiry, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz took immediate and strict action. First information reports (FIRs) were registered against Pakpattan District Health Authority CEO Dr Sohail Asghar and DHQ Hospital MS Dr Adnan Ghaffar for criminal negligence and both were taken into custody by the police. A new MS from Sahiwal was appointed to head the hospital. Following complaints of overcharging for parking, the CM ordered the arrest of the contractor and in-charge. Due to collusion with private laboratories, three technicians were dismissed and three labs sealed. The Pakpattan deputy commissioner was also ordered to relinquish the charge immediately. The chief minister ordered a complete audit of the hospital equipment. Patients lodged a barrage of complaints regarding being forced to purchase medicines from outside, despite the hospital store having adequate stock. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed strong displeasure over the fact that air conditioners were functioning in administrative offices and not in the wards. On the occasion, the chief minister ordered the implementation of the Code Red and Blue emergency response systems in all government hospitals across Punjab. She directed the authorities concerned to take strict measures to ban the use of mobile phones by doctors and paramedical staff during duty hours for ensuring uninterrupted patient care. The chief minister ordered the introduction of a pager system to enhance internal communication in the hospitals. She ordered that all ongoing inquiries related to negligence and mismanagement in public sector hospitals should be concluded within one week. The chief minister inspected various hospital wards, medicine store and the laboratory. She enquired from patients about their condition and treatment. She also asked the patients and their attendants in the hospital's waiting area about the availability of medicines and the quality of treatment. Despite medicines being available in the hospital's medical store, patients complained that prescriptions were being written in a way that forced them to purchase medicines from pharmacies outside the premises. Expressing frustration, the chief minister remarked, "We are allocating Rs100 billion for medicines then why are the people not receiving them?" She was particularly angered by the absence of public notices about the availability of free medication in the hospital. She added, "All it takes is a single round to witness the ground reality. Ninety per cent of patients here are complaining that they are forced to buy medicines externally." CM Maryam Nawaz noted that vital equipment and machinery were lying packed in storage, unused and uninstalled. She criticised the lack of commitment, stating that those who refused to work in hospitals and public institutions were the real culprits of the nation. There was no shortage of doctors and nurses, only a lack of empathy, she asserted. She said, "Weapons aren't the only tools of murder, negligence can be deadly too." According to the inquiry report, the medical superintendent of the hospital had failed to fulfil his administrative responsibilities. Consultant doctors were not giving sufficient time to patient care. Necessary equipment was available in the store but had not been made functional. It revealed that delays in treatment were primarily caused by indifference shown by consultants, doctors and the staff. Specialist doctors did not conduct night rounds. Paediatric incubators were present but non-functional.
