Hulk Hogan's cause of death reportedly revealed as a heart attack

Legendary WWE wrestler Hulk Hogan reportedly died of acute myocardial infarction, otherwise known as a heart attack, medical records obtained by the New York Post show. Hogan reportedly also had a history of atrial fibrillation, a condition where the heart beats rapidly and irregularly. Hogan also reportedly had "a history of leukemia CCL," per the Post. Hogan had not publicly revealed a leukemia diagnosis. Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, died July 24. Medics were called to Hogan's home for a possible cardiac arrest. He was treated there before being transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was 71. In the wake of his death, Hogan received an outpouring of tributes from fans and other wrestling legends. Hogan almost singlehandedly lifted WWE — then-WWF — to relevance during his prime wrestling years in the '80s. While the sport had other superstars at that time, none shined more than Hogan, who parlayed that success into a career in movies, music and general pop culture. While he was revered as an icon early in his career, Hogan's career shifted after he was caught using racial slurs on a leaked sex tape. WWE cut ties with the wrestler for years before finally bringing him back. During his final handful of appearances with WWE, Hogan was booed by fans. On the first episode of WWE's "Raw" following Hogan's death, the company paid tribute to Hogan with a 10-bell salute.

Alexa Bliss Teases Joining Fan-Favorite WWE Faction

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. WWE superstar Alexa Bliss has addressed the widespread fan speculation about her potentially joining the mysterious and terrifying Wyatt Sicks faction. In a new interview, the multi-time champion left the door open for a future return to her "dark side." Ever since the debut of the Wyatt Sicks, fans have speculated that Bliss could be their leader, often referred to as "Sister Abigail." This is due to her deep storyline history with the late, great Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt). "You Never Know What's Going To Happen" While speaking with Fox News Digital, Alexa Bliss was asked about the possibility of a full-blown return to her supernatural character. She gave the classic WWE response of "never say never" and shared a poignant memory of her former partner. "Windham always said, 'Alexa and I will always be connected and when it happens and when we reconnect, it's gonna be something big,'" Bliss recalled. "So, whether that's with the Wyatt Sicks or something else, I don't know... It's WWE, you never know what's going to happen." A Dark And Twisted History The speculation is rooted in one of the most memorable character transformations of the modern era. During the "Thunderdome Era" of 2020 and 2021, Alexa Bliss became entangled with "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt. The storyline saw her slowly descend into madness, adopting a dark, supernatural persona complete with magical powers and a demonic doll named Lilly. Alex BierensThis character was a huge departure from her previous "Goddess" gimmick and became a central part of Raw. The Wyatt Sicks faction, led by Wyatt's real-life brother Bo Dallas as Uncle Howdy, is seen as a tribute to Wyatt's creative vision, making a potential leadership role for Bliss a logical and popular fan theory. More news: WWE Superstar Announces Retirement Match An Unlikely Partnership Since her return to WWE at the 2025 Royal Rumble, Bliss has shed most of the supernatural elements of her character. She has instead formed an unlikely, and often tense, tag team with her former rival, Charlotte Flair. The duo has grown in popularity and is now set to challenge for the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships at SummerSlam this weekend. Bliss acknowledged her current focus while still keeping the door open for the future. "I'm having a lot of fun tagging with Charlotte and seeing where that dynamic goes," she said. "I think it would be something really cool to see [working with the Wyatts], but you never know." More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.

Alexa Bliss on ‘navigating' complicated Charlotte Flair relationship as they eye WWE gold at SummerSlam

Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair's relationship is entering a different phase on and off the screen in WWE. The two have known each other for more than a decade, dating back to their time in NXT and have recently captured the hearts of the WWE audience as a reluctant tag team. The 33-year-old Bliss, who credits Flair with taking her under her wing in NXT as she came in with no wrestling background, said it came together organically with the idea of doing something 'fresh' for the two veteran characters. Outside of their 2017 Survivor Series match, their only major program together centered around the Raw women's championship in 2021. Working together now has allowed them to show fans something different.
