Mariah Carey's $75,000-a-month rented Connecticut estate now for sale at $12.4 million

A Connecticut mansion rented by Mariah Carey for nearly two years is now available for purchase.
The 56-year-old music artist — who was spotted out in London last week — splashed out $75,000 a month for the 18,000 sq ft property, built in 1929, beginning in July 2023.
The New Canaan estate, which Carey once featured in a music video, has hit the real estate market for $12.4 million, according to Mansion Global.
Listing agent Danielle Malloy told the outlet, 'The quality and scale of this home are like no other.'
It boasts a four-bedroom guesthouse, wellness center with a gym, yoga studio, bar and lounge, sauna and massage room.
Carey reportedly worked on parts of her forthcoming 16th album, unofficially called MC16, at the palatial residence.

And a May 2024 social media video shows the singer on the grounds of the estate as she delivers her contribution to Muni Long's Made for Me remix.
In its nearly 100 years, the home has only had four owners including Carlos Hank Gonzalez, a Mexico City mayor. In the 80s he contributed the nine-ft-tall, 1,500ft-long brick and limestone wall at the front.
Then, in the 1990s, the structure underwent $8 million in renovations that included a 10,000 sq ft expansion where a new kitchen, outdoor courtyard and great room were designed, per Mansion Global.
'You can see New York City on a clear day,' Malloy told the publication of its 35 ft ceilings, two-story windows, mezzanine level and turret.
The listing says the great room was inspired by the 1999 film Entrapment, starring Sean Connery and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
In the movie the actor and actress rehearse their choreography for an art heist in Castle Duart, situated on the Isle of Mull in Scotland.
The latest homeowners scooped up the fanciful mansion in 2014 for $6.5 million before investing the equivalent in renovations over three years.
Known as Orchards End, the homeowners enlisted architect Dinyar Wadia to execute their vision.
In addition to modernizing it, 'They wanted to preserve the integrity of the home,' Malloy said.
The original design was by New York architect William B. Tubby, whose repertoire included Waveny House in New Canaan, Dunnellen Hall in Greenwich, Connecticut, and the William H. Childs House in Brooklyn, Mansion Global noted.
Tubby incorporated 'a slate roof, a mix of hardwood, marble and limestone floors, high ceilings, detailed millwork and plasterwork, iron-framed windows, moldings and baseboards, wide and tall doorways, and built-ins.'
The first-floor rooms in the listing consist of an entry parlor, library, a game room, plus the great room.
There is also a kitchen complete with a marble island and heated marble floors, a dining room with murals painted by hand, a gallery foyer, butler's pantry and a conservatory with a terrace.
Meanwhile, the home's second floor is where potential buyers will find an office and eight bedrooms.
On the third level there is another game room, while the basement level is designated for media and wine rooms.
In total, the sprawling property offers 20,000 sq ft of indoor space — tallying the main and guest house.
There are a whopping 12 bedrooms, 12 full bathrooms and four half baths.
On the 6.26-acre lot there is a heated pool and spa and the wellness center is 5,000 sq ft.
There's a four-car garage, sports court, balcony, central vacuum, various terraces, a home theater, 12 fireplaces, a wine cellar and fountains.
About the neighborhood, Malloy confirmed, 'Oenoke is one of the most coveted and prestigious roads in New Canaan.'

Real Housewives star 'banned' from SoulCycle for performing intimate act with boyfriend DURING class

A former Bravo star was forbidden from returning to a fitness facility due to engaging in a bit too much PDA during an instructed class. A Real Housewives Of New York City castmember was banned from SoulCycle for making out with her boyfriend in the front row according to an upcoming podcast episode of Cult Of Body & Soul. Host Jess Rothschild interviewed a former instructor who alleged that someone on the RHONY cast had been banned according to Page Six on Monday. has reached out to representatives for Bravo and SoulCycle. The former instructor claimed: 'There was a former New York City Real Housewife that was banned from [SoulCycle's East 63rd Street location] because she was talking so loudly throughout the entire class to the point that it was so disruptive.' The fitness teacher did not indicate exactly when the incident who had occurred - or which reality star it was but went on to explain in detail what had happened. They said: 'She was making out with her boyfriend in the front row . . . doing a whole bunch of things up there. 'And then when the studio manager came up to them afterwards and was like "hi" — it wasn't an initial ban — they were like, "just to really establish the rules... if you're in the front row, we really want you following along with the class, we try not to have people talking."' However, the discussion did not end there and resulted in the banishment for the unnamed former RHONY star. The ex-spin teacher explained: 'And this former New York City Real Housewife starts grilling the manager, ripping into her, pulls the whole "Do you know who I am?" situation. 'And the manager ended up calling corporate and that woman ended up being banned.' This is not the only Real Housewives Of New York City news this month as one of it's reboot castmembers announced their departure after being accused of 'weaponizing' a past sexual assault in the season 15 finale. Earlier this month, Brynn Whitfield, 39, revealed stepping away from reality TV as shared the news on social media. 'After a lot of thought, I've made the decision to walk away from reality TV. For now,' she wrote in a lengthy statement posted on her Instagram Stories, adding that she wanted to 'pour every ounce of energy into building Hoppy,' the dating app she co-founded. 'The Real Housewives of New York City will always be one of the most fun, chaotic, and magical chapters of my life. It was the honor of a lifetime to help reboot such an iconic franchise,' she told her fans. 'From day one, I've believed RHONY is a fan's show — we're just temporary custodians of something that truly belongs to the viewers.' 'I hope I made you laugh (a lot), cry (a little) and more than anything — I hope there's a TV in heaven so that Mimi (who LIVED for her shows) could watch me and be proud,' she continued. 'RHONY without you is maybe not something I want to watch ❤️' said a fan after the shocking announcement. 'This is ridiculous. She was the best one on the cast,' wrote another. 'This actually made me sad. I'm excited for your new journey but I don't think the cast will be the same without you,' a die-hard follower stated. The former reality star, listed her reasons for leaving the show in a lengthy statement in her Instagram Stories including her desire to focus on the Hoppy dating app she co-founded 'This is sad because you were so great the first season, not so great the second season but I was hoping to see your redemption arc third season. Good luck to you!!' was another comment referring to the tempestuous season 15 reunion which aired earlier this year. This fan was devastated: 'I am breaking down in tears as I type.' Tension between Whitfield and castmate Ubah Hassan came to a head following allegations Hassan had accused Whitfield of sleeping with someone to be cast on the reality reboot. Her exit doesn't mean Whitfield is departing from her media career altogether. She will still host her podcast, Please See Below, along with publishing a book. Whitfield is not the only cast member to step away from the show. Fashion designer Rebecca Minkoff, 44, revealed in February she was bowing out after appearing in season 15, saying she wanted to 'focus on my wildly amazing 4 kids, my supportive husband, my business of 20 years, the Female Founder Collective, my podcast and MY BOOK.' She and Whitfield did not get along well after the latter mocked her for having her designs sold at a discount at Nordstrom Rack. 'Listen, she doesn't have to like my stuff. That's fine,' Minkoff conceded in a confessional, before declaring, 'I built a $100 million company.'

