Sephora shoppers say £30 scent is 'perfect for summer'
'I sprayed this perfume and did a whole workout and swam in the ocean and the scent was still there. I couldn't believe how long this lasted.' Sephora shoppers are raving over a 'perfect summer scent' that's available for £30. Candied Lychee by The 7 Virtues has been praised for its sweet and floral take on the fruity note that fragrance fans are loving. It opens up with a bright lychee note before settling into a floral heart of peony and rounding out with crystal amber and vanilla in the base. Lychee, vanilla and peony also make appearances in cult classic Delina by Parfums de Marly (£165 for 30ml), although Delina is said to be more powdery. Lychee has been quite a popular note in recent years, with Kayali's Eden Sparkling Lychee (£73 for 50ml) being a fast favourite. As the name suggests lychee is the star of the scent although other fruits and violet flowers make an appearance. Candied Lychee has pulled in an impressive 448 perfect five-star reviews, with one shopper saying: "This is a beautiful fragrance. It smells like a fresh lychee—sweet and a bit floral. I think it will be a perfect summer scent for me." A second penned: "I sprayed this perfume and did a whole workout and swam in the ocean and the scent was STILL there! I couldn't believe how long this lasted. This is my go-to everyday scent and it's perfect for summer in my opinion!" But a third reviewer was not totally impressed, saying: "Smells amazing but unfortunately does not have a staying power on my skin. That was so disappointing because I wish everyone could smell how good it is." A fourth added: "If you're a fan of sweet yet sophisticated scents, Candied Lychee is a must-try. It's perfect for those looking to add a fresh, fun, and feminine fragrance to their collection." It's always worth paying attention to application when applying a perfume. A tip is to generously apply perfume to all pulse points - in particular when skin is freshly washed and moisturised - for the most longevity. Shoppers can get their hands on the 'must-try' Candied Lychee for £30 a bottle on Sephora.

Tyla Channels Josephine Baker at the 2025 Met Gala
We can always count on Tyla to make a lasting impression, and tonight is no different. Though the singer often references her South African roots, at the 2025 Met Gala, she made 1920s Hollywood her muse. 'For Tyla's makeup, we were channeling vintage Hollywood glamour—icons like Josephine Baker, Dorothy Dandridge, and Jean Harlow—with a modern twist,' legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath tells Vogue . 'The look focused on sultry smokey eyes using warm nudes and deep browns, paired with tonal red lips in varying shapes.' For skin, McGrath relied on her Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection System, 'because Tyla's complexion is absolutely divine. We also played with the brow—arched, softened, and gently toned to echo a new kind of modern Hollywood.' True to form, the singer's Jacquemus look was equally glamorous—the white and blue striped gown with a floor-sweeping trench was adorned with Pandora jewels that added just the right glimmer. Even more, Tyla debuted a major hair transformation—swapping her braids for a blonde short cut styled with voluminous pin curls. The ultimate finishing touch? A few mists of Parfums de Marly's Valaya Hair Perfume for a luxuriously fruity, musky scent. Article originally published on Vogue US

Almond Fragrances Ideal For Spring
Parfums de Marly Valaya Exclusif Vanilla fragrances reign during the winter months but March and April present with some challenges for gourmand lovers as the note can feel heavy and cloying in warmer weather. Almond notes have seen a rise in popularity with perfume house Parfums de Marly choosing to feature the note in its latest flanker of the orange blossom-forward Valaya perfume. Additionally, influential perfume store Scent Bar recently collaborated with Greek perfumer Theodoros Kalotinis to create a photorealistic nutty pastry creation called Almond Tart. Internet analytics supports the rise in popularity of the nutty note with the search term 'almond perfume' seeing a 68% increase this year compared to 2024. According to Future Market Insights the global gourmand fragrance market is projected to grow from 32.55 billion in 2025 to 55 billion in 2035. Perfume brands are seeking to capitalize on consumer tastes for sweetness but recognize that a different way to scratch that itch may be necessary. Almond offers a lighter powdery alternative to caramel and vanilla, but still provides a warmth and coziness desirable this time of year. It's an extremely versatile note that can enhance white florals or provide a beautiful creaminess without being too heavy. Here are some of the best almond perfumes from new designer launches to several niche classics that display the almond note in its various incarnations whether it be fresh, floral or creamy. All are sure to offer a nice alternative to your favorite vanilla fragrance. Parfums de Marly Valaya Exclusif Parfums de Marly Valaya Exclusif The original Valaya is often seen as the equivalent of a freshly-laundered white-buttoned down shirt, but some feel the peach and ambroxan create an undesirable screechiness. The Exclusif version still has the original's bright orange blossom, but replaces the peach opening with a creamy almond note. The result is stunning and more subtle, but equally as elegant. Chanel Comete Chanel Les Exclusif COMÈTE The Chanel Les Exclusifs line has produced some modern day classics like the white chocolate patchouli masterpiece Coromandel or the bold animalic statement fragrance Le Lion, but Olivier Polge has created the house's most luminous fragrance yet with COMÈTE. It opens with Chanel's signature sparkling aldehydes and seasonally-appropriate cherry blossom; heliotrope provides the creaminess of a floral almond and combines seamlessly with iris for a lovely powdery dry down. Powdery scents are trending in 2025 and Chanel as always. is leading the perfume pack with this floral gem. Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum Keiko Mecheri Loukhoum No list featuring almond-forward perfumes would be complete without Loukhoum. Originally launched in 2006, this scent is a powder bomb in the best way.
