Brewers activate outfielder Daz Cameron from the paternity list

CHICAGO (AP) — The Milwaukee Brewers activated outfielder Daz Cameron from the paternity list on Tuesday.
Cameron takes the roster spot of outfielder Drew Avans, who was optioned to Triple-A Nashville. The 28-year-old Cameron is batting .200 with a homer and three RBIs in 19 games in his first year with the Brewers.

Garrett Mitchell's rehab assignment was moved from the Arizona Complex League to Nashville. The outfielder is coming back from a left oblique injury.
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said there is no target date or number of at-bats for Mitchell.
'We got to kind of track and see where he's at, keep him healthy," Murphy said before the team's series opener against the Chicago Cubs.
Mitchell, a first-round pick in the 2020 amateur draft out of UCLA, hasn't appeared in a major league game since April 25. He batted .255 with eight homers, 21 RBIs and 11 steals last season, helping Milwaukee win the NL Central.
The Brewers are hoping the 26-year-old Mitchell will be able to rejoin the team before the All-Star break.

Richard Sherman charged with DUI from February 2024 arrest
Former NFL All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman was formally charged with DUI in connection to his February 2024 arrest, according to an ESPN report. Sherman was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the King County Correctional Facility in Seattle in the early morning of Feb. 24, 2024, according to jail records previously obtained by USA TODAY Sports. Advertisement Citing the King County Prosecuting Attorney's Office, ESPN reported officials had been awaiting blood-test results from the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab taken the night of the arrest. It was received June 16, which showed Sherman had a blood alcohol level around 0.11, higher than the state's legal limit of 0.08. Officers reportedly noticed an "odor of intoxicants" from Sherman's breath. He allegedly refused a breath test at the scene and was taken to a hospital for a blood draw before he was booked. Advertisement The DUI charge is a gross misdemeanor charge, ESPN said, and it includes an enhancement for refusing a breath test. Sherman will be arraigned June 30. Sherman was previously had been arrested for driving under the influence following an incident in July 2021 in Redmond, Washington. Police said Sherman crashed his SUV in a construction zone and tried to break into his in-laws' home. He pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges of first-degree negligent driving and second-degree criminal trespass related to the incident in a plea bargain in March 2022. A five-time Pro Bowler, Sherman played 11 seasons in the NFL. Seven of those seasons were spent with the Seattle Seahawks, as he was part of the famed "Legion of Boom" unit that anchored one of the top defenses in the league. He was a major contributor on the 2013 team that won Super Bowl 48. He currently serves as an analyst for Prime Video's "Thursday Night Football." One team that has been thrown around is the Houston Rockets. Of all the teams rumored to be in the mix, the Rockets can likely offer the Suns one of the better, if not the best, packages in exchange for the 15-time All-Star. "The Rockets have offered Jalen Green and Jabari Smith for Kevin Durant but the Suns don't want Jalen Green," said Gambadoro. It could be argued that, of any player throughout the NBA Playoffs, Jalen Green's stock took a hit more than anybody. After averaging 21 points per game in the regular season, he averaged 13.28 per game in the seven-game series against the Golden State Warriors. That number is misleading. Green exploded for 38 points in Game 2, but was held under 15 points in the other six games and scored in the single digits four times. His style of play alongside Devin Booker and Bradley Beal would be questionable at best. It remains to be seen if the Suns have their eyes on a different player or are eying more draft compensation.
