Tiny kitten hit by car found hiding under truck. Now, she's fighting to survive

A spit-fire little kitten with a heart as big as her voice is in need of some help in Texas. Even though Stormy had a very rough, and painful, start in life, her future has potential, the South Plains Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) in Lubbock said. 'A tiny approximately 6 week old kitten, now named Stormy, was found crying in pain under a truck at a car dealership. She had been hit by a car and was trying to survive with a severely broken leg,' the shelter said in a July 30 Facebook post. 'Stormy was rushed to the vet, and the news is tough — her leg is too badly damaged to save and she will need a full amputation to relieve her pain and give her a chance at a happy, pain-free life. Stormy was also covered in fleas causing her to be severely anemic requiring further treatment before she is even able to undergo surgery.' The sweet kitten is loving and expresses it to those around her as well. 'Despite all she's been through, Stormy is purring in the arms of her rescuers, vocal and grateful to be safe. She is fighting to live, and we want to give her that chance,' the shelter said. For more information on Stormy, visit the shelter's website. Lubbock is about a 315-mile drive northwest from Fort Worth.

Backstage: Stormy at Nawafiz Festival

We caught up with Moroccan rap sensation Stormy ahead of his performance at Utrecht's Nawafiz Festival, where we discussed his pre-performance rituals and creative process. Jun 28, 2025 Moroccan rap sensation Stormy has been unstoppable since his debut album 'ICEBERG' in 2024. His unflinching honesty, sharp flows in Darija and French, and affinity for meaningful worldplay established him as one of the most exciting talents in the region's hip-hop scene and earned him a dedicated following across Europe as well. Before his breakthrough in the scene, the Rabat-born wordsmith used to release freestyles on YouTube, where he would anxiously await feedbacks from listeners to improve his lyrical delivery. Now, as he took centre stage at this year's Nawafiz Festival in Utrecht with confidence and swagger for his Netherlands debut - further expanding his global footprint - Stormy remains as humble as he first started. For him, live performances are another means through which he tries to workshop his sound, by paying close attention to the crowd and which flows or verses of his songs they react to the most. Backstage, he was still as welcoming, warm and humble as he vulnerably shared with us his experience visiting the Netherlands for the first time, his pre-performance rituals, and creative process. Despite his chart-topping hits and almost a million monthly streams on Spotify, Stormy's intention is never about making hits, but rather creating something that accurately reflects his skills and persona, and most importantly, satisfies his thirst for creativity. A Portland Boathouse Is Reopening As a Kid-Friendly Destination for Fish Sandwiches

A year-round indoor and outdoor restaurant on Hayden Island is set to open in less than a month. Pal's will open in early July with all day, seven days a week service. Donald Kenney, raised in Oregon and one of the partners behind the project, is one of the minds behind the buildout and the menu. Hayden Island sits in the Columbia River as a natural divider between Washington and Oregon states. In the mornings from 7 to 11 a.m. it'll be coffee and pastries, with grab-and-go items meant to provide what a grocery store might. Then a lunch and dinner-focused menu will be on throughout the afternoon until 10 p.m. This will be the only upscale outdoor restaurant on the island of about 4,000 people, including the houseboat residents. That menu is seafood-forward as can be. There'll be Oregon albacore tuna salad, oversized fish sandwiches with the goods spilling out the side, and Oregon's own Bay shrimp on a local rendition of a lobster roll. The fish comes breaded in Panko and dusted in kettle chips, shoved between those comically tiny buns. Dungeness crab should make an appearance when it's in season. There's soft serve on deck, too. Fellow business partner and cocktail wiz Sean Ford is behind the no-joke drinks program. He's got his own cocktail syrups company, was the Teardrop general manager, and is part-owner of various bars. He's rolling out classics including the Dark and Stormy alongside more inventive beverages like a Banoffee Bahama Mama riff served with Hamilton dark rum, banana liqueur, a shot of soft serve, and a spoon. For his part, Kenney helped open the lakeside resort the Suttle Lake Lodge & Boathouse in Sisters back in 2015. The resort and restaurant sits by the 380-acre Suttle Lake in the Deschutes National Forest. The idea was to bring an egalitarian and approachable food option that kids would remember stopping at once they're older. Much of that same energy is brought to Pal's by Kenney and his team. The vibe is going for somewhere between the original Dairy Queen's and Maine's classic Bagaduce Lunch. He's got the opportunity thanks to a friend who owns the Pal's space asked him if he'd be able to run that Suttle Lodge playbook on Hayden Island. The space is a some 40-year-old leasing office in the marina. The building and grounds are getting a facelift into a big lawn with space for kids and families to sit and enjoy the food. Kenney got this idea from his experiences working in Austin, Texas where he says it's much more common for wide open private spaces that are attached to a restaurant. Pistils Nursery is helping design the buildout and provide plant life. The hope is for families to come here again and again, to spend warm days down by the water eating soft serve late into the night.'I see the kids running around throwing food for the geese to eat,' Kenney says, 'and people pulling their boats up for a bite to eat.' Pal's (515 NE Tomahawk Island Drive, Portland) will open in early July. Opening hours are 7 to to 10 p.m. everyday. See More: Portland Restaurant Openings

