Liam Gallagher's emotional five-word welcome to Edinburgh crowd at second Murrayfield gig

The Gallaghers have now played two out of three of their Edinburgh reunion gigs. Oasis have now performed two out of three of their reunion gigs in Edinburgh, which kicked off at Murrayfield Stadium on Friday, August 8. And at last night's gig, Saturday, August 9, Liam Gallagher delivered a heart-felt five-word message to the crowd of 70,000. ‌ As the Gallagher brothers kicked off their concert with hit track Hello, Liam soon acknowledged the sea of adoring fans, saying: "We have missed you too" before the Britpop rockers performed Acquiesce to the sold-out stadium. Cheers and applause flooded in from the fans following the emotional remark, reported Edinburgh Live. ‌ Fans were overjoyed to see the formerly feuding brothers come together on stage, even holding hands and giving each other hugs throughout the performance. This run of Edinburgh gigs marks the first time Oasis have played Murrayfield since 2009, when they played the Scots stage just months before their infamous split up that would see them estranged for some 15 years. ‌ And emotions were high all round over the weekend, as Noel Gallagher even shared a sweet moment with a young fan who was holding a sign saying 'Oasis saved me' at Friday's gig. The teenage Oasis devotee was moved to tears after concert-goers helped push her to the front of the crowd. ‌ Jessica, from south west Scotland, had secured a prime spot at the barrier for the show, and her handmade sign caught the attention of Noel and his bandmate Bonehead. The 17-year-old fan revealed the groups' music had 'saved her life' during difficult struggles with her mental health. ‌ Jessica, who never believed she would see Oasis perform live, said she felt like her entire existence had been 'leading up to this moment'. She told the Manchester Evening News: "Oasis is my favourite band and has been for a very long time. When their reunion was announced I was so happy, I got tickets in the presale and started a little countdown to my gig. ‌ "My whole life was building up to me seeing them. "My mam had bought me a little blanket/flag and said I should take it and I decided to paint on it saying how much Oasis means to me and hope I got to a barrier to show them. "I was third row for most of the gig but the people in front of me were so kind and let me to the barrier to hang my sign over it during the encore. I was sobbing - like I had been for most of the gig - and during The Masterplan I saw Noel look over. ‌ "He had to tilt his head because I was very far on his left and there were cameras and speakers in the way and my flag was tilted a bit to the side and difficult to read. "He saw and smiled at it and occasionally looked over through the rest of the songs." Paul Arthurs - Bonehead - also spotted the sign, and later replied to Jessica on X, writing: "I saw your flag too and I'm glad [I] did, you carry on and hold your head high. We're right behind you." 22 Kids and Counting fans say the same thing over heartwarming baby news

22 Kids and Counting viewers will see The Radfords welcome a new arrival into the family on Sunday's instalment of the Channel 5 show. It appears there's a fresh addition to the Radford clan making their Channel 5 debut this weekend. ‌ On Sunday evening, fans of the hit programme 22 Kids and Counting will witness Chloe Radford, who marked a significant milestone this weekend, delivering her second child. ‌ Yet, prior to the newest addition to the brood, a sneak peek for the episode on Channel 5's X account reveals that Chloe endured a frightening experience beforehand. ‌ Rushed to triage, Chloe is spotted with her father Noel in the vehicle, describing how it doesn't feel like the baby is moving despite her attempts to encourage some movement. Following an emergency scan, audiences discover that the infant was perfectly fine after medics detected his heartbeat on the monitor, reports Manchester Evening News. ‌ Discussing the harrowing experience, her partner Jake admitted he was in a state of panic as she responded: "Just an awful feeling, awful." Subsequently in the teaser, it depicted her at home with her daughter Mila after heeding her mum Sue's advice about taking things easier. The footage then switches to Sue at home with her family as she receives a text message confirming Chloe has delivered. ‌ Radiating joy, she announces to everyone: "Oh, got a text, he's here! Oh my gosh. He said, 'She did great, bless her, he was really fast. So he's not said any weight or anything." Noel remarked: "He's here, safe and well, all good!" ‌ As the family took turns guessing the weight of their latest arrival, the scene shifted to Chloe and Jamie bringing their newborn son Bodhi back from hospital. She revealed: "Feel good, yeah, feel really good. I'm just glad it's over with and he's here and he's safe. We're going to go home and get settled into a family life of four. I can't actually believe it." ‌ With Channel 5 sharing the preview on their social media accounts, it wasn't long before people commented on the clip. One person said: "Bless, congratulations." Another commented: "Gorgeous family. So much love. Congratulations xxx." While another wrote: "Such a beautiful family."

