Chaos, Combat & Charisma: Prime Video Releases The Final Electrifying Trailer For ‘Heads Of State' Starring Idris Elba & John Cena
Today (June 4th), Prime Video shared the second and final trailer for one of the most highly anticipated films of the summer. Continue reading to check it out!
In the action-comedy Heads of State , the UK Prime Minister Sam Clarke (Idris Elba) and U.S. President Will Derringer (John Cena) have a not-so-friendly and very public rivalry that jeopardizes their countries' 'special relationship.' But when they become the targets of a powerful and ruthless foreign adversary—who proves more than a match for the two leaders' security forces—they are begrudgingly forced to rely on the only two people they can trust: each other. Ultimately allied with the brilliant MI6 agent Noel Bisset, they must go on the run and find a way to work together long enough to thwart a global conspiracy that threatens the entire free world.
On top of Elba ( The Wire, Takers, Hobbs & Shaw, The Harder They Fall ) and Cena ( Daddy's Home 2, F9, The Suicide Squad ), the film also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas ( Baywatch, The Matrix Resurrections, Citadel ), Paddy Considine, Stephen Root ( King of the Hill, Dodgeball, Get Out ), Carla Gugino ( Spy Kids trilogy, American Gangster, Night at the Museum ), Jack Quaid ( The Boys, Oppenheimer, Novocaine ) and Sarah Niles ( I May Destroy You, Ted Lasso ).
Ilya Naishuller ( Hardcore Henry, Nobody ) directed Heads of State from a screenplay by Josh Appelbaum & André Nemec and Harrison Query, and story from Query. The film was produced by Peter Safran and John Rickard, with Marcus Viscidi, Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Elba and Cena serving as executive producers.
Heads of State will premiere globally on Prime Video July 2nd, 2025. In the meantime, check out the final trailer (and the first one) and some first look images from the action packed comedy below!

‘New Panty & Stocking' Just Tackled the Gen Z-Millennial Divide in the Most Absurd Style
Although Prime Video hasn't adequately promoted Studio Trigger's sequel series to the raunchy cult classic New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt, the show remains one of the funniest anime airing this season. Its latest episode prominently highlights the contentious generational divide between Millennials and Gen Z. In its sixth episode, titled 'The Brothers from Heaven,' the anime slows down its compilation of short stories to present a unified narrative filled with pop culture references throughout its 24-minute runtime. For those keeping track, this is the second time the show has adopted this approach since its premiere, the first instance being the opening episode, which had to resolve a 13-year cliffhanger. Included among the mayhem of the episode is the anime's long-teased introduction of two new angel twin characters joining the this plot-thrusting episode, two new diving troublemakers crash onto the scene: the 'twin twink angels,' Polyester and Polyurethane, played respectively by Junya Enoki (Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen) and Yūto Uemura (Thorfinn from Vinland Saga) in Japanese and by Hunter McCoy and Corey Wilder (Zanka Nijiku from Gachiakuta) in English. Teased in the anime's official trailer, their arrival throws the debaucherous angels, Panty and Anarchy, and the disgraced demons, Scanty and Kneesocks, into a chaotic scramble to buy their way back into Heaven and Hell. In the episode, we learn that Polyester and Polyurethane are Panty and Stocking's younger cousins—a familial tie that wastes no time delving into generational warfare. Their introduction, which serendipitously echoes the disruptive flair of KPop Demon Hunter's Saja Boys, threatens the show's entire dynamic with their more high-tech approach, proving to be a precognitive force that makes the girls' demon hunting for coins like Mario characters obsolete. To add even further insult to injury, Polyester and Polyurethane dish out zoomer quips, mislabeling the millennial girlies 'boomers,' using slang ('deadass,' 'no cap,' 'period,' 'sussy'), and calling the girls 'Karens,' among other kitschy TikTok lingo. Not to be outdone, the gender and generational battle throughout the episode has Panty and Stocking firing back with their own insults, representing the millennials in this divide by calling the boys 'iPad kids.' While their comeback may not be as substantial as that of the boys, as the old saying goes, 'brevity is the soul of wit,' so perhaps the girls are onto something with only one diss registering from their side of the aisle. All that said, the episode still has its fun with referential humor. Amid their contest to collect the most coins by slaying demons, the episode also continues the series' signature of pop culture references. Chief among them is a reference to John Carpenter's They Live, which sees the town of Daten City transformed into a horde of bug-eyed creatures, a Good Burger, and The Matrix's infinite armory. The last of which introduces another new character, Gunsmith Bitch, the show's second Black leading cast member. Played by Yoshino Aoyama (Hitori Gotoh in Bocchi the Rock!) in Japanese and Krysta Gonzales (Eddy Ripple in Elemental) in English. Gunsmith Bitch's whole deal is she's a nerd girl who moonlights as an arms dealer. She also has a sexual attraction to guns. She comes in handy for Panty and Stocking when Polyester and Polyurethane's Gen-Z angelic iPad-baby tactics disable the girls' divine weapons. After a glorious angel-demon team-up, the boys are defeated, and the episode sees the girls reign supreme, with their 'uncle Rami' emerging from heaven through a giant hand gag straight out of SpongeBob SquarePants, bringing the boys back to heaven. However, that's probably not the last we'll see of them because the episode's stinger sees their uncle, and Panty and Stocking's father, deliver an edict allowing them to continue running amok for his daughters. With an ending like that, fans can expect more shenanigans from Polyester and Polyurethane when new episodes of New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt air every Wednesday on Prime Video. The Boys actor Antony Starr says goodbye to his iconic Supe Homelander in farewell post: "We created a monster... and I will miss him"
