'North Wales homes worst seaside town in UK but I don't think it's all bad'

A Liverpudlian man ventured to what has been branded the "worst seaside town in the UK" and was surprised to find it nestled in Wales. After hearing about its unflattering reputation as one of the country's least appealing seaside destinations, Zac Jones decided to take a trip to see for himself.
Zac documented his journey on TikTok, curious to determine whether the negative label was justified, and he soon uncovered some truths. The Telegraph had previously described the town as "one of the worst" for beachgoers, prompting Zac to investigate personally.
Upon arrival, Zac's initial impressions were more positive than expected, as he surveyed the local amenities. His exploration of Rhyl 's offerings revealed a quiet atmosphere, but he didn't think it was all bad.
Zac said: "I mean, there's not an awful lot of people here. Let's see some of the prices in The Piazza. The big brunch will be £6.95. Cod, chips, peas, bread and butter - £8.80, and we have a Wetherspoon.
"Honestly, I think it's quite nice here to be honest, maybe it's just because the sun's out. I mean at least there's a nice building."
Inquiring with a local about Rhyl's highlights, the response was simple, he thought the weather was the best part. It seems that, despite its reputation, Rhyl's climate is something to be appreciated.
However, Zac's initial impressions were soon marred by an unpleasant incident, as he remarked: "I take it back - everything nice I said about this place."
His stroll through the streets of Rhyl was spoiled when he stepped in dog muck, which understandably dampened his spirits.
Zac went on to say: "Well I think Rhyl, for me, gets an 'it's ok'. The best thing about Rhyl, in my opinion, is the beach and the coast. It's beautiful."
Since Zac shared his video, which has now been viewed over 1,000 times, locals and visitors alike have been quick to weigh in with their views on Rhyl. Opinions varied widely among commenters.
One person jested: "Best thing about Rhyl is the way out." Echoing a sense of nostalgia, another person commented: "Such a shame. Used to be so good."
Reflecting on childhood memories, a third individual responded: "Spent many holidays there as a child, as it was all we could afford. It's not always about the location - it's about making memories as best you can."
Others offered a different perspective, with one saying: "That's harsh. Although the town centre isn't up to much, there is plenty going on further down the prom at Kite Surf Cafe and the other end - The Bike Hub and Harbour Hwb.
"Marine Lake is brilliant for crabbing and walks, runs and sunsets. The people of Rhyl are some of the kindest most down to earth people."

Tourist reveals bleak reality of city-break hotspot during 'record-breaking' summer

It is estimated that around seven out of 10 visitors to the city are day-trippers - with water taxis filled to the brim and narrow alleys clogged with holidaymakers A tourist has shown a less glamorous side to one of Europe's most beloved cities - sparking fierce debate online. Last year, a staggering 20 million visitors flocked to Venice - significantly outnumbering the city's resident population and resulting in calls for a strict clampdown. ‌ It is estimated that around seven out of 10 visitors were day-trippers, which led to the hotspot implementing a controversial tourist tax that has been extended to this summer. Those heading over to the Italian city for the day from April 18 to July 27 will have been hit with a €5 surcharge. ‌ Fail to make a reservation in advance and this fee doubles to €10 (around £8.34). But it seems even this drastic measure isn't enough to deter travellers from visiting. It comes after Spanish islands fear Brits won't return as tourists are dealt another blow. ‌ Taking to TikTok, American tourist Jenn posted a video showing just how insanely cramped and busy Venice gets during the summer months. Her video, which has garnered more than 106,000 views, shows water taxis filled to the brim with tourists, while narrow alleys are also clogged with bustling holidaymakers. It seems worlds away from the serene images of Venice plastered on travel agents' windows. However, to avoid the selfie-stick stampede, Jen headed over to Murano - a quieter island located away from the Central Square. ‌ You won't find St Mark's Basilica or Doge's Palace here, which is why it is often much quieter. However, Murano is world-famous for its glass-making, and is filled with quaint coffee shops, restaurants and similarly stunning architecture. Flocking to the comments section, swathes of viewers slammed Venice's insatiable popularity, with one user branding it an 'overrated city'. Another fumed: "I was only in Venice with my mother for three hours because it was just too crowded. It was absolutely no fun being there. I can recommend Chioggia for that. It's a bit busier these days, but still pleasant." ‌ A third added: "Venice is like that all year long. Wait until you see how it is for carnival, this is nothing compared," while a fourth argued: "Venice is always like this." ‌ However, others quickly jumped to the city's defence - arguing that while it can get busy, it's well worth putting up with the crowds. "Venice is insanity but there's a reason for it," one person commented. "It's definitely one of the most gorgeous cities on the planet. It's very special." Another agreed, writing: "Venice is beautiful. I love it so much," while a third penned: "We loved it here. We were there last month."

Woman slammed for flying after staying at bed bug infested hotel... as many worry she spread them on plane

An American woman has been fiercely slammed for allegedly flying home after staying at a bed bug infested hotel on vacation, with many worried she spread them to others on the plane. Kassidy King recently went viral on TikTok after she shared a series of videos that showed bugs crawling all over her hotel room during her trip to Paris, France. She also uploaded footage that showed her entire body covered in tiny bites, leaving people all across the web horrified. But what left social media users even more unsettled was that Kassidy seemingly came back to the US without properly cleaning her clothes or belongings. She also allegedly didn't warn the airline or her fellow passengers on her flight back, potentially exposing hoards of other people to bed bugs. One disgruntled viewer reposted one of her videos to Reddit under the forum called TikTokCringe and shared their outrage, and it sparked a heated conversation about how she should have handled the situation. 'This video and her follow-up videos made my skin crawl,' they captioned one of Kassidy's clips, which showed tiny black insects scurrying on the bed frame. 'This TikTokker went to Paris and filmed bed bugs crawling around in her room. She posted a follow-up video when she returned back to the US with her body covered (literally covered) in bites. She had bites all over her face, too. 'In her most recent video, she admits to bringing everything back with her and only treating her luggage and belongings after she returned to the US. 'People in the comments asked if she had informed the airline and she said she didn't but said she might.' The video in which Kassidy discussed her flight back to the US and how she treated her belongings has since been taken down, so the Daily Mail was not able to verify what she said in it. The Daily Mail has reached out to Kassidy for comment. The Reddit post got over 1,000 comments, and many other users were quick to slam Kassidy. 'She should be on a no-fly list. Literally a biological public health hazard,' scathed one person. 'Ugh she is one of the worst type of people. They don't care about anyone but themselves and will do something like this so selfishly again,' added another. 'Poor people who sat on that plane after her or in airport seats. THIS is how bed bugs spread so bad,' wrote someone else. 'I really hope he was charged or faced some consequence? To do this so openly and get away with it is concerning,' a fourth comment read. A fifth said, 'Do this kind of people lack common sense? Incredibly irresponsible behavior, not to mention absolutely insane to just bring your luggage home without precautions. 'She'll be dealing with bed bugs for a while. It is because of idiots like this that they spread like wildfire.' 'Really stupid move,' a different user commented. 'That's absolutely selfish and disgusting... she basically turned herself into a walking bed bug delivery service,' slammed someone else. 'Not telling the airline means she potentially infected every passenger and crew member on that flight.'
