See Real-Life Couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco Go to Some Very Dark Places in Disturbing 'Together 'Trailer
Dave Franco and Alison Brie's (onscreen) relationship is undoubtedly put to the test in Together. Neon released a teaser trailer for the upcoming Michael Shanks-written and directed horror flick on Wednesday, March 19, which opens with a blissfully in-love Millie (Brie, 42) being carried by her husband Tim (Franco, 39) into their cozy-looking new home under a canopy of trees. The trailer soon shows just how those supernatural entities unfold, beginning with a sighting of two dogs in the forest that stand still in their tracks, as if frozen in time. Tim is next shown looking into a bathroom mirror, pulling a seemingly never-ending black string from inside his mouth, before Millie, who is presumably a teacher, peers down at a drawing done by one of her students: two fire-tailed dogs that appear conjoined at their heads, foaming at the mouth. Near the end of the preview, Tim tells Millie, "I love you," to which she responds, "I love you too." Together, Shanks' directorial debut, reunites Brie and Franco (who also co-produced) for the first time on-screen since the couple costarred in 2017's The Little Hours and The Disaster Artist. Franco also directed his wife in 2023's Somebody I Used to Know. 'With a move to the countryside already testing the limits of a couple's relationship, a supernatural encounter begins an extreme transformation of their love, their lives, and their flesh,' per a synopsis from the 2025 Sundance Film Festival, where Together first premiered in January. Seth Rogen addresses James Franco saying their friendship is ‘over'
Seth Rogen has addressed James Franco's revelation that his friendship with his former co-star is 'over'. The pair first met while starring in 1999 teen series Freaks and Geeks and went on to work together on a string of hit movies, including Pineapple Express (2008), The Interview (2014) andThe Disaster Artist (2017). When Franco was accused of sexual misconduct in January 2018, Rogen publicly distanced himself from the actor after originally supporting him – something Franco described as 'hurtful'. This prompted Franco, in a Variety interview published in October 2024, to reveal that the pair are no longer in touch, stating: 'I haven't talked to Seth. I love Seth. We had 20 great years together, but I guess it's over. And not for lack of trying. I've told him how much he's meant to me.' Rogen, who will next appear in Apple TV+ series The Studio, has now been asked about this comment and, despite 'not being happy' with the question, he told Esquire: 'Honestly, I absorb so little media that it really wasn't on my radar.' In an interview with The Times in 2021, Rogen said of the multiple allegations against Franco: 'What I can say is that I despise abuse and harassment and I would never cover or conceal the actions of someone doing it, or knowingly put someone in a situation where they were around someone like that. 'The truth is that I have not and I do not plan to [work with Franco] right now.' In 2018, five women – including four of Franco's former pupils – came forward with allegations of sexually inappropriate behavior by the 46-year-old. At the time, Franco said the allegations were 'not accurate' but that he did not want to 'shut down' people who 'did not have a voice.' Two of his accusers, Sarah Tither-Kaplan and Toni Gaal – both of whom were taught by Franco at the Playhouse West Studio 4 school he co-founded in 2014 – went on to seek legal action in 2019. In June 2021, it was reported that Franco had agreed to pay $2.23m (£1.67m) to settle the suit, which alleged that he and his business partners had 'engaged in widespread inappropriate and sexually charged behavior towards female students by sexualizing their power as a teacher and an employer by dangling the opportunity for roles in their projects.' The allegations in the lawsuit had referred to a 'sex scenes' masterclass taught by Franco, in which he was accused of having 'intimidated them into performing gratuitous sex scenes.' Elsewhere in the Variety interview, Franco said he is 'so grateful to be working' after starring in Italian director Claudio Giovannesi's Hey Joe. 'I did go through a lawsuit, and during that lawsuit I wasn't working,' he continued. 'But then Covid hit so everybody wasn't working. So, I don't know, it was all… I mean, we were all kind of in it. So it was sort of like, 'I don't know what I am.'' 'But I did certainly use the time to, I hope, good purpose. And whatever had been going on with me before, I had to change my whole way of life. So I am proud of the kind of work I did during that time. And yeah, I wasn't working in movies, but I certainly was doing a lot of work to change who I was.' He added: 'As painful as it was – yes, of course rejection is painful, being told you're bad is painful. But ultimately that's kind of what I needed to just stop going the way I was going.' In 2021, Franco said he had been 'completely blind to power dynamics' as he admitted to having sex with his acting students.

Seth Rogen sidesteps question on James Franco friendship after #MeToo claims
Seth Rogen sidesteps question on James Franco friendship after #MeToo claims Show Caption Hide Caption Harvey Weinstein's rape conviction overturned: 'Sick to my stomach' A New York appeals court has overturned the 2020 landmark conviction of Harvey Weinstein, which popularized the #MeToo Movement. Seth Rogen is speaking out about the end of his friendship with James Franco — well, barely. In an interview with Esquire magazine published Tuesday, the comedian stayed relatively mum about his relationship with his "Freaks and Geeks" co-star. "Honestly, I absorb so little media that it really wasn't on my radar," Rogen told Esquire. The magazine noted, "That is all he wants to say about that" and "he's clearly not surprised to get the question, and he's just as clearly not happy about it" after being asked about his former friend. In an interview with Variety published in October, Franco got candid about a falling out with Rogen after a wave of #MeToo sexual misconduct allegations in the 2010s. 'We had 20 great years': James Franco says Seth Rogen friendship 'over' after #MeToo fallout "I haven't talked to Seth. I love Seth, we had 20 great years together, but I guess it's over. And not for lack of trying. I've told him how much he's meant to me," Franco told Variety in the interview. Rogen and Franco, who met as teenagers in Hollywood, worked together on famous projects such as "Freaks and Geeks," "The Disaster Artist," "Pineapple Express" and "This Is The End." But in real life, things have become complicated. James Franco in 2021: 'I don't want Seth' to answer for me In 2021, Franco candidly spoke about his sexual misconduct allegations and the end of his relationship with Rogen, who told Britain's The Sunday Times earlier that year that he had no plans to work with his ex-friend again. The Oscar nominee reflected on Rogen's comments during an interview with host Jess Cagle on SiriusXM's "The Jess Cagle Podcast" in December 2021. "Of course it was hurtful in context, but I get it. He had to answer for me, 'cause I was silent. He had to answer for me and I don't want that. And so that's why it's one of the main reasons I wanted to talk to you today. I don't want Seth or my brother (actor Dave Franco) or anyone to have to answer for me anymore," Franco told Cagle during the interview. Franco added in the 2021 interview that, "We didn't have one fight for 20 years. Not one fight. He was my absolute closest work friend, collaborator. And we just gelled and what he said is true: We aren't working together right now, and we don't have any plans to work together." Franco previously DM'd underage girl on Instagram, stoking controversy The events that led to their downfall date back a decade. In 2014, Franco, then 35, made headlines after he asked out a 17-year-old girl on Instagram (He later apologized). That year, Franco and Rogen both joked about the infamous incident on "SNL" during respective hosting stints. "I do look back at a joke I made on 'Saturday Night Live' in 2014 and I very much regret making that joke," Rogen later said. "It was a terrible joke, honestly. And I also look back to that interview in 2018 where I comment that I would keep working with James, and the truth is that I have not and I do not plan to right now." In June 2021, Franco agreed to pay $2.2 million to settle a sexual misconduct lawsuit brought against him by his former acting students, who alleged that he pushed students into increasingly sexual and exploitive scenes on camera at his now-shuttered Studio 4 acting and filmmaking school, which boasted locations in Los Angeles and New York City.
