The Phoenix Suns are currently undergoing drastic changes at almost every level of their organization. Right after the conclusion of the regular season, the Suns fired head coach Mike Budenholzer after a disappointing 36-46 season. Shortly after, they made a rather shocking decision to move James Jones into a senior advisory role and Brian Gregory as the new general manager.

There were rumors at this past trade deadline that the Suns were actively shopping Durant and that they were close to a deal with the Golden State Warriors, but Durant wasn't intrigued by the reunion and asked the Suns they reconsider. The Suns opted to make one final push for a spot in the NBA Play-In Tournament, but Durant suffered a left ankle sprain and those hopes were dashed.

There has been wide speculation as to which team(s) are possible suitors for Durant. One team that has been thrown around is the Houston Rockets. Of all the teams rumored to be in the mix, the Rockets can likely offer the Suns one of the better, if not the best, packages in exchange for the 15-time All-Star.

According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix, the Rockets have made a significant offer for Durant, but the Suns rejected a key piece.
"The Rockets have offered Jalen Green and Jabari Smith for Kevin Durant but the Suns don't want Jalen Green," said Gambadoro.
It could be argued that, of any player throughout the NBA Playoffs, Jalen Green's stock took a hit more than anybody. After averaging 21 points per game in the regular season, he averaged 13.28 per game in the seven-game series against the Golden State Warriors.
That number is misleading. Green exploded for 38 points in Game 2, but was held under 15 points in the other six games and scored in the single digits four times. His style of play alongside Devin Booker and Bradley Beal would be questionable at best. It remains to be seen if the Suns have their eyes on a different player or are eying more draft compensation.

And yes, this fits Davante Adams, too, a mid-season acquisition to came to New York as a superstar and pal of Rodgers ... and no, it did not work out. At all. Individually, Davante's numbers were OK for Jets. In 11 games after being traded for from the Raiders in exchange for a third-round pick, he had 67 catches for 854 yards and seven touchdowns. Adams is now with the Los Angeles Rams and saying all the things that high-profile guys say when they land in a new setting. "I feel like this is what I needed just based off the vibe and the aura of the building," Adams said. "And everybody's in a good mood. It's not like a dark cloud over the building. Former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh's premature firing may have destined the 2024 campaign to disaster, but the move wasn't made without cause. Between a lack of discipline, disasters under center, and the media circus that overshadowed much of his regime, plenty went wrong in East Rutherford. Advertisement But Saleh is still one of the top defensive minds in the sport, and his track record of developing players on his side of the ball has helped retain optimism well after his dismissal. Among the success stories are linebackers Quincy Williams and Jamien Sherwood. The former broke out under Saleh's watch, ascending to All-Pro status next to veteran C.J. Mosley. The latter picked up the slack when Mosley went down with an injury in 2024. Sherwood quickly became one of the best – and most important – players on New York's defense. Keeping him on the right developmental track is integral to next year's unit meeting expectations. An obstacle on that path is the coaching turnover after Saleh (and eventually Jeff Ulbrich) was fired. Linebackers coach Mike Rutenberg was a victim of those moves. Advertisement New head coach Aaron Glenn replaced him with Aaron Curry. The early returns seem to be favorable, with Sherwood praising the Jets' new position coach on June 12. 'In our linebacker meetings room, he [Curry] has been super interactive with us, he listens to us. He helps us relate our new defense to our last defense so it's easier for us,' Sherwood said. Curry is a well-respected position coach who has worked under former Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll and, more recently, Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin. That's an excellent pairing to learn from, and that pedigree isn't lost on Glenn, who's attempting to build a culture in East Rutherford. Sherwood, meanwhile, took his breakout campaign to free agency, where New York retained his services for three years and $45 million. By keeping him in the building, the Jets are striving both for continuity and growing trust between regime and roster. Sherwood played well and he was rewarded, handsomely.
