Accenture LearnVantage, IIT Madras team up to skill talent for SDV domain

Accenture and the Centre of Excellence in Advanced Automotive Research (CAAR), a research society established by the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), are collaborating to offer specialised skilling programmes through Accenture's LearnVantage Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) Academy.
The initiative targets automotive Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Global Capability Centres (GCCs) looking to develop talent to build software-defined vehicles. It aims to meet the growing demand for skilled professionals in the SDV domain, bridging the gap between traditional automotive roles and the digital skills needed to develop automated driving technology, advanced driver assistance systems, electrical/electronic architecture, connectivity, and infotainment systems.
The curriculum, designed for automotive technology practitioners at OEMs and GCCs, includes domain-specific modules, interactive learning environments, and expert coaching delivered through a mix of self-paced and IIT Madras instructor-led sessions. The modules cover advanced Internet of Things, embedded systems and software, vehicle safety, communication protocols, cybersecurity, edge computing, cloud virtualisation, and industry standards such as AUTomotive Open System ARchitecture (AUTOSAR) and Automotive SPICE (Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination).
According to an Accenture Research estimate, the software-defined digital services market is projected to reach $3.5 trillion and account for 40 per cent of global automotive industry revenues by 2040. To bridge the skills gap, Accenture LearnVantage launched an SDV Academy that offers a specialised training curriculum for the industry.

CAAR aims to bridge the gap between academic research and commercial solutions in the automotive industry, providing advanced technology, skilled talent, and facilities. Krishnan Balasubramanian, Professor in charge of the Centre for Advanced Automotive Research (CAAR), IIT Madras, said, 'The academia-industry partnership enabled by the Centre of Excellence CAAR is a unique model that creates a win-win for all parties and enables upskilling of the next-generation workforce in new areas such as SDVs. We are delighted to be partnering with Accenture's LearnVantage.'

Accenture and IIT Madras have an existing collaboration through their joint Centre of Excellence (CoE), which undertakes research projects and develops intellectual properties in autonomous robotics systems (ARS), Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), digital twin systems (DTS), and advanced automotive technologies. In addition, TalentSprint, a leader in deep tech education and now part of Accenture LearnVantage, offers a postgraduate-level advanced certification programme in applied data science and machine learning in partnership with IIT Madras.

Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) has indigenously developed and licensed to industry India's first silicon photonics-based high-speed quantum random number generator (QRNG) in a deal worth ₹1 crore. The Technology Transfer Office (TTO), IIT Madras, signed the ₹1 crore licensing agreement on Monday with Indrarka Quantum Technologies Pvt Ltd for the commercial deployment of the silicon photonic QRNG. Developed at the Centre for Programmable Photonic Integrated Circuits and Systems (CPPICS), IIT Madras, the milestone underscores the technology's strategic value and potential to advance India's quantum innovation ecosystem. Earlier, a prototype QRNG module was delivered to DYSL-QT, Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Subsequently, an advanced version of the QRNG module was developed and successfully deployed at the Society for Electronic Transactions and Security (SETS), Chennai, for quantum security applications. The licensing agreement marks a significant step in translating cutting-edge academic research into market-ready products, reinforcing India's leadership in the global quantum technology landscape. S Krishnan, Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, congratulated the CoE-CPPICS team, saying: 'Indigenously developed, field-deployable silicon photonic-based quantum random number generator module is a pride for India.' Dinanath Soni, Director, Indrarka Quantum Technologies Pvt Ltd, said: 'We are honoured to partner with IIT Madras in bringing India's first silicon photonics-based QRNG to market. The licencing agreement was formalised on August 18, 2025, through the institute's Technology Transfer INNOVATION FOR SECURE TECHNOLOGIES Highlighting the importance of the breakthrough, Professor V Kamakoti, Director, IIT Madras, said, 'Silicon photonics is an emerging area with strong interface with Quantum Technologies. Random number generation is a critical building block for secure computing and communication. Accenture to buy Australian cybersecurity firm CyberCX for reported $650 mln

Accenture said on Thursday it will buy Australian cybersecurity firm CyberCX in its largest-ever deal in the sector, with the Australian Financial Review valuing the transaction at more than A$1 billion ($650 million). A wave of devastating cyberattacks has battered Australia, including a 2022 breach at telecom major Optus that exposed the personal data of up to 10 million users, and a hack on health insurer Medibank affecting nearly 10 million customers. In July, Qantas Airways disclosed that criminals had infiltrated one of its call centres, accessing personal information of six million customers. Private equity firm BGH Capital , which is selling CyberCX, has not disclosed any financial terms. Accenture declined to provide additional details, while BGH Capital didn't respond to Reuters' requests for comment on the reported valuation. The deal underscores the surging demand for advanced digital security services as businesses worldwide face increasingly sophisticated cyber threats that disrupt operations and compromise sensitive data. Melbourne-based CyberCX was formed in 2019 through the merger of 12 smaller cybersecurity firms backed by BGH Capital. The company now employs about 1,400 people and runs security operations centres across Australia and New Zealand, with offices in London and New York. CyberCX is led by John Paitaridis, formerly managing director of Optus Business, and Chief Strategy Officer Alastair MacGibbon, Australia's former national cybersecurity coordinator. The leadership's ties to Optus are notable, given the telecommunications company's 2022 data breach, which exposed names, birth dates, addresses, phone numbers, email contacts and passport and driver's license numbers. Since 2015, Accenture has completed 20 security acquisitions, including recent purchases of Brazilian cyber defense firm Morphus, MNEMO Mexico and Spain-based Innotec Security. On the domestic front, the firm entered into a $700 million collaborative agreement with Telstra in February, aiming to implement AI capabilities across the telecommunications company.