Husky Freaks Out With Excitement When Baby Sister Finally Decides to Pet Her After 10 Months

Husky Freaks Out With Excitement When Baby Sister Finally Decides to Pet Her After 10 Months originally appeared on Parade Pets. Adjusting to a new baby in the household is no easy task — it doesn't matter if you're new parents getting into the flow of a major life change, or the family pet getting used to having a baby in the house. Over time, though, so many parents get to witness the beautiful bond that so many dogs have with their human siblings, even if it takes a little while for that bond to get started. Case in point: The sweet relationship unfolding between the Husky in the video below and her 10 month old baby sister. It may have taken her a little while to gather the bravery to pet her dog, but once she does, it's easy to see she already has her dog wrapped around her tiny baby finger! Dog and human mom @justlifewithstef shared this adorable footage on TikTok that included the very first time that her daughter decided she was finally ready to pet her dog, Stormy. Baby girl listened to mama's instructions to use "gentle hands" perfectly, and it seems like this was a moment Stormy was really looking forward to, because the moment she felt her baby sister's hands on her fur, she flopped over in sheer joy. These two are so sweet together, and it's clear that the time Mom has spent trying to show her daughter the right way to interact with dogs has truly paid off. It probably helps that Stormy is such a sweetheart, too!Commenters can't get enough of these two together, and it's easy to see why — this Husky is absolutely in love with her baby! "Your dog has been waiting for this day!" one commenter wrote. Another shared a comment from Stormy's perspective: "Mom, it's happening! Look!" "You need to be really careful here with babies and dogs. His body language indicates that he's about to claim her as his own and never leave her side," another wrote, adding a winking emoji. Huskies might be big, playful, busy dogs, but they can also be so sweet, and this moment is a prime example of that quality. It seems like this is just the beginning of a beautiful friendship between these two! 🐶🐾🐾 Husky Freaks Out With Excitement When Baby Sister Finally Decides to Pet Her After 10 Months first appeared on Parade Pets on Jun 10, 2025 This story was originally reported by Parade Pets on Jun 10, 2025, where it first appeared.

The Ugly Truth About Trump's ‘Appalling' Hair: Biographer

Donald Trump's signature hairdo is all about grabbing maximum attention, author Michael Wolff told The Daily Beast Podcast this week. Wolff, author of a series of books about Trump in power, said the president viewed his hair as part of a wider strategy to stand out—including from Joe Biden on the 2024 campaign trail. 'He looks gray,' Wolff said of Biden. 'He's washed-out. You know, his hair is—what's left of it—is gray. The skin is gray. The suits are gray.' 'And Trump would point out, 'Look at him,'' he continued. ''Nobody even sees him. Everybody notices me.' Which is absolutely true. And side by side, you know, who do you notice? You notice this guy, this appalling-looking guy who is Donald Trump, and not just the relatively normal old man-looking guy that Biden was.' Wolff said Trump's entire appearance is 'by design.' 'He looks that way because he thinks that's an effective way to look,' he added. The White House did not immediately return a request for comment on the biographer's characterization. Wolff also referenced a passage from Stormy Daniels' book, where the porn star described a conversation she claims to have had with Trump about his locks during their alleged 2006 relationship. (Trump has denied any affair). In Full Disclosure, Daniels wrote that she asked Trump about his hairdo, and he admitted it was 'ridiculous.' Trump claimed that 'every celebrity stylist' had offered to fix it, but he declined, according to the 2019 book. 'Everybody talks about it,' Trump said, per Daniels. 'It's my thing. It's my trademark. Plus, if I let this person do it, it will just piss off all these other people. 'Well, why did you let him do it?' I know a lot of people who would kill to do it. The best. The best of the best.' Daniels' claims are backed up in part by an unexpected source: Seth Rogen. The actor, who appeared alongside her in Knocked Up (2007), says Daniels once told him about a bizarre exchange she claimed to have had with Trump about his hair. In the 2024 documentary Stormy, Rogen recalls Daniels saying that Trump believed his 'power' was tied to his hair, and that if he lost it, he'd lose his 'power and his stature.' 'And that's why, even though he knows it's ridiculous and... objectively not passing all the checkmarks you would want a head of hair to pass, to him that is preferable than cutting it off because he has, like, superstitions about it,' Rogen said. Wolff has been in Trump's firing line after claiming on The Daily Beast Podcast last week that the president's war on Harvard stems, at least in part, from a personal grudge over being rejected by the school. 'That story is totally FALSE, I never applied to Harvard,' Trump fumed on Truth Social Monday. 'I graduated from the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He is upset because his book about me was a total 'BOMB.' Nobody wanted it, because his 'reporting' and reputation is so bad!' Wolff's most recent book, All or Nothing: How Trump Recaptured America, also drew an angry outburst from the president at the time of its release in February. Trump called the book a 'total FAKE JOB' and 'obviously fictitious.'
