Reneé Rapp's Superstar Moment Has Arrived
Reneé Rapp has gone from an exciting, talented newcomer in several entertainment fields to a certified superstar in just a few years. The singer and actress first made herself known in the TV series The Sex Lives of College Girls before starring as Regina George in the musical film adaptation of Mean Girls. In between projects, Rapp has managed a music career, which has taken off spectacularly. Her fanbase is global, but in the United Kingdom, it seems especially strong, as that's where her new album Bite Me earns its most impressive starting points. Bite Me Launches at No. 1 on Several Charts Bite Me opens on six tallies in the U.K. this week, and it leads many of them. Rapp debuts her sophomore full-length at No. 1 on the Official Albums chart, the ranking of the most consumed projects in the country. The title also begins its time in first place on the Official Album Sales, Official Physical Albums, and Official Vinyl Albums rankings. Reneé Rapp Reaches the Top 10 Bite Me is a top 10 win on every tally on which it appears in the U.K. at the moment. As it leads four lists, it also launches in fifth place on the Official Album Downloads chart and at No. 10 on the ranking of the most streamed collections. Bite Me Follows Snow Angel Bite Me arrives almost exactly two years after Snow Angel, her debut full-length. That project was also a top 10 success in the U.K., as it stalled at No. 7 on the main ranking of the biggest titles. 'Leave Me Alone' Introduced Bite Me Bite Me was fronted by several singles which arrived before the album dropped in full, with 'Leave Me Alone' kicking things off and introducing the new rock sound the set was centered around. That tune reached No. 69 on the main songs tally in the U.K., earning Rapp only her second appearance on the list. She also made the 100-spot roster that measures the most consumed songs in the U.K. with 'Not My Fault,' a collaboration with Megan Thee Stallion, which was created specifically for Mean Girls.

Alyson Stoner was 'terrified' of Demi Lovato's team during 'Camp Rock' substance abuse
Disney alum Alyson Stoner is opening up about their friendship with Demi Lovato during her 'Camp Rock'-era substance abuse issues. Stoner's memoir 'Semi-Well-Adjusted Despite Literally Everything' delves into the dark reality of child fame, including glossy movie sets contrasting a tumultuous home life, stalkers and an eating disorder that landed them in rehab. In Lovato's 'Child Star' documentary, Lovato recalled Stoner was the first to approach her about her eating disorder. In Stoner's memoir, they recall the same moment, describing the 'rare' moment of 'real transparency with a peer in the industry.' Lovato, in turn, nudged Stoner about their harmful exercise regimen, asking if they could 'support each other.' But in the throes of their separate eating disorders and other mental health struggles, neither knew how to help the other. Stoner felt 'terrified' of Demi Lovato's team amid substance abuse Stoner writes Lovato and them had an 'instant rapport like childhood buddies' when they were paired together during 'Camp Rock' auditions. But when the Jonas Brothers took the rest of the 'Camp Rock' cast on tour, Lovato spiraled into 'reckless partying,' substance abuse and self-harm and Stoner grew resentful. Stoner writes Lovato's team appointed 20 sober companions to monitor her, but 'she outwitted every one of them.' Now, Stoner writes they have more context given what they know about Lovato's bipolar disorder, bulimia, depression and other mental health struggles. But at the time, Stoner referred to Lovato's "Regina George" behavior (referencing the popular bully in "Mean Girls") as a 'chasm in our once kindred connection.' 'To get through the tour, the entire crew bent the knee, accepting that at any moment we could be open targets for her to externalize her pain,' Stoner writes. 'At 16, being forced to submit to her power plays was confusing. She verbally lashed out behind the curtain, and then we'd walk onstage for a sound check meet-and-greet and publicly kiss her crown.' USA TODAY has reached out to Lovato's team for comment. Stoner also writes Lovato punched a touring back-up dancer because she thought they snitched on her for doing drugs. After that, the 'Hollywood machine went into overdrive,' Stoner writes, to cover for Lovato. When Lovato went into rehab, Stoner and the cast received death threats from her fans. 