The Montreal native was ahead 3-2 in the opening set, but the turning point came in the seventh game when Tsitsipas won five straight points from 40/0 to break Auger-Aliassime's serve and run away with the first set.
In the second set, Auger-Aliassime saved two break points in the third game, but was unable to convert the three he created. After tying it at 3-3, he surrendered the final three games to Tsitsipas.

"Tonight wasn't meant to be for me but that's congrats to Stefanos and his team, it's well deserved," Auger-Aliassime said post-match. "Big tournament, great level today, you know we've known each other for a long time and tonight you played at a very high level.
"I'll push to get better and hopefully we'll have more chances to play more finals in the future."
The 24-year-old Auger-Aliassime, the world No. 21, had four aces to two double faults and won 71 per cent of his first-serve points. He failed to break on all seven of his chances.
Tsitsipas, the world No. 11, had four aces and four doubles along with winning 83 per cent of his first-serve points. The 26-year-old converted on 3-of-6 break point opportunities.
Auger-Aliassime and Tsitsipas had met nine times before Saturday's final, with Tsitsipas leading 6-3.
Tsitsipas triumphed in their most recent meeting, the second round of the 2023 Paris Masters.
Prior to that, Auger-Aliassime claimed his first ATP Tour singles title by defeating Tsitsipas in straight sets in the 2022 Rotterdam Open final

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Blake Snell limited his former team to five hits in six innings, and the Los Angeles Dodgers regained the NL West lead with a 6-0 victory over the San Diego Padres on Saturday night. Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty takes a hit, then delivers one in 22-19 loss to the 49ers
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Raiders rookie Ashton Jeanty proved he could deliver hits and absorb them at the NFL level, rushing for a bruising 33 yards and a touchdown on seven carries in Las Vegas' 22-19 preseason loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday. Jake Moody made a 59-yard field goal as time expired for the 49ers (1-1). He also converted a 44-yarder with 37 seconds remaining to tie the game, and then Jaylen Mahoney intercepted Raiders quarterback Cam Miller to set up the winner. Moody made 5 of 6 field goals while Daniel Carlson made all four of his tries for the Raiders (0-1-1). Brock Purdy played the first series for the 49ers, which ended in a field goal. He was 5 of 7 for 66 yards. Backup Mac Jones completed 13 of 16 passes for 135 yards with an interception, and former Raider Carter Bradley led the tying and winning drives and finished 8 of 13 for 96 yards. Star running back Christian McCaffrey did not play for the 49ers. Geno Smith completed 6 of 8 passes for 55 yards as the Raiders' first-team offense played the first two series. The Raiders scored 10 points on those drives. Aidan O'Connell guided the team into the fourth quarter, finishing 15 of 23 for 138 yards with an interception. Jeanty was known for his tackle-breaking ability at Boise State, where he was the Heisman Trophy runner-up last season, and he showed that skill against the 49ers. He took a shot to his right shoulder from 49ers linebacker Tatum Bethune in the first quarter and went into the medical tent. Jeanty emerged from the tent and on the next series ran over San Francisco cornerback Deommodore Lenoir on his way to 13-yard gain. Jeanty topped off the drive by powering his way into the end zone from the 1-yard line. Jeanty, the sixth pick in the NFL draft, bounced back from an underwhelming performance in his first preseason game. He had minus-1 yard on three carries in a 23-23 tie at Seattle on Aug. 7. More Niners injures San Francisco lost three offensive players to injuries in the first half, including starting right guard Dominick Puni, who injured his knee while blocking on a field goal. Running back Corey Kiner was carted off after injuring an ankle and running back Patrick Taylor Jr. hurt a shoulder. The 49ers have already experienced plenty of injuries — particularly at wide receiver — in the run-up to the season. They entered the game without roughly 20 players. GOAT in the building Tom Brady attended the game, making his latest appearance as a Raiders minority owner. He also attended a practice and a mock game two weeks ago. Create Account As a prominent football analyst getting better with each set of downs, it seems, the Canadian isn't shy about the cheap shots coming his way for his work on TSN's CFL coverage. Even when they come with ridiculous consequences from those attempting to silence him. In fact, Willson is going on the offensive for those pushing back at his criticisms of the CFL, the type of commentary never before heard so pointedly and vocally on the network. 'I believe that the board of governors have rats within (the CFL), both on air and behind the scenes,' Willson said in a post on X on Saturday that quickly sizzled on the social media site among the league's observers. 'They want me gone. I am like a roach. Tough to kill.' While Willson didn't elaborate on those who would like to see him muted, the pushback has been strong, even if much of it is from league apologists. It didn't take long for what appeared to be the enemy within to emerge, as by mid-Saturday afternoon Willson's post from X had been removed. The popular broadcaster posted a gif of a person getting his wrist slapped with a caption 'oops.' In a reply to that post, Willson acknowledged that he had been asked to delete his criticisms. It's all just silliness, really, and if, in fact, TSN made Willson remove his opinion, it's a terrible (if unsurprising) bit of censorship of a dude who has brought considerable attention — good and bad — to both the CFL and his network's coverage this season. The fact is that the LaSalle, Ont. native has been a fresh voice on the CFL shows, building on the terrific insight he brings to TSN's NFL coverage. The criticism has been predictable in that many of Willson's more vocal opposition centres on a belief that he has an NFL bias. Of course, those accusations just make Willson laugh. As they should as well to anyone who has listened to his full body of work on CFL coverage this season. What initially prompted Willson's latest social media tirade was news on Friday that both the Toronto Argos will be playing a significant portion of their 'home' schedule on the road in 2026 to make room for the World Cup that will see games played at BMO Field. 'The MLSE stuff with the schedule yesterday really put things into perspective for me,' Willson wrote. 'That bothers me to no end. Why would you not play the games in Ontario? (I would vote London.) Instead, it's screw the fans, screw the brand, make the quick buck, let's go to Regina, Winnipeg and your arch-rivals stadium. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. 'As I reflected on that, I need to realize that the CFL doesn't give one single damn about growing the game. It's evident in almost everything they do.' Willson echoed those comments in a Friday appearance on TSN Radio's Overdrive program. 'Under no circumstance am I surprised the World Cup is bumping anything,' Willson said. 'There are so many options that would be really cool.' Given the long and cozy rights partnership that the CFL has had with TSN, it's not a stretch to call Willson's comments explosive. And not that he's worried. Quite the opposite, in fact. In the past, Willson has been critical of some of the play in the league and attendance issues, particularly in Toronto and Edmonton. 'You now have a league that has minimal time in the facilities, a coaches salary cap, and extreme cheap labour,' Willson wrote on the now-removed post. 'It's the front office's dream. When they can achieve this, they don't really need in-person fans. They just need the TV deal. 'Many markets are starting to realize this, Edmonton, Toronto, I've been told Calgary as well (haven't been there.) The people are simply done supporting such grotesque behaviour towards them.' How this plays out will be fascinating given the abhorrence of rights-holders to have their personalities speak out about the property in such an unvarnished way.
