Grange Hill's Zammo star shares terrifying cancer scare after common symptom

Daily Mirror6 days ago
Grange Hill's Zammo actor Lee MacDonald has revealed a terrifying cancer scare after spotting a "little rash". The actor, 57, appeared on Good Morning Britain and revealed he will have the small mark on his cheek burnt off due to it having pre-cancerous cells.
But last year, Lee informed his social media followers that he had been diagnosed with cancer after a similar spot was detected on his face and, within days, was set to receive treatment for the condition.
"It's a keratosis, which is a pre-cancerous spot, so I'm going to have it burnt out," he said, before revealing the small spot could turn into cancer if left untreated. He encouraged viewers to concentrate on skincare, including wearing sunscreen and "looking at blemishes" on the face.

Elderly couple travel three hours for attraction that doesn't exist

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video An elderly couple were duped by an AI-generated video, driving three hours in hopes of visiting a fake tourist spot. The couple, from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, saw a video advertising 'Kuak Skyride', a fake cable car ride with nearby restaurants. The video showed what appeared to be a female journalist interviewing attendees and boasting about the new attraction. But not all was as it seemed. The entire thing was created with AI, and the couple weren't made aware of that until they arrived at a hotel in Perak and asked staff about it. After hearing that no such place existed, the infuriated woman threatened to sue the journalist in the video, before being told she was also not real. A hotel staff member posted about the couple's experience on social media to warn other families not to fall for the hoax. The fake attraction was advertised on the TV channel 'TV Rakyat', which also doesn't exist, showing beautiful scenes in the forest. The elderly woman reportedly asked the hotel staff: 'Why do they do this to people?' They weren't the only ones to fall for the fake video. Another person claimed their parents paid around £2,000 to rent a van and drive to the attraction before realising it wasn't real. It's the latest trick using AI to scam unwitting people into going places and spending money when they shouldn't. Earlier this year, Martin Lewis issued a warning after some families lost money in a scheme which used his likeness to trick them out of £76,000. Des Healey, a kitchen fitter from Brighton, was tricked into handing over his life savings to a bogus bitcoin investment scheme that did not really exist. He first became aware of the scam in August 2023, after spotting a fake ad on Facebook which used an AI-generated video of Martin Lewis who appeared to be endorsing an investment scheme by Elon Musk. Sharing his story on Good Morning Britain, Des explained how he had been tricked by the fake video. 'If you listen to the voice and look at how the mouth moves, that normally gives it away.' 'But at the time, obviously, I wasn't studying that. I just got Martin Lewis saying that normally he doesn't cover these [investments] but this time, this is such a good thing.' More Trending He added: 'Now I feel how stupid I was, how blind I was. You know, I'm normally the type of person who would tell other people that doesn't sound right, but these people… Someone once described it as being under their spell, and I think that was probably the best term that he could have possibly said. I knew, in a way, something wasn't right, but I hoped that it was okay.' Responding to the story, Martin Lewis said Des was 'brave and admirable' for speaking out and telling his story as 'a warning flag' for others. 'I've spent my entire career trying to help consumers, and these criminals, thieves, organised crime people have perverted my reputation,' he told Des on his BBC Sounds podcast. He said scammers are 'psychologically adept at manipulating us, use huge online and intellectual resources in order to steal our money… falling for scams does not make you a mug – it makes you a victim, but it doesn't make you a mug'. 'Unlikely companion joined me on ultramarathon - now she sleeps beside me'

In June 2016, Dion's life changed forever when he was running a 155 mile race across the Gobi desert in China when a little stray dog ran 80 miles alongside him Nine years ago, ultramarathon runner Dion Leonard from Scotland was battling the scorching heat of the Gobi Desert in China, focused on completing a gruelling 155-mile race in 2016. But on day two, his life changed forever - thanks to an unlikely companion. A small stray dog began running alongside him, covering an incredible 80 miles over the course of the week-long race. ‌ That border terrier mix, later named Gobi, didn't just capture Dion's heart - their story went viral, inspiring millions around the world. As Dion, now 50, reflects on almost a decade with Gobi from his home in the US, he admits the adventure hasn't slowed down. ‌ 'When we met in 2016, I was focused on winning,' Dion tells The Mirror. 'She was chewing on my shoes and trying to impress me with her little tricks, but I didn't pay her much attention.' ‌ That all changed on day three. Dion was about to take the lead of the race, wading through a waist-deep river, when he heard frantic barking behind him. 'She knew if she followed, she'd drown. In that split second, I turned back, picked her up and carried her across. As I looked at her in my arms, I thought - maybe this dog and I are going to be friends for longer than I first thought.' By the end of the race, Dion had promised to bring Gobi home. That promise took him on another journey - tracking her down after she went missing in the Chinese city of Urumqi and navigating red tape to bring her to the UK. ‌ 'She'd been through so much. When we finally got her back, she was injured and looked terrible, but even then she was so loving. She has this ability to sense when people need affection. She's like an angel in a dog costume.' Their incredible bond became the bestselling memoir Finding Gobi, translated into 24 languages, and inspired millions of animal lovers around the world. ‌ Now 11, Gobi lives with Dion and his wife Lucja Leonard, 46, in the United States, where they've been based for six years. 'Gobi's settled into family life - she sleeps on the bed every night - but she still has that adventurous streak. She chases rabbits in the park and loves to run. Her ultramarathon days are over, but she still has so much energy and joy.' ‌ Although Gobi doesn't run long distances anymore, she loves cheering on Dion and Lucja at races. 'She usually runs the last hundred metres with us to the applause of the crowd. It's her moment and she loves it.' Dion believes meeting Gobi didn't just save her life - it healed something in him too. 'I had a turbulent childhood. When I carried Gobi across that river, I thought about how no one cared for her, and I saw myself in her. I decided to be the person I needed when I was younger - someone to care.' ‌ Together, Dion and Gobi have raised thousands for animal charities, inspired countless adoptions, and even met presidents and royalty. 'She doesn't know she's famous - she's just living her best life. 'She makes people smile every single day. That's her gift to the world.' After initially living in Scotland, Gobi and Dion moved to the States six years ago, with the border terrier mix visiting 34 states so far.