'For several years, I felt suffocated under the weight of Demi's power and terrified of her PR team, the extreme remarks from her fanbase and the way mass media gave a fabricated identity a life of its own,' Stoner writes. Demi Lovato apologized to Alyson Stoner ahead of 'Child Star' documentary The castmates didn't speak for 14 years, not until Lovato's team reached out asking if Stoner wanted to participate in 'Child Star,' the documentary Lovato was directing. Stoner requested the pair meet over a preliminary phone call to 'gauge Demi's intentions.' Lovato apologized, and Stoner got a better understanding of the underlying issues exacerbating her behavior during the 'Camp Rock' tour. Now, with their shared advocacy against the dark side of child stardom, both Stoner and Lovato are focused on helping new generations. ‘Now is the perfect time for the sequel': Lindsay Lohan on reprising her role in Freakier Friday
For millennials, there are a few hallmark films that have helped shape a generation, Freaky Friday being one of them. The 2003 family classic, starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, tells the iconic story of a mother and her teenage daughter who swap bodies for one chaotic, event-filled weekday. Now, 22 years later, the cast has reunited for a sequel titled Freakier Friday, revisiting the film's themes from a very different stage in life. The story picks up with Lohan's character, Anna, now a mother to a teenage daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepmother. In the sequel, Anna's daughter Harper, played by Julia Butters and her soon-to-be stepdaughter Lily Davies, portrayed by Sophia Hammons, join Anna and her mother Tess in a wild, quadruple body swap. 'I think now is the perfect time for the sequel because it's believable that Anna could be a young mom,' says Lohan, 39. 'It makes sense. We've had time to give space for Anna and allow this relationship to evolve in different ways.' Lohan, who was 16 when she first starred in Freaky Friday, is now a mother herself. She says her real-life experience of parenthood has helped her connect more deeply with her character. 'Now I'm a mom, so I can relate to Anna more in the life that she's living.' Lohan, who rose to fame in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap and later starred in Mean Girls, says she was thrilled to reunite with Curtis on set. 'It's fantastic working with her. She brings such a light and energy that just radiates, it's fantastic to be around,' she says. 'Every moment has been a memory I'll cherish, especially with Jamie. We've grown not only as co-stars, but as friends, which is very special to me.' Oscar-winner Curtis echoes Lohan's enthusiasm. 'I got to celebrate her having a baby and all of the beautiful things that go along with her being a mom,' says Curtis. 'I've been able to participate in that, but I hadn't physically seen her, held her, or hugged her in quite a long time. It was really fun to be reminded of that lovely relationship we have.' Curtis, who won an Academy Award for Everything Everywhere All At Once, says the sequel is rooted in themes of empathy and connection. 'It's about mothers and daughters, grandmothers and granddaughters,' she says. 'It's about love, understanding, compassion, and empathy, realising through a body switch how hard life is for other people.' 'It's the universal story of seeing the world through somebody else's eyes. Life is hard for people, and we often take it for granted because, for many of us, life is pretty smooth and easy.' Other returning cast members include One Tree Hill's Chad Michael Murray, reprising his role as Anna's former love interest Jake, and NCIS actor Mark Harmon, returning as Tess's husband Ryan. Chad Michael Murray as Jake in Disney's Freakier Friday. When asked about stepping back into Jake's shoes, Murray says they had to figure out how his character would realistically fit into the updated story. 'It's a house of cards, you move one piece and the whole thing kind of crashes down with four people switching bodies. So we had to be really careful and deliberate with the choices we made,' says the 43-year-old actor. 'I went straight into analytics mode. We had to flesh out who Jake has been over the last 22 years. What's he been up to? Where's he gone? What's the funniest choice here? And that's where we went. Then it just became exciting from there.' Joining the cast for the sequel is The Good Place star Manny Jacinto, who plays Eric Reyes, Anna's fiancé and Lily's father. As a newcomer to the cast, the 37-year-old actor says he welcomed Lohan's experience and natural ease in the role. 'You can tell that she knows this world really well and this character really well,' he says. 'Once the cameras start rolling, she's Anna. I really appreciated that about her. She's super professional, fun to be with, and caring. She's a pro.' When asked about building a bond with Hammons, who plays his on-screen daughter, Jacinto shares how the team worked to establish their connection. 