This quick and easy recipe shows how to make delicious South Indian peanut chutney at home, bringing authentic flavour and nutrition to your idli, dosa, or favourite meals
Idli and dosa hold a special place in South Indian cuisine, loved across the country for their mild flavour and nutritional value. Yet, the real joy of these dishes comes alive when paired with a flavourful chutney, and peanut chutney is a true favourite.
Its rich aroma and nutty taste elevate every bite, making a simple meal unforgettable. While many enjoy it at South Indian restaurants, few realise how quick and easy it is to prepare at home, with results that rival any eatery.
This chutney requires only a handful of ingredients and minimal time. Homemaker Manju told Local18 that whenever she prepares South Indian dishes, especially idli or dosa, she never skips making peanut chutney. 'It's so easy and tasty," she says. 'All you need are 4–5 cups of peanuts, 2 green chillies, 8–10 curry leaves, 1 teaspoon mustard seeds, lemon, refined oil, and salt."
First, roast the peanuts until golden and remove their skins.
In a mixer, blend the peanuts with green chillies, lemon juice, salt to taste, and about half a cup of water.
If the mixture feels too thick, add more water. Some people also like to add roasted gram dal for extra texture and flavour.
In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add a pinch of red chilli powder to taste, creating a fragrant tempering. Pour this tempering over the chutney and mix well.
Your delicious peanut chutney is now ready to serve. Enjoy it with idli, dosa, or even alongside your favourite snacks.

Smarter Workouts, Sharper Physique: Decoding Hrithik Roshan's War 2 Training

At 51, Hrithik Roshan's War 2 physique isn't just about size. It's a masterclass in smart, sustainable fitness. Hrithik Roshan is back as secret agent Kabir Dhaliwal in War 2. The 51-year-old 'Greek God' of Bollywood is setting screens ablaze with his muscular arms in the spy thriller movie. For this action flick, the actor underwent a physical transformation. But this transformation wasn't about lifting the heaviest weights in the gym. 'The core objective was to elevate the character, not reinvent him," says Swapneel Hazare, Hrithik Roshan 's long-time fitness trainer, in an interview with Health Shots. He said, 'We wanted to retain the iconic silhouette but bring more mass, more strength, and a more imposing screen presence. That meant bigger delts, fuller arms, and a tapered waist to exaggerate the V-taper, the classic hero proportion." Hrithik Roshan's Body For War 2 Given Hrithik's history of knee and back injuries, heavy barbell training was off the table. Instead, Hazare relied on high-rep, high-density workouts using supersets, drop sets, and controlled tempo. This approach triggered hypertrophy without overloading joints. The routine followed a four-day split – chest, back, legs, and arms – with steady-state cardio for fat management and functional drills for agility. 'Without that balance, the physique would have looked heavy and sluggish. With it, you get speed, presence, and raw power," says Swapneel. Recovery as the Game-Changer For Hrithik, recovery wasn't an afterthought. It was part of the plan. Daily cooldowns were tailored to his pain points, while recovery therapies included deep tissue massage, ice baths, infrared saunas, and even hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Sleep, however, was the keystone. 'We fought for seven hours of high-quality sleep with strict shutdown rituals and magnesium protocols," Swapneel notes. Wisdom Over Ego Swapneel has trained Hrithik since 2018 and says two things define him. 'His discipline. His obsession with self-mastery. He shows up, day in and day out, with surgical focus. Evolved? His wisdom. In his younger years, he would power through but now, he optimizes. He understands how sleep, hydration, micronutrients, and circadian rhythm all sync to influence results. That level of bio-integration only comes with experience," he says. For younger men chasing a midlife physique like Hrithik's, the advice is simple. There are no shortcuts. This Mumbai ‘Vet Expert' Has Just 800 Followers. But It Includes Sachin Tendulkar's Kids. She Is...

Saaniya is the granddaughter of renowned Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai, one of the leading personalities in the food industry, maintaining ties with international food chains. A vet expert from Mumbai, Saaniya Chandhok, hit the headlines on Thursday, as reports claimed she got engaged to legendary Sachin Tendulkar's son, Arjun, a day earlier. No official statement has been made by the two families about the engagement ceremony, but the mark of a new beginning in junior Tendulkar's life has raised curiosity about Saaniya. Arjun, 25, who has been part of the Mumbai Indians since 2021, presented a ring to Saaniya in a private ceremony attended only by close friends and family members on Wednesday. Ever since the news of the engagement, fans have been wondering about Saaniya and who the new member of the Tendulkar family is. Who is Saaniya Chandhok? According to a report by India Today, Saaniya is the granddaughter of renowned Mumbai businessman Ravi Ghai, who is one of the leading personalities in the hospitality and food industry, maintaining ties with InterContinental Hotel and Brooklyn Creamery. The report also claims Arjun's fiancée is the founder of Mumbai-based Mr. Paws Pet Spa & Store LLP, which is an established brand known for pet grooming services. In a post earlier this year, the brand confirmed Saaniya is a certified Veterinary Technician from WVS, having completed her ABC programme. Apart from this, Saaniya is reportedly involved in the Ghai family's business activities and manages multiple companies. Despite hailing from a business tycoon's family, Saaniya maintains a low profile on social media, with just over 800 followers and only 26 posts on her private Instagram account. Her follower account, though, includes Arjun and his sister Sara Tendulkar, with whom she has been clicked and appeared in social media posts several times.