Oasis Heaton Park setlist, stage times and warnings ahead of tonight

Brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher will take to the stage in Manchester again on tonight for their second Heaton Park performance on the current Oasis Live '25 Tour Saturday night sees Oasis take to the stage of Manchester's Heaton Park for the second of five nights in their home city on their Oasis Live '25 Tour. Brothers Noel, 58, and Liam Gallagher, 52, kicked off their 41 date world tour on 4 July with a debut performance in Cardiff, Wales. But it is their homecoming shows that many fans have been waiting for – with the first night thrilling crowds when the brothers took to the stage on Friday night. After two dates in Cardiff, reports have suggested the band have found a new confidence while performing in front of a home crowd as they play their Manchester dates on July 11, 12, 16, 19 and 20. ‌ And following a barnstorming opening night on Friday, fans can now know what to expect when Liam and Noel take to the stage on Saturday for their second show. With dozens of classic hits, pyrotechnics, and plenty of swagger, the Gallagher brothers will entertain 80,000 people at the 600-acre park in the north of Manchester. ‌ Fans should plan for extreme heat as well as big hits on Saturday night. Here are some details of what to expect... Venue and support acts Oasis are playing to huge crowds at their Heaton Park venue in Manchester in July. Fans will be granted access to the venue from 3pm with the music beginning from 6pm sharp. ‌ Iconic Britpop band Cast are first to take to the stage to entertain the 80,000 strong crowd with an hour long set, with Richard Ashcroft taking over at 7pm. Liam and Noel will then take to the stage with their band at 9pm where they will blast through 23 of their hits. The gig will end at 10:30pm – but revellers will find plenty of places to grab drinks and celebrate nearby in the centre of Manchester and surrounding areas. ‌ Headline performance While fans in Cardiff were delighted by the reunion tour earlier this week, production of the show has stepped up a gear for the Manchester shows. Screens showing visuals and relaying footage of the band while they perform measure at 84 metres by 12 metres for the Heaton Park shows - 20 metres bigger than those used for the shows at the Principality Stadium in Wales. Having smashed through the two Welsh shows, reviewers attending the first of the Manchester gigs on Friday noted that the boys had eased into their showman roles. The Mirror's Daniel Bird said: "Walking out at Heaton Park, you could never have imagined that there was once a feud between the two siblings. Putting on a united front, the two legends walked out to their 2000 track, F***in' In The Bushes, to a crowd of 80,000 people, with the atmosphere instantly becoming electric." The brothers, while stood apart for the gig, shared banter with the crowd, sing side-by-side, duet and engage the audience to sing together on epic songs including Champagne Supernova. ‌ The show climaxes with a huge fireworks finale - with crowds then spilling onto the streets of Manchester where songs echo around the city. ‌ Weather warning Hell may have frozen over in order for Liam and Noel to reunite as Oasis, but the temperature at Heaton Park is anything but chilly this weekend. Temperatures are set to hit 30C on Saturday as the lads prepare to take to the stage in the Manchester area. The weather will not let up during their performance - and the air will remain hot until well after sunset, which is at 9:33pm. The mercury will dip to 25C as the sun goes down - but will remain in the 20s until well after midnight. Despite the boiling weather, showman Liam has worn his trademark parka jacket - sweating away while also singing away. On Friday night, Noel opted for a more weather friendly polo shirt and shades - with the older brother also commenting on the sun-kissed appearance of the crowds who gathered in the park for hours before the headline act began. ‌ Fans should plan for sunshine and heat. Concert organisers have advised the crowds to wear hats, sunscreen and to drink plenty of water. Setlist Oasis revealed their setlist at the first shows in Cardiff at the beginning of the month and there are rumours the boys may change up the running order of their songs as they remain on the road until 23 November when the tour ends in Brazil. However, so far the set list has remained unchanged from their first night. The current running order is; ‌ Hello Acquiesce Morning Glory ‌ Some Might Say Bring It On Down Cigarettes & Alcohol ‌ Fade Away Supersonic Roll With It ‌ Talk Tonight Half The World Away Little By Little ‌ D'You Know What I Mean? Stand By Me Cast No Shadow ‌ Slide Away Whatever Live Forever ‌ Rock 'n' Roll Star The Masterplan Don't Look Back In Anger Wonderwall Champagne Supernova