Actress ridiculed after CRYING that she has to shop at H&M due to financial struggles

MTV star B. Simone has been brutally mocked after tearfully claiming that she can no longer afford to shop at Bloomingdale's due to her dwindling finances. The actress and comedian, 35, broke down in tears over her money problems on an episode of her popular podcast, Let's Try This Again. 'My finances, the budgeting... you see how I am, nitpicking every little thing. I've never been like that!' she sobbed to friend Shekinah Yon. 'We were in Bloomingdale's yesterday, I was like, 'We have to go to H&M!'' she continued. 'I just don't have it to spend. The liquid. I'm used to having liquid.' The former Wild 'N Out star admitted that she'd invested most of her money into her own app. The app, which costs $9.99 a month, gives fans access to exclusive video podcasts, inspirational quotes, and the ability to connect with other subscribers. 'Because I've invested in this app and this platform I don't have the liquid,' she stated. 'I've got the money, but not yet. It's coming. I have it in assets. I have it in jewelry. But I'm used to seeing a certain amount in my account,' she added. Social media users slammed Simone over her comments, with many bringing up statements she'd made in the past about refusing to date a man with a 9-to-5 job. In 2020, the star told Nick Cannon that she only wanted to date entrepreneurs or a man with 'CEO status.' 'He can't be like clocking in and clocking out. No. I think entrepreneurs should date entrepreneurs… you're not going to understand my lifestyle,' she said at the time. 'You're not going to understand why I'm up at 3 a.m. He has to be an entrepreneur or moving into that direction.' Fans brought the comments back up following her H&M confession, with one writing on X (formerly Twitter), 'B. Simone once said that she will never date a guy who works a 9 to 5 job but now she can't even afford to spend money on clothes.' Another commented, 'Looks like she needs a 9-5 job to help her balance her lifestyle and finances.' A third wrote, 'This the same woman that was up and said "I'll never date a guy with a 9-5." Life has a funny way of humbling people I don't feel bad for her at all.' Another user joked, 'This is a damn tragedy. Ok folks it's time we set up a GoFundMe. H&M? No way, sweetie.' One fan asked, 'She used to be a millionaire. What happened?' A sixth commented, 'B. Simone said she couldn't date a 9-to-5 dude… now she broke, and 9-to-5 dudes have health insurance, 401(k)s, and credit scores over 700. God got jokes.' B. Simone shot to fame after joining MTV's long-running sketch comedy show Wild 'N Out in 2017. She spent nine seasons on the show and became one of its most popular cast members. Outside of the series, Simone managed to launch an acting career and starred in a number of star-studded reality shows, including VH1's Girls Cruise with Lil Kim and Mya, and Hip Hop Squares. Thanks to Wild 'N Out, Simone's comedy career also took off and led to her opening up for Martin Lawrence on tour. More recently, she's become known for her popular podcast Let's Try This Again, and is now focused on launching a community app.

Meghan McCain announced that she is expecting her third child - a baby boy. The 40-year-old shared the news during a conversation with JD Vance 's wife Usha on an upcoming episode of her Citizen McCain podcast obtained by People. 'I hope you don't mind - I wanted to let you in on something that is private that I haven't talked about publicly yet because one of the things I have so enjoyed about you and your husband is seeing how you incorporate your children in your life in so many ways,' she told the Second Lady. McCain made the announcement despite having only met Usha Vance minutes before the interview. She said she is currently in her second trimester - and that she was anxious about the third child. 'I'm very nervous about having a boy, and I'm very nervous about having three children. Very,' she said. The daughter of former Senator John McCain mentioned reading data suggesting three children is the most difficult number to manage. McCain and her husband, Ben Domenech, were married in November 2021. They already share Liberty, four, and Clover, two.
