Daisy Ridley isn't a 'badly behaved' actor
Daisy Ridley is adamant she isn't a Hollywood "a*******".
The 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' actress admits she knows some actors behave badly but she insists she's different because she always "turns up on time", works hard and knows her lines.
She told The Independent newspapeR: "I'm not an a*******! That seems like a funny thing to say, but over time, you realise people [in Hollywood] behave really badly. I'm hardworking; I turn up on time; I know my lines; I know where I need to be."
Daisy shot to international stardom after landing the lead role in the 2015 'Star Wars' instalment, and she admits it was "stressful" to be catapulted into the spotlight when she was in her early 20s but she feels grateful for the opportunities it gave her.
She added: "I don't think it was 'Star Wars' itself that caused stress. It was being a 20-year-old who was cast in something that a lot of people watch – suddenly standing in a spotlight ..
"I don't think I've been pigeonholed. Honestly, I think 'Star Wars' has given me choices. It's why I have the career I have."
Daisy is set to reprise her role as Rey in another 'Star Wars' movie called 'Star Wars: New Jedi Order' which has been shrouded in secrecy - and the actress is adamant she's happy about returning to the sci-fi franchise.
She added: "Time has not changed how I feel [about 'Star Wars']. If I didn't feel excited by the story, I wouldn't be doing it."
Daisy previously opened up about the project in an interview with Collider, saying: "I don't know if I'd be a producer on it, but certainly I have been very involved. Well, not very involved, but I'm involved in as much as I know what's going on.
"I know the story. I know what's going on with the script. So, I'm aware of all of that."
The 'Cleaner' star added: "What's been really wonderful over the last few years is being more involved from the start to the finish, is really coming to set knowing this is the absolute best way we can tell this story, these are the best actors for the job, this is the best crew for the job. Having that confidence is so lovely.
"And it's not that I didn't have that before, but I'm much more cognizant of it now. So, in that way, I'm looking forward to turning up really knowing the ins and outs and what the journey has been, and we're arriving at the absolute best place to tell this particular story."

Ridley Scott reveals the genre of film he still wants to direct
Ridley Scott always tries to "get his way" on set. The 87-year-old moviemaker has helmed classics such as The Martian, Thelma and Louise and titles like House of Gucci in more recent years but admitted when asked about wanting to "fix" anything he has done that he often is just ready to move onto the "next case" by the time one project is finished. He told Collider: "That's a tough question because I tend to do quite big movies. By the time they finish these scale movies, you're like, 'Enough! "Right?' Next case.' So, you're starting to weaken. To me, it's like a sport. You can't weaken, otherwise you're gonna get beaten. I will go to the last dying argument to try and get my way. Then there's a moment where you think, 'You know what? F*** it. Go for it.' But the thing I love about all the platforms, and I started to love about discs, but we're way beyond that now, is my film, which is now 50 years old, called The Duellists. It runs every night online. So, to me, instead of being buried somewhere in some dark vault, it's very healthy to see it out there still playing." Despite his years in the film industry, Scott revealed that he still wants to direct a Western or a musical. He said: "If they're good enough, and you know it's not the moment because everyone's afraid of it, you keep it sitting, waiting, and then come back. So, I have a Western, which is the best Western I've ever read. It was on a shelf of an author who had died. It's from his estate. We tracked it. I bought the script, so I own it, and the moment will come to make it. So, I still have to do a musical. I still have to do a pirate movie. I still have to do a Western."

Rap star Logic was determined to become a film direclt
Logic is determined to have a career in filmmaking. The 35-year-old rapper - whose real name is Sir Robert Bryson Hall II - has been known for his contribution to the music industry but recently helmed the comedy-drama Paradise Records and claimed that "nothing will stop" him from exploring his new career. He told Collider: "Nothing will stop me from making films. I'm going to make movies, and I'm going to do it my way. I will have full creative control and final cut, or you can eat my ass. This is my mentality because we, as creatives and artists, are told, 'No and no, and this is why, XYZ.' F*** that s***. Because if you don't want to give me the money, I'll just go do it myself and then I will sell it or make money from it. That's not arrogance. That's, 'F*** you for telling me no so long that I thought I couldn't do it,' and then woke up one day after Kevin Smith spit in my face and was like, 'Do this!'" The Under Pressure hitmaker added that he has before "kind of lost" within himself in the last few years, and he was "terrified" to jump ship so he could be behind the camera. He said: "For the last five years, or at least for three of those years, I was kind of lost, trying to figure out what I wanted to do. It always kept coming back to film, like, 'Make film, make film' because I was so terrified to do it. So being able to talk to you gives me this feeling that I had when I was younger — not like I'm trying to chase like a crack pipe or anything, but it's a fun feeling is what I'm saying."

Mia Goth joins cast of Star Wars: Starfighter
Mia Goth has joined the cast of Star Wars: Starfighter. The 31-year-old actress will reportedly join Ryan Gosling in the upcoming sci-fi movie- which is to be directed by Shawn Levy and is in development at Lucasfilms - and will begin shooting later this year before a May 2027 release, according to Deadline. Little is known about Goth's role in the film - which will act as a standalone movie within the space opera franchise - but it will be set five years after 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, with the director recently revealing it's a whole "new adventure" for fans. As quoted by Deadline, Levy, 56, said: 'There are many rumours, some true, some not. … This is not a prequel, this is not a sequel. It's a new adventure.' Gosling, 44, gushed: 'There is not a more perfect filmmaker for this particular story than Shawn." The script comes from Jonathan Tropper, who has spent the past two years working on it. The official details follow a report that Mikey Madison allegedly turned down a role in the film. The 'Anora' actress - who was named Best Actress at this year's Academy Awards - was offered a role in the flick but passed on the part, according to Variety. Levy has been working on the movie with Lucasfilm since 2022. Character and plot details remain unknown but last year, Levy said he is not planning to connect his work to any other films or TV shows in the long-running series. Speaking on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, he said: "I'll say that the experience of crafting this story has forced me to think about that question. Because there's only so many times that 'Star Wars' movies can revisit the same section of the timeline, and so it's really forced me, because I don't want to do a 'Star Wars' movie that is redundant to others, nor am I interested in doing one that has to serve another movie." The filmmaker - who has teamed up with his The Adam Project co-writer Tropper on the project - added he was making the flick with "tone and characters" at the forefront. He said: "I really wanted to craft something that felt organic to me, both in tone and characters, so I think that there is certainly the Force and a connection to something bigger than our individual selves. "And the way that that can make us powerful, those themes, combined with visual delight and wish fulfilment, that's Star Wars to me."
