Vameon Unleashes dEmpire of Vampire: A Cutting-Edge PvP Mobile Web3 Game Poised to Redefine GameFi
SINGAPORE, SG / ACCESS Newswire / July 29, 2025 / Vameon, a leading blockchain game development studio, today announced the full launch of dEmpire of Vampire, an innovative 3D mobile RPG set in a dark fantasy world with a strong emphasis on PvP gameplay. This launch marks a pivotal moment in the GameFi sector, offering a sustainable and player-centric model that directly addresses the widespread challenges and failures that have plagued the industry. The GameFi sector has faced significant challenges in recent years. Initially propelled by the hype surrounding NFTs and Play-to-Earn (P2E) mechanics, the industry has since experienced a downturn, with approximately 93% of GameFi projects having failed and an average project lifespan of only four months. These failures have been attributed to short-term thinking, unsustainable economic models, and rushed product releases that did not prioritize gameplay quality or user experience. 'We've observed how GameFi struggled because it attempted to forcibly combine two incompatible value systems: the pleasure of gaming and financial gain,' said Alex, cofounder of Vameon. 'Many P2E projects failed because they prioritized earning over gameplay. With dEmpire of Vampire, we aim to shift this paradigm by creating a game that people want to play for enjoyment first, and then offering sustainable and optional Web3 opportunities.' dEmpire of Vampire: A New Era of Sustainable GameFi Vameon enters this market not as a new entrant, but as a developer keenly aware of these pitfalls. dEmpire of Vampire, originally launched in 2023, adopted a phased development approach that included the introduction of its $VON token in December 2024. The game is now fully available on both the App Store and Google Play. This release is designed to set a new precedent in GameFi, focusing on longevity and utility, alongside accessible and engaging gameplay across both Web2 and Web3 platforms. The development and launch of dEmpire of Vampire have been proudly supported by BNB Chain, further solidifying its position within the Web3 ecosystem. A core component of dEmpire of Vampire is its approach to Web3 integration. Unlike earlier GameFi projects that required users to interact directly with blockchain technology, Vameon has made these features optional. This includes the use of a free NFT character associated with each account, allowing players to experience digital ownership without upfront costs or the need for specialized knowledge. This strategy aligns with broader trends such as 'invisible wallets' that simplify Web3 user experiences. The game's economic model also diverges from its predecessors. Players earn the native $VON token through in-game achievements, with anti-inflationary measures in place to preserve token value. These include a dual-budget reserve and a structured buyback mechanism designed to provide stability during periods of high reward redemptions. Additionally, revenue from traditional in-app purchases, such as premium character packs, supports the Play-to-Earn economy, establishing a hybrid monetization model that aims to balance sustainability with engagement. This approach seeks to mitigate the issues that led to the failure of many earlier GameFi projects, where token economies often collapsed due to speculative overreach and insufficient economic safeguards. According to recent industry reports, while overall investment in GameFi dropped by 71% in Q1 2025 compared to Q4 2024, the number of deals increased by 35%, and daily unique active wallets surpassed 7 million in January 2025-a 386% year-over-year rise. These figures suggest that while the market is contracting in terms of project volume, user engagement remains robust for high-quality offerings. dEmpire of Vampire features a dark fantasy setting, optimized performance for a broad range of mobile devices, and gameplay that allows players to progress through gothic-themed challenges. The design targets both Web3 users and the broader Web2 gaming audience by reducing the complexity often associated with blockchain-based games. The game also incorporates exciting PvP mechanics, offering players a competitive and engaging experience. Vameon has indicated that the game is part of a larger strategic roadmap. Future updates planned through Q2 2025 include an in-game marketplace, expanded utility for the $VON token, and additional game content. This roadmap is intended to support long-term player retention and further integrate economic mechanisms that reinforce stability and value. The development of dEmpire of Vampire reflects a shift in the GameFi sector toward more measured and sustainable project design. As the market evolves, projects that can demonstrate tangible value, user-centric design, and robust economic structures are expected to play a central role in the sector's maturation. About Vameon Vameon is a blockchain game development studio headquartered in Dubai, UAE, with an international team of over 30 professionals. The company focuses on merging traditional gaming quality with Web3 features in a way that prioritizes accessibility and long-term sustainability. Vameon aims to redefine the GameFi landscape by emphasizing player ownership, robust token utility, and gameplay that appeals to both crypto-native users and traditional gamers. Definitely not a sprint finish: Bungie's Marathon reboot is delayed indefinitely
Definitely not a sprint finish: Bungie's Marathon reboot is delayed indefinitely 'We need more time to craft Marathon into the game that truly reflects your passion,' said Bungie Skip 1 photos in the image carousel and continue reading Turn on Javascript to see all the available pictures. Just in case there was anybody left who hadn't noticed yet: videogame development in 2025 is quite a tricky business. Halo creator Bungie Inc. will probably be the first to tell you that, having just announced that the studio's upcoming PvP shooter Marathon has been delayed indefinitely, following what the statement rather diplomatically calls 'passionate' feedback from the alpha playtesters. 'Thank you not only for your passionate feedback around the Marathon reveal and Alpha playtest,' begins the official statement, 'but also for your patience while we took the time to listen closely and chart our next steps.' Advertisement - Page continues below Marathon was due to release on 23 September this year, but the statement says that's no longer happening. There's no new release date, but there is a sizeable list of new features and improvements Bungie intends to implement before resurfacing. In an incredible case of nominative determinism, it's already been a long and arduous journey for the project, which was announced back in 2023 and has subsequently had to face backlash for the PvP-only direction of the reboot (the original 1994 game was a singleplayer sci-fi corridor shooter) while implementing leadership changes following legal issues. It's always good to see studios taking the extra time to ensure a decent final product. However, if you were wondering if there's any place for auteurs whose creative vision is the alpha and omega of a game development project in 2025, the answer's… um, this. 'We're using this time to empower the team to create the intense, high-stakes experience that a title like Marathon is built around. This means deepening the relationship between the developers and the game's most important voices: our players.' Exploring Rust The Game And The Rise of Community-Driven Platforms Like Rustly