'We had a rehearsal process beforehand to get together and figure out a relationship, what happened to her mom, my previous wife. All credit to Nisha Ganatra (the director) for bringing us together to create that bond.' 'But also,' he adds, 'it's not hard to care for Sophia, because she's such a lovely human being.' Also joining the cast are Butters, who rose to fame in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood and Up Here star Hammons, who portray the teenage daughters at the centre of the film's multi-generational body swap. 'Harper's relationship with her mom is definitely one that I think almost every teenager can relate to,' says Butters, 16. 'You can have your misunderstandings, but at the end of the day, you're family.' Though their characters start off as rivals, Butters and Hammons formed an instant kinship on set. 'Instantly, we were just laughing,' says Hammons, 18. 'Nisha told us she could hear us from across the hall. It's so refreshing to meet people you click with, and she's one of those people.' Despite the adversarial nature of their characters, the actors say their real-life friendship made the experience fun. 'It's OK to jab at each other because we know we don't actually hate each other,' Hammons says. 'It's nice knowing that.' 'This movie is about family and change,' adds Lohan. 'We always experience changes in life. You never really know how that's going to go but at the end of the day, it's always going to be about your family. As long as your family is there for you, you can get through any change.' Freakier Fridayis in cinemas now.

'Mean Girls'' Jonathan Bennett Reveals Husband's Rare Health Condition: ‘Impossible for Him to Eat Without Throwing Up'
Jaymes Vaughan tearfully enjoyed his first meal after undergoing a procedure to correct a Schatzki ring, a medical condition that can cause vomiting and painNEED TO KNOW Mean Girls alum Jonathan Bennett shared his husband Jaymes Vaughan's emotional first meal after undergoing a procedure to correct a medical condition that caused pain and vomiting when he ate Vaughan had been struggling with a Schatzki ring, and offered to share details of his diagnosis with a commenter who was experiencing the same struggle Bennett said that it had been 'impossible for him to eat without throwing up for almost his entire adult life'Mean Girls alum Jonathan Bennett shared a video showing his husband Jaymes Vaughan's first meal after ongoing a procedure to correct his Schatzki ring — a painful condition that made him vomit when he ate. 'Oh my God, babe. Is this what it's like when you eat and it goes down?' Jaymes Vaughan, 42, asked over an omelette and hash browns, in a video Bennett, 44, posted on Aug 10. 'I'm emotional … I'm eating!' Vaughan said, laughing through the tears. As Bennett explained in the caption, Vaughan had been struggling with a Schatzki ring. It's an extra band of tissue that forms on the inside of the esophagus, per the Cleveland Clinic. It can cause sharp, burning pain, make it hard to swallow food, and 'your esophagus may become so narrow that food can't pass through it to your stomach.' Bennett wrote that this meal 'is the first time over the over 3,400 meals I've sat across from him where I didn't feel like he was fighting for his life just to get through it.' The Schatzki ring, he wrote, 'made it impossible for him to eat without throwing up for almost his entire adult life.' Treatment, the Cleveland Clinic explains, involves stretching the band of tissue. If it grows back, follow-up procedures can be performed. 'Sharing this in case it could help someone who has this condition but didn't know about it for 20 years like my husband,' Bennett wrote. 'Talk to your doctor and ask questions, you never know how much it can help your life.' Before the procedure, Vaughan said it felt like a "volcano," explaining he used to have to leave dinners to go vomit, as he shared in a later stitch of his husband's video on Aug.11. There was an outpouring of support in comments — from fans and celebrities alike. 'Wow! I had no idea you were going through that. I'm so happy for you! 🙏' Danica McKellar commented. Bennett's costar in the Hallmark+ movie The Groomsmen, B.J. Britt, chimed in, saying 'So happy for you.' When another commenter wrote that they 'go through the same issue almost every single day' Vaughan shared how his condition was diagnosed — 'an esophagram with a barium swallow' — and offered to help. 'I really hope you can get it fixed too! DM me if you want me to fill you in on more,' he wrote.
