One dead in multi-vehicle crash on Missouri Route 6
The multi-vehicle crash around occurred around 3:30 p.m. as a 49-year-old Clarksdale, Missouri, woman was traveling east on State Route 6 in a 2017 Lincoln MKZ and crossed the center line, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report.
Her vehicle struck the rear driver's side of a 2021 Nissan Rouge occupied by a 63-year-old St. Joseph woman and a 9-year-old girl, of St. Joseph. The Nissan went off the roadway and hit a concrete barrier. The 63-year-old and 9-year-old sustained minor injuries.
The driver of the Lincoln then went off the roadway, struck a concrete barrier, returned to the highway, crossed the center line and clipped the rear driver's side of a 2016 Ford F150. The Ford was driven by a 44-year-old St. Joseph man who was not injured.
After hitting the Ford, the 49-year-old driver struck the front of a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe driver by a 37-year-old St. Joseph woman. A 9-year-old boy, who sustained moderate injuries, and 12-year-old girl, who had minor injuries, were passengers in the Tahoe.
The 49-year-old Clarksdale woman was pronounced dead at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph, according to the crash report.
All occupants and drivers in the crash were wearing seat belts, except the 37-year-old St. Joseph woman.
The Missouri Department of Transportation and law enforcement closed down State Route 6 from Route W to Hurlingen Road for several hours Monday night.

Woman killed and her 2 children hospitalized after Bay Area traffic crash
A woman died and her two children were hospitalized Thursday after a traffic collision in San Mateo, police said. Officers, responding to a collision report in the area of Alameda de las Pulgas and Highway 92 around 6:17 p.m., discovered two vehicles, including a Ford SUV and a Toyota Prius, at the scene, according to the San Mateo Police Department. The Prius driver, a 30-year-old woman, died at the scene, police said. She was not immediately identified. The woman's two children, boys ages 5 and 7, were brought to a nearby hospital for treatment and were listed in critical but stable condition, police said. The Ford SUV's driver, a man, was also brought to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, police said. The identify of the man, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was being withheld, police said. Investigators said that the Ford's driver failed to stop at the eastbound Highway 92 off-ramp at Alameda de las Pulgas during a red light when the Prius was traveling northbound during a green light. The Ford then broadsided the Prius, police said. Police said they had not yet determined why the driver of the Ford did not stop, but said drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash.

Dundas homicide victim was a single dad
Zachary Shuman was a single dad raising his three-year-old daughter, before he was killed in a shooting in a Dundas parking lot Sunday. In the aftermath of the July 27 shooting, the 25-year-old's parents are now faced with 'the unimaginable loss of their son while stepping in to raise their granddaughter,' says a GoFundMe organized by the family of Shuman's brother-in-law, who are in New York. 'Zachary's sudden death has deeply shaken his family,' the online fundraiser says. This includes his sister, whose infant son was born just six days before the homicide and who will never be able to meet his 'uncle Zack.' 'This tragedy has left a hole that cannot be filled,' the family says, adding any donations will help with the costs of raising Shuman's daughter and supporting the family as they heal. As of Thursday afternoon, the GoFundMe had raised just under US$27,000, nearly reaching its $28,000 goal. Friends sharing the online fundraiser describe Shuman as having 'the biggest heart' and being 'the most caring friend.' Hamilton police homicide detectives continue to investigate the shooting, which happened around 5 p.m. in a parking lot on Governors Road, near Ogilvie Street. Police believe Shuman, who was driving a grey Dodge Ram pickup truck, had a brief interaction with the driver of a blue Ford Edge in the nearby Metro parking lot shortly before the shooting. Both vehicles then travelled to the parking lot where the shooting occurred and witnesses saw the Ford leaving.
