On Shanaya's Debut Day, Maheep Kapoor Seeks Blessings At Mt Mary Church

It was a proud and emotional Friday for the Kapoor clan as Shanaya Kapoor's much-awaited Bollywood debut film Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan released in theatres nationwide. Alongside Vikrant Massey, she is playing a theatre performer in the film, winning hearts with what the audience dubbed as a promising debut. To mark the major milestone for daughter Shanaya, Maheep Kapoor visited Mount Mary Church in Bandra, Mumbai, seeking blessings on the important day.
The entrepreneur and Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives fame, Maheep, was spotted with her parents for a spiritual visit. Keeping it casual yet chic, Maheep wore a simple black T-shirt and wide-leg denim jeans.
Hours before visiting the church, Maheep Kapoor shared a touching post comprising a string of throwback pictures featuring Shanaya Kapoor and other family members. It was attached to a heartfelt tribute, encapsulating her emotions and excitement for her daughter's debut.
The nostalgic carousel of unseen childhood pictures of Shanaya included her adorable toddler moments and glimpses of family celebrations. In the end, there was an official poster of the film. Alongside the images, Maheep wrote, 'My baby's FIRST movie is out in cinemas [face with tears of joy, red hearts, folded hands emojis] . God is kind [red hearts] #GratitudeAlways [red hearts] Aankhon ki Gustaakhiyan in cinemas near you."
The post reflected on Maheep's immense pride in her daughter's debut and soon struck a chord with fans, friends and fellow industry members.
Earlier, during an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha, Maheep Kapoor expressed her excitement before her daughter's debut. In a recorded video, she said, 'Shanaya, the love of my life, I am so excited. You are about to start a brand new chapter, a very exciting chapter in your life. And I just want to tell you, your first movie is always going to have that extra magic and that extra sparkle and that extra sweetness because it's your first."
About Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan, the romantic musical, adapted from Ruskin Bond's short story The Eyes Have It, is directed by Santosh Singh and written by Mansi Bagla. Agency: PTI Mathura/Varanasi (UP), Aug 16 (PTI) Lakhs of devotees from across the world gathered in Mathura on Saturday to celebrate Janmasthami, with pilgrims queuing up since early morning to catch a glimpse of the deity in the birth place of Lord Krishna. Janmashtami was celebrated with great pomp throughout the Braj region, but the main ceremony was held at the Radha Krishna temple within the Bhagwat Bhavan complex here. Officials said the enthusiasm was palpable as devotees sought to catch a glimpse of 'thakur' (god), with queues forming as early as late Friday night at the northern gate of the temple. The eagerness of the crowd persisted late into the night, as the celebrations headed for a climax. The city and the municipal administrations transformed Mathura for the occasion, as roads and crossings were specially decorated, with scenes from 'Krishna Leela' set up as selfie points. Various cultural events hosted folk artistes from different parts of India, showcasing Awadhi, Bundelkhandi, Rajasthani and Haryanvi traditions through their art. Food, water and 'sherbet' were distributed free of cost to the pilgrims at multiple locations. To ensure the safety of the devotees, the city and the temple premises were divided into four zones and 18 sectors, with heavy police deployment at every point, the officials said. Janmashtami was was also celebrated with special rituals in Varanasi. According to the officials of the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, clothes and gifts were sent from here to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi in Mathura for the occasion.
