'We showed our persistence and perseverance during those times when we were losing and behind.' Beating Challenges Team overcame challenges from 17 other clubs to win the tournament, claim a $750,000 prize and secure 1,000 Club Championship points, taking the team to second place on the Club Championship table. Jiahao 'Zoe' Chen was named the MVP following the impressive comeback win in the final. He will receive an additional $10,000 and the MVP medal to recognise his achievements. Discussing the significance of the win and how the tournament has supported the team to elevate their profile internationally, Bicheng 'YiNuo' Xu said: ' is very well known in China, I think that everyone in China who has an interest in esports has heard of us. Nova Esports finish third at KWC, claim RM1.3 million payday
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian side Nova Esports did the country proud after finishing third at the Honor of Kings World Cup (KWC) in Riyadh today (July 26). Nova churned out a 3-0 win over Twisted Minds in the third-place playoff to walk away with a a hefty US310,000 (RM1.3 million) in prize money. Nova had earlier beaten OG 4-0 in the quarterfinals but lost 4-1 to TT Global in the semi-finals. will play TT Global for the title later today. Nova was one of three Malaysian or Malaysian-linked sides that competed at KWC, the other two being Black Shrew Esports and Alpha Gaming. This is not the first time Nova has won big this year. They emerged victorious during Season 3 of the Honor of Kings (HoK) Invitational in Manila in March to claim US$100,000 (RM446,000) in prize money.
