Pixel Buds 2a could launch in four colours, Pro 2 gets ‘Sterling' finish: Leak

In the lead-up to Google's anticipated Pixel 10 launch, a fresh leak has provided a clearer picture of the first-party accessories and product variants likely to debut alongside the next-generation smartphones, reported 9To5Google. Among the most notable leaks are new audio accessories, expectedly expanded colour palettes, and larger storage configurations. According to information shared by a reliable tipster @MysteryLupin, the affordable Pixel Buds 2a are likely to arrive in four colours: Hazel (green), Strawberry (red), Iris (purple), and Fog Light (light blue), reported the 9To5Google. These second-generation A-Series earbuds could follow the 2021 debut of the original Pixel Buds A-Series, which offered consumers a budget-friendly alternative in Google's audio lineup. In addition, the Pixel Buds Pro 2 are expected to introduce a new shade called Sterling, likely a sleek grey tone designed to complement the upcoming Pixel 10 Pro and Pro XL models. The leak also details storage and colour variants for the upcoming Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pro XL, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold devices. The report hints that Pixel 10 will likely be available in 128 GB and 256 GB variants, with colour options including Black, Obsidian, Blue, Frost, Purple, Indigo, Yellow, and Lemongrass. Moreover, the Pixel 10 Pro is expected to come in 128 GB, 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB models. Colour choices could span Black, Obsidian, Green, Jade, Grey, Moonstone, White and Porcelain. The larger Pixel 10 Pro XL is anticipated to be offered in 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB capacities, with the same colour range as the standard Pro model. Notably, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold is also tipped to launch in 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB variants, available in Grey, Moonstone, Green, and Jade. Rounding off the leak is a glimpse at new charging peripherals. A product referred to as the 'Google Pixel Charger' could reportedly arrive in a Rock Candy (white) finish, potentially echoing Apple's MagSafe puck in form and function. Alongside it, the 'Google Pixel Wireless Charger' is expected to serve as the successor to the current Pixel Stand, hinting at faster wireless charging speeds and enhanced integration with Pixel phones. This may also align with the previously rumoured 'Pixelsnap Charger with Stand,' suggesting a refined approach to desktop wireless charging solutions.

Google Pixel Buds 2a leak tells us new color options — and a surprise option for the Pro 2

As rumors swirl around a potential mid-year launch for new Pixel 10 phones, we get a small glimpse into the future of the Pixel buds lineup. It's been a good 4 years or so since we saw a pair of a series buds come from Google, although it looks like the wait for budget buds is soon coming to an end. It's an early leak and one that's pretty barebones, but X user Arsène Lupin has given us an idea of what colors to expect the so-called "Pixel Buds 2a" to come in. Google Pixel Buds 2aHazel, Strawberry, Iris, Fog LightJuly 3, 2025 So there's not much to go on here — no technical details, no images and no launch date. Just a list of colors. Apparently, we'll be getting the Google Pixel Buds 2a in "Hazel, Strawberry, Iris, Fog Light." Those are completely different from the current lineup of colors of the Pixel Buds A-Series — Sea, Dark Olive, Clearly White and Charcoal — although Hazel is shared by the Google Pixel Buds Pro 2. It's a dark brown, if you're wondering. What will the other colors look like? Iris and Fog Light sound pretty nebulous, but Strawberry is almost certainly going to be some kind of pink or red. As for the price or release date? No clue. Lupin tends to leak stuff closer to release, mind you, so it's likely we're looking at something coming fairly soon. There was another leak as well — for another color. According to the same leaker in another X post, we're going to see the Pixel Buds Pro 2 come out in a color called "Sterling." That sounds like a silver to me, although I'm colorblind so I could be completely off base. Either way, we're looking at some potential new earbuds and a new color for an older pair. I'm excited to see where the Pixel Buds 2a land on our list of best earbuds, once we've got them in for testing. Google Pixel Buds A-Series might finally be getting a follow-up

Lil Katz / Android Authority TL;DR Google's got a big launch coming up this summer, with the Pixel 10 series set to debut. A new rumor suggests the company's also working on new 'Pixel Buds 2a' affordable earbuds. We could also get a new color option for the Pixel Buds Pro 2. Can you believe it's been four whole years now since Google introduced its affordably priced Pixel Buds A-Series earbuds? In the years since we've got not just one, but two generations of Pixel Buds Pro models, but without any new motion on the A-Series side of the fence. Now in 2025, with the Pixel 10 family getting ready to make its debut, is it finally time we see Google do something about that? A new rumor sure claims as much, with leaker Arsène Lupin returning to X to follow up their report on Pixel 10 color options with some tantalizing suggestions about what Google's planning for its audio accessories. By the sound of this, Google could be planning to have the Pixel 10 family share the stage with a new 'Pixel Buds 2a' that would be available in your choice of Hazel, Strawberry, Iris, and Fog Light. We're nor sure if that Buds 2a branding is supposed to be descriptive or how the earbuds would actually arrive, but it does represent a minor departure from the A-Series we have now. At least we can appreciate that the color options listed here sound a bit more vibrant than the neutral tones in which the A-Series is currently available. Speaking of colors, Lupin drops another minor detail, claiming that we're also getting a new option for the Pixel Buds Pro 2, with the four existing shades being joined by a new Sterling colorway. We've heard Sterling Gray mentioned as a possible Pixel 10 color before (although Lupin's recent report does not include it) but now we're curious if this could be just another matte option, or if it might represent some kind of new metallic finish. Although these earbud rumors land amidst a flurry of claims about Pixel 10 phones and their accessories, there's technically nothing here that asserts we'll see them all arrive together, so we assume it's possible that Google may hold back their introduction until some point later in the year. At least, it feels a little odd we haven't heard more about them if they're really launching in just another few weeks, but that's still plenty of time for more Buds 2a leaks to arrive. Got a tip?