Rust, a multiplayer survival game, released in 2018, has gained immense popularity since its early-access debut in 2013. It has always had a competitive community, praised for its immersive and intense environment. Players are set in a post-apocalyptic world where they begin with a rock and a torch. To survive, they need to craft tools, gather sustenance, build shelters, and defend from wildlife and other players. Known for its unique take on survival simulators, the introduction of Rust has made quite a statement. The game has realistic survival mechanisms and community-based gameplay, which sets it apart in the genre. Strategizing around social dynamics and making real-time decisions are required for success, which has elevated the title to more than solely a survival simulator. The Core Gameplay Experience The most primitive goal in Rust is to stay alive. Players are initiated into a large, unregulated world by themselves with many other players, wild creatures, and the ruins of humanity's past. Initially, they have to focus on surviving, but it has to be dealt with socially. As such, players have the opportunity to team up, form clans, or simply overpower other players through strategic violence or guile. Few games offer a PvP (player versus player) combat system like Rust, which enhances the game's intensity further. One of the highlights of the game is the strategic planning needed for building and reinforcing a base, especially with the risk of it being attacked and rendered useless. Tools, armor, and weapons also have to be constructed, other than the base itself. With the evolution of a player's base, the intricacy also increases, which attracts attention and (risk) from other players. It is vital to manage resources. Not only do food and water need to be collected, but also wood, stone, and metal. Players have the opportunity to create anything from a basic sleeping bag to advanced weaponry and intricate traps. This is in conjunction with the deep crafting system, where numerous methods to achieve long-term reign over the game include vehicles, electrical systems, and farming. The Distinct Culture of the Rust Community What makes Rust different from other games is the lack of traditional quests or missions given to players. While other games tend to be unimaginative by suppressing player activity and forcing players to follow a pre-defined checklist through milestones, Rust allows players to participate in advanced social activities and tell their self-crafted stories. Both sides of aggression or protectiveness can be offered with endless, endless opportunities. Teamwork is improved with real-time voice communication, however, social interactions are also highly volatile. Without any boundaries on players' interactions, the player's population is in a state of continuous flux, offering dynamic experiences unlike any other. Without any given framework, players are given both subtle and clear chances to declare an all-out war on opposing factions. The absence of player-enforced limits on the world has resulted in the creation of unique spaces within the game, such as casino for Rust players, where people wager their precious loot on chance and gamble in these elaborate constructs of gold and silver. In alignment with the game's spirit of mayhem, these actions are akin to the lottery of opening loot boxes or placing bets during the Orcs' fiercely competitive season, introducing more suspense. The amalgamation of social dynamics and brutally unscripted survival is what keeps these players constantly active in Rust. Skins and The Economy Within The Game In transitional stages of the game, an in-game economy reliant on cosmetic features such as clothing has evolved. Weapons, tools, and even clothing can be changed on the basis of visuals through in-game strings. Unlike the styling, however, these skins have also grown to become staples of trade internally and externally to the game, marking a powerful asset within the community. The skin market of Rust has created a need for new gaming sites which allow users to trade, customize, or participate in item trading activities. While the primary focus of the game revolves around survival, there is an additional economy that evolves with the game, increasing the player's interaction and investment. What Rustly Provides for The Community This evolving gaming economy has given rise to multiple platforms such as Rustly, which is not affiliated with Facepunch Studios but is a one-stop engagement hub for players who wish to explore the game's economy in innovative ways. The features provided are centered around Rust skins and gameplay-inspired entertainment, which gamers are sure to enjoy. Rustly is bound to make heady changes in its Case Opening section. This is one of the newest features on the website, where participants can claim virtual crates of random Rust skins dubbed as loot boxes. The gamers have the chance of getting anything from mundane pieces to highly sought-after cosmetics. This system creates a sense of satisfaction and excitement associated with unboxing, staring at the console, playing other popular games, card games, or even engaging in other popular titles that come with built-in mechanics. In addition to the Case Opening feature, we also have Coinflip – another Epic feature that allows players to bet their skins in a do-or-die chance game. This feature is simple and comes with high risk, stimulating extreme emotions where the winner gets everything, causing an unparalleled rush of excitement. Rustly's Roulette mode offers players a more classic gambling option, allowing them to place bets on a virtual wheel that spins to determine winnings. Just like Coinflip, this feature is designed to capture the most engagement, especially from competitive players looking for instant gratification.
