Golden State Warriors jersey history - No. 20 - Brian Shaw (1997-98)
Founded in 1946 during the Basketball Association of America (BAA -- a precursor league of the NBA) era, the team has called home the cities of Philadelphia, San Francisco, Oakland, and even San Diego.
To commemorate the players who wore those numbers, Warriors Wire is covering the entire history of jersey numbers and the players who sported them since the founding of the team. For this article, we begin with the 18th of 29 players who wore the No. 20 jersey for the Warriors.
That player would be Golden State guard alum Brian Shaw. After ending his college career at UC Santa Barbara, Shaw was picked up with the 24th overall selection of the 1988 NBA Draft by the Boston Celtics.
The Oakland, California native also played abroad, for the Miami Heat, and Orlando Magic before he was traded t the Dubs in 1997. His stay with the team would span just 39 games before he'd be dealt again, this time to the Philadelphia 76ers in 1998.
During his time suiting up for the Warriors, Shaw wore only jersey No. 20 and put up 6.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game.

Celtics Mailbag: Future center options, Al Horford outlook
The Celtics now know what their 2025-26 season will look like after Thursday's schedule release. The team also did some tweaking to the roster in the past two weeks by bringing aboard two-way forward RJ Luis and releasing Miles Norris. With more potential tweaks possible in the weeks ahead of training camp, let's take a look at some potential tinkering options for Boston in this week's mailbag along with the roster itself. Hello Brian. Who do you think will be in the starting lineup, and 10 man rotation to start the season? — CsFanMan A lot changes in a year and figuring out the starting lineup for this group is probably a great example of that. Replacing three starters is never easy but doing so when Jayson Tatum, Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis are the guys no longer available makes life a bit tougher. Jaylen Brown and Derrick White are the obvious ones to keep their spots. Give me Payton Pritchard in the backcourt alongside White. He's earned a bigger role given the state of this roster and it makes sense to find out this year what he can do as a starter since Anfernee Simons isn't probably a part of this team's long-term future. After that? It depends on how Joe Mazzulla wants to play. If he's starting small with one big, Sam Hauser is probably your other forward and a strong rebounding big like Neemias Queta is a likely option at center. If Mazzulla opts for double bigs, Chris Boucher could hypothetically play some power forward as well with his range. Hauser and Queta would be my bet for now barring a wildcard emerging in training camp (Josh Minott?). For 10-man rotation, give me the starters, Simons, Baylor Scheierman, Luka Garza, Chris Boucher and one of Josh Minott/Jordan Walsh. Any chance Horford returns to the Celtics? The longer he is not signed the better chance the chances get. — Paul The strong belief around the league is that he's gone, something Brad Stevens openly admitted to last month. The Celtics are likely only offering him the veteran's minimum and he can get far more elsewhere along with a better chance of winning another title this season. The waiting game is expected to end up with him landing in Golden State once a resolution is reached with Jonathan Kuminga. If a signing doesn't come after that, maybe retirement is actually in the cards. Rank the following players by how much time they will play per game. First rank most minutes last rank least minutes. Hauser, Queta, Boucher, Garza, Minott, Tillman. — PD I actually may go with the actual order of the list you already laid out. Hauser and Queta would be my bets to be the starters. Boucher is going to play off the bench, as will Garza. It's highly possible Minott beats out Garza for more minutes if he emerges as a top reserve wing option over the likes of Scheierman and Walsh. Tillman is only 26 but with his injury history and play last year, is at the bottom of the pecking order on the depth chart until his play proves otherwise. Hey Brian, Wondering how the Celts could address the lack of long term Center and Power Forward options to correct what feels like a critical flaw. Waiting until next year when Tatum is back to try and fill both center and power forward of the future seems like a huge gamble. How would you feel about trading Hauser, Scheierman and if needed for salary matching, Tillman for one of these bigs? Isaiah Stewart, Onyeka Okongwu, Daniel Gafford Salary ranges match, all 3 are young enough to view as long term fits and celts are giving up enough to be potentially appealing offers .Am I being unrealistic? — Steve The future of the center position is very much a real concern given the turnover we've seen this offseason. All of the names you mentioned would be major upgrades but I don't think any would be available for Hauser and Scheierman straight up in a trade. All of those guys are starting level players on playoff teams making reasonable money. They can be head but it's going to take much more than Hauser and Scheierman to land them. The guess for now is the Celtics don't make a move for their future center until next summer since they want to evaluate in-house talent and don't want to be adding any more payroll to this group for the 2025-26 season with Tatum out. Once Tatum is back healthy, the Celtics do have a few TPEs that could be put to use next summer if cheaper center options don't pan out this year.
