Karrion Kross Got A ‘Liberating, Yet Frustrating Answer' About Keeping Momentum On WWE TV
Karrion Kross has been steadily building momentum on WWE TV as of late, but how can he keep that pace up? Kross says it's a question he asked a long time ago. Kross spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard to promote his new book, Life Is Fighting. Karrion Kross has been garnering more support in the past few months. In March, he was getting over with social media content and fans started campaigning for him to face Randy Orton at WrestleMania. He went from having a lack of TV time to getting one of the featured matches at SummerSlam against Sami Zayn. Kross was asked what he feels he could do to keep that upward momentum or be featured more consistently on television. Kross gave a surprising answer and said he was told there's not much more he can do. However, that answer came with a silver lining, albeit a frustrating one at that. Karrion Kross wants to give everything 'I asked this question a long time ago, and I was told there's nothing more I can do. Just to keep giving them what I've been giving them, which is a liberating, yet frustrating answer,' Kross admitted. 'Because you want to give more. At least I do. I always want to give more. I've always been that way. I think I'll always be that way. For lack of better words, I want to empty the cup, refill it, and empty it again. I want to give everything. 'I'm more or less at the mercy of where everything, where they choose to take everything. But it's been fun. It's been validating in so many different ways,' Kross added. 'I feel like my best work has been coming out this year. And I feel like I have so much more to give. I feel like there's so much meat left on the bone with everyone. Even the people that I previously worked with, people that I haven't worked with. There's tons of people that I'd love to work with that are top stars that we haven't even gone near for the last three years.' Life Is Fighting is available now through physical and digital retailers like Amazon. He explained that he wanted to break from the tradition of celebrities always winning in WWE. "I told, I told Triple H, I want to lose SummerSlam," Jelly Roll said. "Just because no celebrity's ever got took a L, yeah, always put them over, yeah. And if you don't put me over, I always have a reason. Yeah, there's always just something lingering here. I can pop up anytime." A Last-Minute Change Explained Jelly Roll's comments now explain a previous report from Fightful Select. Jelly Roll Brings Grit & Heart to In-Ring Debut at WWE SummerSlam 2025
Jelly Roll made his WWE in-ring debut this weekend, and teamed up with Randy Orton to battle Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul at SummerSlam 2025. Jelly didn't disappoint, as the brute country force rattled McIntyre and Paul with a series of slams and elbow drops, before ultimately falling short in his Saturday night (Aug. 2) WWE match. Ahead of the match, Jelly introduced tag partner Orton and performed his entrance theme song, 'Voices,' electrifying the MetLife Stadium crowd in East Rutherford, N.J. Not only did he deliver some offense, including an impressive shoulder tackle on Paul, but he absorbed a flurry of attacks. The defining moment came when Paul sent Jelly crashing through the announcer's table with a high-flying splash. Despite the setback, a hobbled Jelly Roll delivered a clinical performance: first chokeslamming Paul before issuing a punishing bodyslam. But Paul had the last laugh, connecting with a frog splash and scoring the 1-2-3. Jelly, a lifelong wrestling fan, trained rigorously at WWE's Performance Center ahead of his match, which contributed to his 230-pound weight loss. 'This is about belief — believing in myself — and wanting to selfishly be a part of a beautiful moment,' Jelly said earlier this week in an interview with WWE's Jackie Redmond. 'I love this business. I just wanna bring value. I'm not here to take nothing away. I'm not here to take nobody's spot. I want to bring value. I think this is one of the greatest ages of storytelling I've seen in wrestling this decade.' See clips of Jelly's SummerSlam in-ring debut below. Watch Jelly Roll Fight Logan Paul in Much-Hyped WWE SummerSlam Match
The much-hyped battle between Jelly Roll and Logan Paul finally hit the ring Saturday at WWE's SummerSlam event, where the country singer and tag team partner Randy Orton faced off against the social media provocateur and his partner Drew McIntyre. The fight, which was set up over a month ago on Smackdown and was heavily promoted since then, marked Jelly Roll's first official match as a wrestler after making a handful of appearances at WWE events over the past year. More from Rolling Stone How to Watch WWE SummerSlam 2025 Online How to Watch 'WWE Friday Night SmackDown' Online Without Cable Hulk Hogan, Wrestling Superstar Turned Right-Wing Hero, Dead at 71 Jelly Roll — who claimed he broke his pinky and suffered other injuries while training for the match — endured a significant amount of beating during the match; at one point, Jelly Roll was outside the ring, lying on an announcers table when Paul jumped from the top post and landed on the singer, causing the table to overturn. 'The day the music died,' one of his opponents quipped. That aforementioned move knocked out Jelly Roll for a considerable amount of time as Orton fought against Paul and McIntyre alone. However, he recovered and made his way back to the ring 'like the walking dead' in time to accept Orton's tag-in, and delivered some clotheslines and choke slams on Paul to even up the match. However, the match concluded when Paul dropped his signature move the 'Paul from Grace' on Jelly Roll, who was then promptly pinned and defeated. Jelly Roll Slams Logan Paul on ‘Kimmel' Desk During Guest Host Debut
Jelly Roll literally came out swinging for his debut hosting gig on Jimmy Kimmel Live! During his interview with WWE wrestler Randy Orton, the pair were interrupted by none other than fellow WWE wrester Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. Words were exchanged as McIntyre came in calling Jelly Roll an 'inspiration to trailer trash all across the world' for his 200-pound weight-loss, and McInytre and Orton began scrapping. As Jelly Roll tried to cut to commercial break after losing his guest, Paul came out on the show stage to admonish the singer, who he called 'Mr. Dummy Roll.' The influencer-turned-professional wrestler was met with a booing crowd, but that didn't stop him from trash talking the guest host. 'You people are so stupid, someone has to stop him,' Paul said before addressing Jelly Roll directly. 'I'll tell you what you are. You, my friend, are a greasy, redneck, prison rat,' Paul continued, referring to the singer's years behind bars before slapping Jelly Roll in the face. More from Rolling Stone See Jelly Roll Clash With Logan Paul on WWE 'Smackdown' Jelly Roll Twins (and Hilariously Duets) 'Need a Favor' With Kevin James Jelly Roll Thanks Post Malone for Bringing Him Along on the Big Ass Stadium Tour: 'Unreal' Jelly Roll responded by grabbing Paul by the neck and chokeslamming him onto Kimmel's stage desk, shattering wood everywhere. The crowd erupted into applause as Jelly Roll plugged his upcoming appearance at the WWE SummerSlam in August. The singer is up for a match with Paul and will be helped out by Orton. McIntyre will be Paul's fighting partner in the ring. The whole bit was a preview of that fight. It's not the first time that Jelly Roll, Orton, McIntyre, and Paul got into an altercation as a way to promote the upcoming fight. Last week, at Saturday's WWE Main Event in Nashville, Jelly Roll and Paul got into quite the altercation when the country singer came in to defend Orton. Orton had just been jump-kicked by wrestler Drew McIntyre when Paul began beating down on him too. Jelly Roll then grabbed Paul and laubched him across the ring before security came in to 'break up' the dramatized fight. As Orton said on the Kimmel show during his interview with Jelly Roll: 'Retribution is going to come quick and swift at SummerSlam.'