British dad suffered two symptoms before dying from 'half cooked hotel chicken'

A British grandad has died after falling ill from eating 'half cooked' chicken at a luxury hotel in Fuerteventura. His wife is urging others to be aware of the signs as she shares her heartbreak A British dad suffered two major symptoms before he died from eating"half cooked" chicken at a luxury hotel resort, an inquest has heard. ‌ Leslie Green, 70, passed away after contracting salmonella during his holiday at the Occidental Jandia Playa resort in Fuerteventura. The grandfather-of-one was celebrating his milestone birthday with his family when he fell ill during the second week of the £2,300 stay. ‌ He was admitted to a Spanish hospital where he developed complications, including kidney failure and sepsis. Leslie, of Little Lever, Bolton, Greater Manchester, sadly died in hospital around four weeks later from multi-organ failure. ‌ An inquest has now determined that the man passed away from food poisoning he contracted as a result of eating partially cooked chicken on holiday. Leslie, a retired newspaper delivery driver for the Manchester Evening News, fell ill on October 9 last year with symptoms including diarrhoea, which led to dehydration. Julie, Leslie's wife of 38 years, said the couple had concerns a carbonara sauce they ate one day was lukewarm while she found her chicken undercooked during another meal. She also claimed she didn't see any staff washing their hands and newly cooked food would be mixed with food that had been stood. ‌ She was also left seriously ill after she too got salmonella on the day of her 60th birthday and spent a week in hospital. Julie said she and Leslie had only eaten from the buffet in the hotel during their holiday. The hearing at Rochdale Coroner's Court concluded Leslie died of multi-organ failure as a result of sepsis, caused by salmonella. After the hearing, Julie said: "It's almost impossible to find the words to describe the last few months and trying to come to terms with Leslie's death. ‌ "Leslie was such a loving and caring husband and dad. He was my best friend and life without him will never be the same. I still struggle to comprehend how we went on holiday, but Leslie didn't come home. Leslie was the head of our family and someone everyone looked to for help and guidance." "There's now a gaping hole in our family that can never be filled. I'd do anything not to be in this position and for Leslie to be in our lives, but I know that's not possible. "Listening to the evidence has been difficult but it was something I was determined to do to honour Leslie's memory. I just hope that by speaking out I can prevent anyone else suffering like Leslie did. I wouldn't wish that on anyone." Leslie, who had turned 70 in July 2024 and was placed in an induced coma after falling ill, died hours after his life-support machine was switched off on November 4. His body was repatriated a week later. The Occidental Jandia Playa was approached for comment. Salmonellosis develops after ingesting salmonella bacteria, and symptoms usually take between 12 and 72 hours to develop. Seven main signs of food poisoning: Diarrhoea Stomach cramps Vomiting Fever High temperature Aches and pains Generally feeling unwell

'I sold my face to AI for £1,500 - now I'm terrified I'm trapped in a nightmare'

Lucy was approached with the opportunity to become an AI model just like the celebrities she'd seen on her social media feed. But the easy money soon spiralled into a living nightmare When Lucy* was approached with a message on Instagram about becoming an AI model, she was immediately intrigued. The 23-year-old had noticed stars like Kendall Jenner creating their own AI avatars and fancied giving it a whirl. The AI start-up behind the offer dangled a carrot of £1,500, which to Lucy seemed like easy money and a fascinating venture – so she inked the deal without further counsel. However, Lucy didn't grasp that she had effectively relinquished her rights over her image for life in paid adverts. Now bound by a legal agreement, she's faced with the possibility of her likeness being hawked to endorse products or causes unbeknownst to her. It comes after a warning everyone using Android must restart their phones now as 'critical' warning issued. "It was just an initial DM reach out from a scout wanting to use me for an AI model," Lucy recounted to the Manchester Evening News. "The money is mostly what attracted me. I guess I also found it interesting the whole concept of being an AI model as I've seen celebrities do the same thing in the past on social media so I thought it would be fun to try it myself too." Lucy concedes she signed a complex contract that she now recognises she didn't fully comprehend – a pact that required her to provide numerous video clips to develop her AI model, reports the Manchester Evening News. For more stories like this subscribe to our weekly newsletter, The Weekly Gulp, for a curated roundup of trending stories, poignant interviews, and viral lifestyle picks from The Mirror's Audience U35 team delivered straight to your inbox. "The contract in a nutshell says I can't accept money for brand endorsements," she said. "So if I ever wanted to be a user generated content creator, I can't do that – something I realised actually when we filmed the documentary." She has become the focus of a fresh documentary shot in and around Manchester examining the growing phenomenon of AI models within the user generated content sector. The 20-minute film, created by documentary maker and producer Sam Tullen, delves into the emergence of AI creators. "I remember being on an AI website and just seeing pages upon pages of faces, each capable of reading any script you fed into the site," Sam told the M.E.N. "I was interested to try it out and was mind blown. "I researched further into it and learned that a lot of the AI models on offer across various websites are actually modelled using real people. From that moment, I knew I had to bring attention to it." He explained that whilst Lucy's predicament isn't widespread, it 'could be very soon'. "I think some people are scared that AI companies will take their image from the web without permission anyway so I can see why some may be more accepting of lowball offers. "Lucy now faces the issue of her face being used to say or promote things without her knowledge." He hopes his documentary 'I sold my face to AI for £1,500' will help highlight awareness surrounding these significant technological developments, and the dangers they might present. "We wanted to release this programme online so it can reach global audiences in the hopes it would spark discussion about this issue," she stated. "With the technology advancing faster than the laws surrounding it, there does need to be more awareness, and I hope this doc contributes in some way to that conversation." *Names have been changed to protect anonymity.
