Missing TikToker's body found dismembered in bags as tattoo offers key clue
Fabiola Alejandra Caicedo Piña, 19, was identified by her tattoos after her body parts were discovered at a water treatment plant in Lima, Peru, with a murder investigation underway
A teenager's body had to be identified by her tattoos after her dismembered body was found in bags at a water treatment plant. Staff made the gruesome discovery of the body parts and police have now said they belong to Fabiola Alejandra Caicedo Piña.
Her distinctive tattoos, including the phrase 'Love me for who I am' in English on her arm, helped the keen TikToker be identified and detectives believe she may have been strangled before being dismembered. Fabiola, aged 19, posted videos of herself dancing and posing on TikTok, and had just shy of 5,000 followers. Her final video on the platform - where she went by the nickname ' China Baby' - was posted on June 5.
Two days later, her cousin reported her missing. Fabiola's remains were found in the El Agustino district of Lima, Peru, on June 9. One motive under consideration by police is revenge by the family or close circle of her ex-boyfriend, who died in 2022 in unclear circumstances.
Fabiola - originally from Barquisimeto, Venezuela - left her country in 2022, when she was 16. She was accompanied by her then-boyfriend Mayner Yoffrey Giménez Castrillo, who was 21 years older than her.
Their journey - according to Fabiola's family - was voluntary but illegal. Once in Lima, they lived together in a rental flat in the Huaycán district, where - months later - Mayner was found dead. His death was ruled as suicide, but his family never believed this version.
They reportedly accuse Fabiola and an alleged Venezuelan lover of being behind his death. Despite this, she was never formally investigated and continued her life in Lima working at nightclubs and bars.
Some reports say the area where she worked is controlled by Venezuelan gangs, who had threatened to make her 'pay' for Mayner's death. It is alleged that she had been recruited by a faction of the criminal organisation Antitren, which provided her with protection.
Police believe that on the night before her death, she was lured away from a party under false pretences. Some reports say she was tortured - with cigarette burns on her legs and feet - before being killed.
Her remains were allegedly dumped into the Rímac River and ended up at the water treatment plant. Detectives are still reviewing CCTV footage and gathering statements from those who knew Fabiola. There have been no arrests yet, but local media say key breakthroughs are expected in the coming days.

Atlanta sports reporter says she was pepper-sprayed and attacked by an Uber driver
Atlanta sports reporter Tabitha Turner alleges she was pepper-sprayed in the face and physically attacked by an Uber driver over the weekend following a dispute over the car temperature. The Uber driver, identified by police as Mericole Smith, is facing charges of misdemeanor battery and simple battery after Hapeville police said a video of the Saturday incident showed that she was the aggressor and physically attacked Turner. Police said an arrest warrant would be issued for Smith. Turner's attorney, Miguel Dominguez, said in a Wednesday press conference that the altercation occurred as Turner was being driven to her home from the Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport. Smith, who accused Turner of escalating the situation in a viral TikTok video, did not return a request for comment on Thursday. According to Dominguez, Turner had requested an Uber Comfort, which allows passengers to customize the ride. Uber's website says that passengers who use this service can let the driver know if they want to talk during the ride and set a temperature preference. Because of the scorching hot temperatures in Atlanta, Turner wanted "a cool Uber," Dominguez said. But when Smith arrived, she had the windows rolled down and the air conditioner wasn't turned on, he said. Dominguez said that when Turner asked for the windows to be rolled up, Smith escalated the situation. 'The driver did not respond verbally, but she did put the air conditioner on, but she did not roll the windows up. And so as the ride went on, the vehicle obviously did not cool off,' he told reporters. 