When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Filming has already wrapped on The Boys season 5 and, now, Antony Starr has found the right time to say goodbye to his iconic Homelander character. In a lengthy post on Instagram, Starr paid tribute to the cast, crew, creator Eric Kripke, and – of course – The Boys' wonderfully twisted fanbase. "This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience," Starr wrote. "And of course huge gratitude to my co-parent with this twisted gem of a character [Eric Kripke]. We created a monster, sir. And I will miss him, and you. Til we roll out the last season. When I'll see you. But this creative chapter is closed, and I'll miss it, brother." You can read the full post below. Antony Starr's Homelander has been at the centre of some of The Boys' most controversial and shocking moments. Whether it was a unique act of self-love, an obsession with milk, or bumping off some of the Prime Video series' most notable characters, the stars-and-stripes-clad Supe is almost always around to wreak havoc. As of The Boys season 5, the leader of the Seven is firmly embedded in the corridors of Washington as a major figure in the U.S. government. With The Boys either on the run or in captivity, it appears all roads lead to the White House in the final season. Before then, Gen V season 2 is premiering on September 17. Antony Starr Says Goodbye to ‘The Boys' in Emotional Instagram Tribute
Antony Starr has officially hung up his Homelander cape. The actor took to Instagram on Wednesday, August 13, to commemorate the end of filming of The Boys' fifth and final season. 'Ok. Been waiting a little to let things settle and try and process the end of this show. The Boys,' Starr began his lengthy caption. 'Difficult (for me) to put into words what an incredible ride this has been. How much life and growth has occurred. How amazing the team is. It's truly been the highlight of my career.' Starr said he 'had no idea what was coming' when the Prime Video superhero series premiered back in 2019. 'This juggernaut left the station and never stopped. Except for that Covid moment. Oh and the strikes. That was a thing too,' he quipped. 'But apart from those two times, it never stopped, boldly making its mark on the television landscape. There's nothing else like it. It lives in its own lane.' Starr went on to thank the show's crew, production team, and his fellow castmates. 'The people at Amazon and Sony that took a chance on this insane thing (and made the great choice in casting me ) and all the other people that contributed in some way, big or small, to this beautiful, complex, warped, delicious show,' he wrote. Starr continued, 'I love this show. And I love this character. Truly. I will dearly miss heading to work, knowing what we were aiming for but never knowing where we would find ourselves by the end of the day…only that we would have fun and it would be creatively rewarding in the extreme. This complicated character allowed the space and range to discover and push boundaries in a way I never expected and I will always be grateful for this experience.' Nathan Mitchell via Eric Kripke on X Starr also gave a special shout-out to the show's creator, Eric Kripke, for helping him create the 'monster' that is Homelander. 'I will miss him, and you. Til we roll out the last season. When I'll see you,' he said. 'But this creative chapter is closed, and I'll miss it, brother.' Starr concluded his tribute by thanking The Boys' passionate fanbase, 'You are the life blood. Without you, we don't get to do this. And our fans are second to none. Mad love to you….and deepest respect for your taste ;),' he wrote. 'Okidoke people. We cooked for the last time. Can't wait to show you what we made. TIL that day, Homelander, signing off. Xo.' Starr's post featured behind-the-scenes and promotional photos from The Boys over the years, including a selfie he snapped while drenched in fake blood, an on-set pic of himself and Aya Cash filming her character Stormfront's near-fatal Season 2 fight, one of the show's first posters of Homelander, and more. Several of Starr's costars shared their love in the post's comments. 'Love you buddy ,' wrote Nathan Mitchell, a.k.a. Black Noir. Erin Moriarty, who plays Starlight, commented, 'A gift to get to watch your masterclass in acting, let alone boogie w you during it. .' Karen Fukuhara, who plays Kimiko Miyashiro, wrote, 'What a f**king time we had. Grateful to have had this experience with you + greatly miss it already .' Kripke announced that Season 5 had wrapped filming by sharing a photo of his last time standing on the Seven meeting room set via Instagram on July 1. 'It's bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude. We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing,' he captioned the pic. 'You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you're lucky. We got all of them. To #TheBoys family: thank you, I love you all. To the fans: thanks for watching, can't wait for you to see the grand finale. That's a wrap.' , Season 5 Premiere, TBA, Prime Video Solve the daily Crossword
