Oman wins 6 awards at Tunis Arab Radio & TV Festival
TUNIS: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Information, swept six prizes at the 25th Arab Radio and Television Festival in Tunis.
Oman Radio earned two golds for 'Shadows of Mercy,' a biographical series on legendary charitable figures and for its youth-focused tech programme exploring virtual reality career paths. Both shows were presented by Khaled al Salami and directed by Asaad al Raisi, with production teams led by Khaled al Hajri (Shadows of Mercy) and Anas al Mashfiri and Khaled al Bada'i (Youth Tech).
A Silver Award went to 'Majra' in the Science category. Produced by Ahmed al Kalbani and directed by Asaad al Raisi, the series examines AI's transformative role across the environment, energy and economy. The documentary 'Without Identity,' produced by Anas al Mashfiri and directed by Mohammed al Shamli, also took silver for its hard-hitting investigation into human trafficking and organ smuggling.
In the Arab Song Competition, the ballad 'Mawtan Al Jalal' (lyrics by Hisham al Saqri; composition by Asaad al Raisi; vocals by Abdul Hamid al Kiyumi) claimed second place. The Sultanate of Oman TV won silver for 'Ramsa,' a talk show produced by Mohammed al Dhabouni, hosted by Fahd al Mashaykhi and directed by Saeed Taman. — ONA
