'When you only use your Jewish identity to stand up and protest against Israel, the only Jewish state,' Mr Kozak told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
'And you stand with people who I think put the Jewish community in danger – then I really object to that.'

Democrats seek to block key vote by leaving Texas
Democratic lawmakers in Texas are leaving the state to deny Republicans the quorum needed to redraw the state's 38 congressional districts. Republicans are seeking to protect their narrow US House majority in next year's midterm elections. President Donald Trump has championed the redistricting plan, telling reporters he expects the effort to yield as many as five additional House Republicans. Republicans hold a narrow 220-212 majority in the House of Representatives, with three Democratic seats vacant after members' deaths. Democratic Representative James Talarico said the redistricting plan amounted to "rigging" the 2026 elections. "My Democratic colleagues and I just left the state of Texas to break quorum and stop Trump's redistricting power grab," Talarico said in the video posted on X on Sunday. Several other Texas Democrats said on X they were headed to Illinois, whose governor is Democrat JB Pritzker. Republican Governor Greg Abbott said in a statement on Sunday that any Democrat House member who didn't return would be removed from the Texas House. "Democrats hatched a deliberate plan not to show up for work, for the specific purpose of abdicating the duties of their office and thwarting the chamber's business", the governor said in his statement, adding that leaving amounted to an abandonment of the office. States are required to redistrict every 10 years based on the US Census but the Texas map was passed just four years ago by the Republican-dominated legislature. While mid-cycle redistricting occasionally takes place, it is usually prompted by a change in power at the legislature. Republicans have pursued redistricting in a special legislative session that will also address funding for flood prevention after the deadly July 4 flash flooding that killed more than 130. Under the current lines, Republicans control 25 seats, nearly two-thirds of the districts in a state that went for Trump last year by a 56 per cent to 42 per cent margin. Redistricting experts have said the plan could backfire if Republicans try to squeeze too many seats out of what is already considered a significantly skewed map.

Huda Beauty founder Huda Kattan's anti-Israel conspiracy theory video removed by TikTok
TikTok has removed an inflammatory anti- Israel video posted by celebrity beauty mogul and influencer Huda Kattan. Kattan, the founder and face of the billion-dollar brand Huda Beauty, shared a video to her more than 11 million followers on TikTok, accusing Israel of orchestrating World War I, World War II, the September 11 terrorist attacks and Hamas' attack on Israel on October 7. World War I (1914-1918) and World War II (1939-1945) both occurred before the State of Israel was established in 1948. 'All of the conspiracy theories coming out and a lot of evidence behind them — that Israel has been behind World War I, World War II, September 11, October 7 — they allowed all of this stuff to happen. Is this crazy?' Kattan said on camera in her since-removed TikTok post, which included other unfounded claims about Israel. 'Like, I had a feeling — I was like, 'Are they behind every world war?' Yes.' A representative for TikTok confirmed Kattan's video was removed for violating community guidelines. 'In a global community, it is natural for people to have different opinions, but we seek to operate on a shared set of facts and reality,' TikTok's community guidelines state. 'We do not allow misinformation that may cause significant harm to individuals or society, regardless of intent.' Kattan's agency did not respond to a request for comment. A manager listed on public databases as a representative for Kattan was contacted and said in an email that they no longer represent her. Calls for Sephora to ban Huda Beauty products Kattan's video has spurred calls across social media and among Jewish groups for retailers like Sephora to cut ties with her popular beauty brand, Huda Beauty, which was valued at $US1.2 billion ($A1.8 billion) in 2017 and brings in roughly $US200 million ($A308 million) in annual sales, according to Forbes. A representative for Sephora has not responded to a request for comment. This is not the first time the beauty influencer has faced calls for boycotts due to her public commentary after October 7. Kattan, whose company has over 57 million followers on Instagram, has been an outspoken critic of Israel and a staunch supporter of Palestinians in Gaza. Within a week of Hamas attacking Israel on October 7, 2023, an Israeli Instagram user threatened to boycott her products, to which Kattan replied: 'I don't want blood money.' In response to that comment, a petition was launched and received over 30,000 signatures, calling on Sephora to remove Huda Beauty products from its stores. Kattan's most recent TikTok video drew swift backlash from Jewish groups. 'Huda Kattan built a brand around beauty — but these antisemitic conspiracy theories are nothing short of ugly hate,' CEO of the Anti-Defamation League Jonathan Greenblatt said. 'Spreading vile myths about Jews to millions of followers isn't just reckless — it's dangerous.' The American Jewish Committee posted Kattan's since-removed TikTok video on social media, writing, 'Huda Kattan, founder of Huda Beauty, is using her massive platform to spread vile antisemitic conspiracy theories — accusing Jews of harvesting the organs of Palestinians, causing 9/11, and running global paedophile rings. This isn't 'criticism of Israel'. It's centuries-old hate, repackaged and broadcast to millions.' 'Retailers have a choice,' managing director of the Jewish nonprofit JLens Ari Hoffnung said. 'They can continue to platform a brand whose founder promotes hate-fuelled conspiracy theories, or they can take a stand against antisemitism.' Forbes included Kattan on their 2023 list of America's Richest Self-Made Women and on their list of Most Powerful Women in Business in 2024.

