White Lotus star breaks down in tears as he finally addresses feud with co-star

Daily Mirror2 days ago

Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood - who played Rick Hackett and his Chelsea in The White Lotus - have broken their silence months after their reported feud
Their on-screen chemistry and complicated love story left White Lotus viewers enthralled - but that didn't help stop rumours of a backstage feud between actors Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood after one particularly awkward social media interaction.
But the pair, who played mysterious Rick Hackett and his girlfriend Chelsea, have finally spoken out - revealing why they've only seen each other once since season three's February premiere.

And Walton, unable to hold back his emotions, declared "I love this woman madly" about Aimee in a bid to set the record straight.

Two months since the show's dramatic finale, the pair have reunited for Variety magazine as they got up close and personal once again. Speaking of the moment they met for the very first time, Aimee revealed he had texted her to come over for lunch. She said: "I didn't know what to order. I was like, 'Can you pick for me?' I was so nervous."
Walton added: "The minute she walked around the corner, I felt, 'This is gonna work. Two minutes into the conversation, it felt like I've known this person for 100 years."
Despite suggestions of a feud, Walton was also very keen to reiterate that Aimee is "so important" to him as he began to choke up.
He told the magazine: "There is no feud. I adore, I love this woman madly, and she is so important to me." Turning to Aimee, he continued: "This is Goldie Hawn. This is Meg Ryan. She can do anything, and she will. You watch what the next 20 years of her experience will be. I'll be on an island, I think Greece. But she's special. There is no feud. She is love and I know that I am that to her. We care about each other very deeply."
Aimee also responded to the feud rumours and Walton unfollowing her on Instagram, which she doesn't appear fussed about at all.

"I think it's such a comment on where we're at culturally. Why is everyone obsessing over Instagram? That is irrelevant. We don't give a s***e about Instagram," she said.
While she had initially wanted to respond to the feud claims over the following, Aimee said that she decided to just "sit back and watch these people making something out of absolutely nothing".

Explaining further about the unfollowing, Walton - whose first wife tragically died by suicide in 2004 - suggested that he simply wasn't good with goodbyes and unfollowed anyone who was part of the show after filming wrapped up.
In tears, he said: "I knew what we had gone through, and I knew how close that we had gotten, and I needed to begin to process saying goodbye to Rick and Chelsea."

Walton went on to say that he had just needed to take a step back from everyone after filming ended and he hasn't spoken to anyone as he "couldn't handle it". He added: "Judge me or don't. I don't give a f*** what you think. This is my process. Rick means everything to me, and Chelsea means everything to me."
As the interview wrapped up, Walton declared that he would follow Aimee on Instagram again, declaring it all "ridiculous" and that he would be friends with her "for f***ing ever".
Crying again as he hugged his former co-star, Walton added: "I'm emotional because we haven't been in the same city to ever talk about this. So for me, this is just so wonderful."

Sue Cleaver reflects on '25 years of laughs' after Coronation Street exit

Eileen Grimshaw had a special send-off during Friday's episode of the soap, where she was seen leaving for Thailand alongside her son Jason Grimshaw, played by Ryan Thomas. Simon Gregson's character Steve McDonald, Tony Maudsley's George Shuttleworth, and Eileen's son Todd, played by Gareth Pierce, all said goodbye to the matriarch before drivers from the local taxi firm honked their horns as she was driven off. In an Instagram post, Cleaver said: 'