Brother of missing man Robert Kincaid flying to Paris to search for him

BBC News3 days ago
The brother of a Belfast man who has been missing for nearly two weeks is flying to Paris on Wednesday to continue the family's search in person. Robert Kincaid, 38, was due to get a connecting flight to Dublin from Charles de Gaulle airport in the French capital on Thursday 17 July, after working on an oil rig in Benin, west Africa. The last time he spoke to his family was after he missed his flight that evening, behaviour which his father says is "out of character".A Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson told BBC News NI they are "supporting the family of a British man who is missing in France".
"He was just an ordinary big lad just wanting to come home. He was a happy-go-larry fella and then all of a sudden all this happened," his father Robert Kincaid told BBC Radio Ulster's Good Morning Ulster programme.Mr Kincaid's family tried to ring his phone again that evening but say it was answered by a man who they believe was speaking French. The phone then became disconnected which his father said was very unusual as Robert would normally have been in contact with his mother or friends "every day without fail".
"It's terrible, his mothers is in bits," his father added. "We've been on to the embassy, we've been on to the foreign office, we've been on to the police. We've contacted everybody to find out what is actually going on. "Where did he go after he left the airport? We know he's not in the airport, but we want to get the cameras to see where he went, or who he went with. "So we're in the process of doing that with the police, but that'll probably take time."
Leaflets and t-shirts
Mr Kincaid's brother and a family friend are due to meet a representative from the British Embassy in Paris who will help them speak to French authorities. The pair also have leaflets and t-shirts printed out with his image on them to help raise awareness. A Foreign Office spokesperson told BBC News NI they are supporting the family and "are in contact with the local authorities".
His father told BBC News NI that Robert's disappearance is "totally out of character" and the family are living in a "nightmare"."So if we can get this out to everybody to see, even one person maybe knows or has seen him, I'd be grateful.""Just thinking what is going on or what's happening. It's not knowing is the whole thing with the family," he added. "At the start we thought maybe Robert had had a few pints in the airport and that's why he missed his flight but now we're starting to think differently, has someone lifted his phone? Has he left it down somewhere? We don't know, it's just a mystery," he added. "Something's went wrong somewhere down the line and we need to find out."

Emmerdale cruel John Sugden twist 'foreshadows' final showdown with Robert

Emmerdale's latest episode saw John Sugden's cruel plan to keep Robert Sugden on side revealed to viewers, and with that it may have teased a final showdown for the brothers There was a worrying scene on Emmerdale on Friday night that saw John Sugden seemingly plot revenge on his brother Robert Sugden. Despite them appearing to clear the air, or at least come to an agreement, John's true agenda was revealed to fans. ‌ This week John was left in hospital after Robert attacked him during a tense showdown. Robert had no idea though that John was recording the moment he struck him at the back of the head with a spanner. ‌ Viewers learned this on Friday, when the end of the episode showed John watching it back on his laptop. It comes amid fans believing Robert's own real plan was given away in the episode, and he might not be playing nicely has he's claimed. ‌ We'd already seen John feign fear over Robert visiting him, before Robert practically begged his villainous brother for forgiveness. John threatened him, telling him that if he went back on his word in regards to dropping his vendetta as well as leaving Aaron Dingle alone, he "knew" what he would do. Robert obviously didn't know that John had set up the attack after goading him, leading him to his camper van where a camera was recording. In the footage we only see the moment John walks towards home and is struck by Robert with the tool. ‌ John falls to the ground as Robert watches on. It likely also caught the moment Robert wiped the tool and hid it, but even the attack alone is enough for John to get Robert locked up given the crime he spent six years in prison for. Fans had actually noticed the mirroring of events, as in 2019 Robert attacked Lee Posner in similar circumstances. Robert had confronted Lee after he raped his sister Victoria Sugden, and Lee goaded him until Robert snapped. ‌ John orchestrated Robert's latest crime, and now he has him exactly where he needs him. But John is ready and waiting for his brother to turn on him again, keeping hold of the video evidence to use if necessary to get rid of Robert. But could it all be foreshadowing a major showdown? Maybe the current battle between the brothers is just the beginning and a taster of John's comeuppance at the hands of Robert. Robert more than any other characters is well and truly onto John and his dark crimes. If he manages to find the proof and expose him, John will hopefully face his downfall and be punished for his actions, including the murder of Nate Robinson. So will it come down to another John vs Robert battle at the end, and was the attack and John's actions, with John threatening revenge if Robert goes against him, all a massive hint of what's ahead? If so, it could be a major tease that the storyline will conclude with Robert taking John down as fans are hoping for, and John's final attempts to come out on top. Ghislaine Maxwell quietly moved out of Florida prison while seeking Trump pardon

Jeffrey Epstein's accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell has been quietly transferred from a Florida federal prison to a lower-security facility in Texas as she seeks a pardon from President Donald Trump. Maxwell's move out of Federal Correctional Institution Tallahassee was confirmed by the Bureau of Prisons on Friday, amid her push for a deal to speak on the late Epstein and be released. 'We can confirm, Ghislaine Maxwell is in the custody of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) at the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Bryan in Bryan, Texas,' stated BOP inmate locator official Benjamin O'Cone. The reason Maxwell, 63, was moved was not immediately clear. Maxwell's attorney David Oscar Markus also confirmed that his client was sent to the Texas facility but said 'we have no other comment', according to USA Today. The disgraced British socialite in 2022 was sentenced to 20 years for helping convicted sex offender Epstein sexually abuse underage girls. About a month after her sentencing, she was transferred from the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn to FCI Tallahassee, which is a 'low security' prison for men and women. FCP Bryan is a 'minimum security' camp only housing women. Maxwell was interviewed by Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche of the Justice Department for two straight days last week. She 'answered every single question' and 'never invoked a privilege, never declined to answer', Markus said. The Justice Department brokered the interview despite asking the US Supreme Court to reject Maxwell's appeal of her conviction. The Trump administration continues to face criticism after the Justice Department and FBI last month said there is no incriminating Epstein client list, breaking from an earlier promise to disclose the documents. More Trending Trump has not ruled out pardoning Maxwell. 'I'm allowed to do it, but it's something I haven't thought about,' he said a week ago. Markus said of a possible commutation for Maxwell: 'The president said earlier he has the power to do so, we hope he exercises that power in the right way.'