Labor Minister confirms Anthony Albanese attempting to make contact with Benjamin Netanyahu after massive pro-Palestine march
Shadow Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Matt Thistlewaite has said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is chasing a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The Prime Minister is considering a potential shift in foreign policy, following in the footsteps of the UK, France, and Canada, with September's UN General Assembly a possible timeframe for Australia to formally recognise a Palestinian state. Mr Thistlewaite told Sky News the PM was seeking to urgently make contact with Mr Netanyahu to convey the Australian government's position on the ongoing conflict in Gaza. 'A phone call is being pursued,' Mr Thistlewaite told Sky News on Monday. 'Anthony Albanese is willing to speak with Benjamin Netanyahu to make sure the views of the Australian government and the Australian people are clear to the Israeli government. Despite Mr Netanyahu publicly hitting out at the Australian government's for its handling of the antisemitism crisis sweeping the nation Mr Thistlewaite defended the government's position and said it was considering implementing a wide host of recommendations made by antisemitism special envoy Jillian Segal. 'We have certainly acted to combat antisemitism here in Australia and have taken a number of measures including commissioning Jillian Segal's report, and we are working through those recommendations," Mr Thistlethwaite said. The Prime Minister confirmed he was chasing a phone call with Mr Netanyahu on Monday. Mr Albanese told reporters his Israeli counterpart had acted inconsistent with a "two state solution" reiterating his government had been "critical of some of the actions of Israel in particular". "My message would be the same privately as it has been in the past as the public message and privately I said to Prime Minister Netanyahu before as I have said publicly for a long period of time that I am a supporter of a two state solution and there cannot be peace and security in the Middle East without there being an advance on the two state solution," Mr Albanese said. On Monday the federal government pledged an extra $20 million in aid to Gaza, and urged the Israeli government to allow 'unimpeded' access for the humanitarian materials to enter the war torn strip. The additional funding is aimed at supporting organisations that have 'the scale and capacity to respond quickly to deliver food, medical supplies for field hospitals and other lifesaving support to women and children in Gaza". 'This $20 million is going to organisations to provide food relief, medical supplies and field hospitals, shared evenly across the Red Cross, UNICEF, the UN world food program and Jordanian Hashmemite charity,' Mr Thistlethwaite said. He said that the United Nations embattled Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees was not among the organisations receiving aid from the government. Mr Thistlethwaite also condemned images of people displaying photos of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei at the pro-Palestine protests over the weekend and labelled it 'provocative.' The Assistant Minister said the release of a video by Hamas of an Israeli hostage digging his own grave in Gaza's vast underground tunnel network was 'sickening' and reiterated that the terrorist group could not be involved in the future governance of a Palestinian state. 'It's sickening and it's shocking, and I think that's the reason why we haven't declared a Palestinian statehood because we believe Hamas cannot be involved in the management of a Palestinian state, this is a terrorist organisation and that showed true in that sickening video that was posted on the weekend," he said. 'That's why we have said Hamas cannot be involved; we want to see two states existing side by side in peace but if you are going to get a lasting peace you can't have an organisation like that involved.'
