I tested a £9.99 lip stain dupe on an 8 hour flight & compared it to the Huda Beauty pen that's double the price

A BEAUTY lover put the viral Huda Beauty lip stain to test against a £9.99 drugstore product and was shocked at the result. 'Honest' make-up reviewer Amber Pitkin has become known on TikTok for her no-nonsense product tests, and this time she pitted the £22 Huda Beauty lip stain against Rimmel's £9.99 version. 4 In her video, she applied both before an eight hour long-haul flight, complete with multiple meals, countless drinks, snacks, naps, and all the other things that put a lipstick to the ultimate test. Amber began by pointing out the differences before take-off. The Huda Beauty stain comes with a fuzzy applicator, which is great for filling and blending the middle of the lips, but a bit tricky when it comes to drawing a precise line. Rimmel 's was more like a felt tip pen, meaning you can be super accurate, although it doesn't have quite the same plush feel. 4 Side-by-side, both shades looked near-identical at the start. But after eight hours in the air, the verdict was in. The Huda Beauty side had worn slightly better, but in her words: 'Honestly, they're really similar. Rimmel has got you.' Now, Huda Beauty fans will tell you the brand is known for its high-quality, trend-setting products and there's no denying the lip stain gives a gorgeous, long-lasting finish fresh out of the tube. But there's been a growing whisper online about the product drying out too quickly. I get stopped in the street by people asking where my perfume's from - it's a dupe of a designer scent & saves me £135 Comments from beauty lovers range from 'Mine dried up after one use' to 'It was gorgeous and long-lasting but I ran out after my second use' and 'Mine doesn't work.' Having tried the product myself, I can confirm the initial results really do live up to the hype, it's rich, smooth, and delivers that just-bitten look perfectly. But, sadly, mine also dried out after just a short while, echoing some of those online reviews. That's where Rimmel's bargain £9.99 dupe could have the upper hand. While it may not carry the same viral prestige, it delivers a look so close to Huda's at less than half the price, you could buy two and still have change for a coffee. So if you want a budget-friendly alternative that will see you through a day (or a long-haul flight) with your pout intact, Rimmel's your runway-ready winner. Beauty bargains You can buy the Rimmel lip ink stain at Superdrug for just £9.99. The drugstore even has a 3 for 2 offer so you can stock up on your favourite colours. Superdrug is also offering up some great beauty swaps. The drugstore is now s tocking the cult Aussie beauty brand MCoBeauty, which is known for offering affordable versions of high end products. Elsewhere, fans have spotted the dupes of the cult favourite Summer Fridays lip balm in Boots selling for just £3. Meanwhile, a wedding make-up artist did a full face of glam in Primark make-up, revealing her top Charlotte Tilbury dupe that you can buy for £6 in Primark. Best beauty dupes Fabulous' Beauty Editor, Tara Ledden revealed the cheaper version of your favourite beauty products that you should have in your cupboard. *If you click on a link in this boxout we will earn affiliate revenue "A huge 55% of us would like to spend less on our beauty routines according to new research from E.l.f. Cosmetics, so it's no wonder there's millions of #dupe videos on Tiktok. "While some dupes are easy to spot given their look-a-like packing, they're often lacking when it comes to the contents. "In fact, some of the best dupes look nothing like the luxury product they're a dead-ringer for - and, trust me, they're the ones you want." REAL: Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer, £32.50 DUPE: Natural Collection Bronzer, £3.50 which is a saving of £29. The Natural Collection Bronzer comes in more shades, although it doesn't have a mirror in the compact. REAL: Milk Make-up Hydro-Grip Primer, £35 DUPE: E.l.f. Power Grip Primer, £10. These two share a similar green hue, as well as the same long-wearing, mattifying properties - although, E.l.f's is so popular it's just as hard to get hold of. REAL: Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick, £28 DUPE: L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Satin Lipstick Beige A Nu, £8.99. The shades of these two lipsticks are virtually identical on the lips, although while Charlotte Tilbury's is matte, the L'Oreal Paris Lipstick has a satin finish - which actually makes it more comfortable if you're wearing all day. REAL: Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation, £40 DUPE: Collection Lasting Perfection Matte Foundation, £6.99. While they don't look alike from the outside, the formula, consistency and staying power of both foundations is pretty similar - unfortunately, the Collection only comes in 20 shades vs Estee Lauder's 60 options.

Chipotle's avocado-inspired lip stain ‘Lipotle' is back

Chipotle and makeup brand Wonderskin are relaunching their popular 'Lipotle' metallic green lip stain, inspired by avocados. The lip stain, which appears green upon application, transforms into a natural pink shade once peeled off. The 'Lipotle' Wonder Blading Peel & Reveal Lip Stain Kit will be available from Tuesday, July 15, at 12 p.m. EST on Wonderskin's website, retailing for $29. The product, which sold out quickly during its initial launch, is designed to be long-lasting for up to 10 hours and smudge-proof, even when eating. Both companies noted significant public demand for the lip stain's return, with Wonderskin receiving over 10,000 requests.
