Redmi 15C specs and pricing leak
A couple of days ago the Redmi 15C was showcased in leaked official-looking renders just as it got certified for sale in Thailand. Today, a new leak purportedly brings us some of its specs along with pricing for the Eurozone. Let's start with the latter. The Redmi 15C is said to go for €129 with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. If you want double the storage, then you'll have to pay €149 - the RAM stays the same, however. So what do you get for that amount of money? Today's rumor says the phone has a 6.9-inch IPS LCD screen with 120 Hz refresh rate, the MediaTek Helio G81 SoC at the helm, a 50 MP main camera, a 13 MP selfie snapper, and a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging. The EPREL rating says you can expect the battery to retain 80% of its initial capacity after 1,000 charging cycles. The Redmi 15C measures 173 x 81 x 8.2 mm and weighs 205g. Redmi 15C images leak just as it gets certified alongside its Poco twin
The Redmi 14C launched in August of last year, and the Xiaomi sub-brand is now seemingly hard at work on its aptly named successor, the Redmi 15C. This has been leaked today in some official-looking images, which you can see below. The source of the leak claims the phone will be offered in four colors: Moonlight Blue, Twilight Orange, Midnight Black, and a green version. It will have 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, and, as you can see, it has a handwritten-like text on the back identifying the model. The Redmi 15C has also been certified by NBTC in Thailand with the model number 25078RA3EA, alongside the Poco C85 with the model number 25078PC3EG. The model numbers being so close is probably no coincidence - we assume these will be very similar to each other, if not identical. Unsurprisingly, both the Redmi 15C and the Poco C85 will be 4G-only. According to an earlier FCC certification, the Redmi 15C has a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD screen with a waterdrop notch, and a 6,000 mAh battery with support for 33W wired charging. It's expected to launch with Android 15 on board and Xiaomi's HyperOS on top. While the "2507" at the beginning of their model numbers implies a launch this month, that's not always how things work out in the end with Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices. Either way, clearly these two will become official soon, so stay tuned. Xiaomi Redmi 14C Via 1 (in Dutch) | Via 2

Africa News Live Updates: Nigeria begins training camp for 2024 African Nations Championship
July 8, 2025, 13:46:09 (IST) Whatsapp Facebook Twitter Redmi tablet launch in Nigeria signals growing investor confidence in Africa's tech market The official launch of the Redmi Pad 2 series in Nigeria is being viewed as a significant indicator of the nation's growing consumer electronics market and its attractiveness for foreign direct investment, as per a report in Premium Times. Economic analysts note that the move by Redmi's parent company, Xiaomi, reflects confidence in Nigeria's expanding middle class and increasing digital adoption. The development aligns with the Nigerian government's National Digital Economy Policy, which seeks to leverage technology for growth. However, policy experts also point out that while such launches improve consumer choice and can help bridge the digital divide, they also underscore the need for policies that encourage local manufacturing and address the persistent gap in digital access and literacy across the country.

Xiaomi affirms ongoing collaboration with Leica amidst rumours: Know more
Chinese smartphone brand Xiaomi has clarified that it has no plans to end its long-standing partnership with German optics company Leica. The announcement follows multiple reports suggesting that Xiaomi would remove Leica branding from its upcoming flagship smartphones, including the anticipated Xiaomi 16 series. In response, a Xiaomi spokesperson called the claims 'entirely unfounded.' In a statement to Business Standard, Xiaomi spokesperson said: 'Together, Xiaomi and Leica have collaborated closely to integrate advanced optics and imaging technologies into Xiaomi devices, delivering industry-leading mobile photography experiences to users around the world. This partnership continues to thrive, grounded in a shared vision of pushing the boundaries of mobile imaging. Recent rumours suggesting the end of our collaboration are entirely unfounded. Both companies remain committed to deepening this strategic partnership and bringing even more innovative imaging solutions to Xiaomi smartphones." This is in response to the reports claiming that Xiaomi's upcoming flagships, including the Xiaomi 16 series, as well as high-end Redmi and POCO devices, would not feature co-engineered camera systems from partners like Leica. These reports suggested that Xiaomi was planning to reallocate licensing fees toward hardware upgrades, including better camera sensors and improvements in computational photography. It was also speculated that Xiaomi and its sub-brands would shift to using proprietary imaging technologies or adopt in-house colour tuning similar to Huawei, which ended its collaboration with Leica in 2022 to develop its own 'XMAGE' camera system. While Xiaomi has firmly denied these rumours, other smartphone brands appear to be reevaluating their camera collaborations. Last month, 9To5Google reported that OnePlus may be ending its partnership with Swedish camera brand Hasselblad, with its upcoming flagship expected to drop the Hasselblad branding altogether.

Xiaomi And Leica To Stop Making Branded Camera For Phones? What Reports Say
Last Updated: Xiaomi has launched phones with Leica-engineered cameras in the last few years but it seems that tie up could soon end. Xiaomi and Leica have been working together on phone cameras for the last few years and the results have been good. However, a new report this week claims Xiaomi could be looking to go solo and end its partnership with Leica in the near future. The details suggest Xiaomi is now confident of developing its own imaging ID that will deliver premium quality without needing a Leica badge and expertise to make it work. The rumour has come via a post by tipster Digital Chat Station from China without actually naming the brand. Xiaomi signed up with Leica which was done to give it the premium outlook in the market and it worked to some extent. However, the company's actual focus in the mid-range segment faced challenges as pricing became an issue. Now, if the Leica branding and royalty payments go away, Xiaomi can deliver high-quality cameras across its range. The tipster even suggests Redmi and Poco could benefit from this strategy and Xiaomi could really up the ante with its hardware production cost now being more manageable. We don't know how much the Leica branding actually costs Xiaomi but going by other arrangements, it surely costs them something significant. Building On It Leica had previously worked with Huawei for the P-series that were launched globally. And once the duo decided to go separate ways, the China-based brand had developed its own sensors to take forward the legacy without a heavy badge. Vivo is the other brand that has relied on Zeiss Optics to develop some of the best imaging solutions with the X-series. These collaborations are not meant to last forever, and their close association gives them deeper access to the knowledge and the skilled workforce involved in the business.
