'Want To Be Close To My Kids, But Nina Wouldn't Let Me...': Russian Woman's Israeli Husband
Last Updated: Nina Kutina revealed that an Israeli man is the father of her daughters. Dror Goldstein, the husband, said that he wants "shared custody" of the daughters. The Israeli husband of the Russian woman who was found with her two daughters living in the Gokarna cave, has said that he wants to 'be close to" the children; however, Nina Kutina 'wouldn't let me spend time with them". Dror Goldstein, the Israeli businessman, claimed that he has been visiting India for the last four years to meet his daughters, but Nina 'made it really hard". Nina and her two daughters were found living in Karnataka's Gokarna cave and were rescued by the police on July 9. They are currently in the detention centre in Bengaluru. She earlier told the officials that an Israeli man was the father of her two kids – Prema, 6, and Ama, 5 – and one of the babies was born in a Goa cave, The Indian Express had reported. Goldstein told NDTV that he first met Nina in Goa nearly eight years ago and fell in love with her. He said that the couple spent seven months together in India and more time in Ukraine. He said that Nina left Goa 'without informing me" a few months ago. 'I didn't know where they were," he said, adding that he had lodged a missing complaint and then found them living in Gokarna. 'I came there to see my daughters, to see how they are. She wouldn't let me spend time with them, only a little bit; she made it really hard," he told the broadcaster. 'My wish is to be close to my two daughters. I demand shared custody. I want to be able to meet them, to be close to them, and to be a father. That's all," he told news agency PTI. VIDEO | Karnataka: A Russian woman and her two children were found living in Gokarna cave. Here's what Israeli citizen, Dror Goldstein, father of the two girls, said, demanding their custody.'My wish is to be close to my two daughters. I demand shared custody. I want to be… — Press Trust of India (@PTI_News) July 16, 2025 He further claimed that he had been sending 'a good amount of money" to Nina every month, and she has 'everything they need". He also spoke about the reports of their deportation and said that he would do everything possible to prevent the government from sending them back to Russia. The Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) reportedly got in touch with the Israeli man after Nina told authorities about him being the father of the two girls. Their deportation to Russia would take nearly a month due to formalities. However, Nina said that she delivered all her children herself 'without hospitals or doctors". 'My children were all born in different places. I delivered all of them myself, without hospitals or doctors, because I know how to do it. No one helped me, I did it alone," PTI quoted her as saying. According to a New York Times report, she came to India several years ago with her two sons and a daughter. Her eldest son passed away at 21, and the whereabouts of the other son are unknown. According to officials, her business visa to India expired in 2017, but she overstayed since then. 'First, there were multiple personal losses – not just the death of my son, but also a few other close people. We were constantly dealing with grief, paperwork, and other problems," she told PTI. view comments First Published: July 16, 2025, 15:05 IST Disclaimer: Comments reflect users' views, not News18's. "Satyajit Ray Wanted To Use Pics Of Bangladesh Home But...": Son Sandip Ray To NDTV
Satyajit Ray's ancestral home in Bangladesh - formerly used as the Mymensingh Shishu Academy - is being demolished by the Bangladesh government to build a new semi-concrete structure. After the news came to light, the Government of India extended its co-operation to the Bangladesh Government to repair and restore the ancestral property. NDTV reached out to filmmaker Sandip Ray [Satyajit Ray's son] and asked him to share his fond memories of the house. "I have never been to Bangladesh to see this building; neither did Baba [Satyajit Ray]. What I saw were the pictures of the building. But I remember Baba wanted to use the pictures of this building when he was working on the Sukumar Ray documentary," Sandip Ray tells NDTV. "A close associate, who used to look after Baba's production, was sent to Bangladesh to click some pictures of this building. But Baba was very disheartened to see the building in a dilapidated state. He, then, decided that he wouldn't use those pictures in his documentary," Ray adds. The century-old house, located on Harikishore Ray Chowdhury Road in Mymensingh, is an emblem of the legacy of the illustrious Ray family. Referring to its heritage and contributions to the Bengal's cutural renaissance, the Government of India said, "It would be preferable to reconsider the demolition and examine options for its repair and reconstruction as a museum of literature and a symbol of the shared culture of India and Bangladesh." The statement added, "The Government of India would be willing to extend cooperation for this purpose." Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee appealed to the Mohammad Yunus government in Bangladesh to take steps to preserve the ancestral property. "News reports reveal that in Bangladesh's Mymensingh city, the ancestral home of Satyajit Ray's grandfather, the renowned writer-editor Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury, steeped in his memories, is reportedly being demolished. It is said that the demolition work had already begun. This news is extremely distressing. The Ray family is one of the foremost bearers and carriers of Bengali culture", Banerjee wrote on X. খবরে প্রকাশ যে, বাংলাদেশের ময়মনসিংহ শহরে সত্যজিৎ রায়ের ঠাকুরদা, স্বয়ং স্বনামধন্য সাহিত্যিক-সম্পাদক উপেন্দ্রকিশোর রায়চৌধুরীর স্মৃতিজড়িত তাঁদের পৈতৃক বাড়িটি নাকি ভেঙে ফেলা হচ্ছে। ভাঙার কাজ শুরু হয়ে গিয়েছিল বলে খবর প্রকাশিত। এই সংবাদ অত্যন্ত দুঃখের। রায় পরিবার বাংলার… — Mamata Banerjee (@MamataOfficial) July 15, 2025 Asked about the demolition, Md Mehedi Zaman, Mymensingh's district children affairs officer, said the decision to demolish the house was made by a committee led by the district's Deputy Commissioner Mofidul Alam, as per a report by The Daily Star. Citing the risk factors for children, the official said, "The house had been abandoned for 10 years, and Shishu Academy activities have been running from a rented space," adding, that the new semi-concrete building with several rooms will be built to resume academy activities.