'My client was really hot, she was sweaty, she addressed the driver again, asking that the windows be rolled up. The response she got from the driver was not kind and was not friendly. The driver was clearly irritated by, I guess, the demands of a passenger.' Dominguez said the driver suddenly pulled over in the emergency lane on the expressway and ordered Turner out of the vehicle. He said Turner did not get out and told the driver to either take her back to the airport, where it was safe, or call the police and refund her the money for the fare. According to the attorney, Turner was 'completely calm.' He alleged that Smith exited the car, removed Turner's bags and then attempted to 'physically remove my client from the vehicle by grabbing the bookbag that she was carrying and getting into a struggle.' In her TikTok video, Smith said she turned the air conditioner up after Turner commented on how hot the car was. However, she explained that she does not roll up the windows because she sometimes has passengers who are sick. Smith said the windows were only slightly cracked. According to Smith, Turner started yelling at her, so she told Turner that she would take her back to the airport and end the trip. 'That was not good enough for her,' Smith said in her video. 'She is going off. She is irate in the back seat, tripping, so I pull over. I'm like, actually, yeah, I'm going to need you to get out right here. So I pull over in Hapeville, we're off the highway.' In the video, Smith said she told Turner that Uber would refund her, but Turner refused to leave. Because the situation was escalating, Smith flagged down a passerby and asked that they call 911. Smith said she then opened the car door and again asked Turner to get out. She alleged that Turner went 'in her bag to get a weapon.' According to Smith, she got back in her car and pepper-sprayed Turner 'in self-defense.' But Dominguez said Smith pepper-sprayed his client in an unprovoked attack. In a 30-second video clip released by his office, Smith is seen telling Turner to get out of the car. She then leans into the backseat as she curses and screams at Turner, the video shows. The incident continued to escalate as both women exited the vehicle. According to Dominguez, Smith physically assaulted Turner and pulled out some of her hair. Smith alleged in her video that Turner ran toward her and tried "to gouge" her eye out. Smith said in her video, which has more than two million views, that she had to get stitches on her eye.

But instead of complying with the authorities, the man, seen wearing an orange t-shirt, lay down and blocked the aisle in protest. The mid-air drama was said to have delayed the flight by around an hour before police arrived to drag him off the Boeing 737 aircraft. Furious passengers screamed at him to "get out of the way" as airport police hauled his bulky body off the jet. One female passenger was heard branding the man "selfish". Another passenger added: "At first, I thought we couldn't take off because the man had fallen ill. "It turned out he just thought the economy seat was too crowded and insisted on moving to the emergency exit. "The flight attendants had to call the police because he refused to cooperate." Officers were seen carrying the man by his arms and legs in a bid to remove him from the aircraft. The flight is said to have taken off around an hour later from the Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). The outburst erupted on a flight from Russia to Egypt — with the economy passenger insisting she deserved an upgrade due to an alleged 'pain in my butt and t**s'. Shocking footage from the Aeroflot flight SU734 shows the woman standing in the aisle and yelling at cabin crew in broken English. She said: 'I want business class… I'm in pain in my butt, I'm in pain in my t*ts!' She even grabs her own breasts while arguing her case, pleading: 'But I need a business class because I was working.' When her rant fails to sway staff, the wild-eyed woman sinks to the floor screaming, 'No, no, get out!' as a female voice calmly replies: 'You asked for it.' Crew were helped by strong male passengers to overpower the woman after she allegedly threatened to open the emergency exit and began removing her top in desperation, according to Telegram channel Aviatorshchina. 'The woman tried to push forward, ran around the cabin, approached the emergency exit, and threatened to 'open' it,' the report said. 'It even got to 18+ content. To get to the coveted seats, the passenger began taking off her T-shirt, hoping at least that would work.' Although the video didn't show her fully undressing, it captured her bizarre gestures and meltdown as stunned passengers watched on during the six-hour flight. Meanwhile, a woman allegedly threatened to crash a plane in India during a row with cabin staff just days after the deadly Air India disaster. Footage showed the passenger yelling at passengers and crew on board the flight. The row is reported to have taken place on an Air India Express flight from Bengaluru to Surat. A woman, identified as Dr Vyas Hiral Mohanbhai, 36, was taken off the flight and detained by police following the incident, the Indian Express reported. 7 Cabin crew confronted the screaming woman as she refused to return to her seat on the packed flight Credit: Aviatoshchina/e2w
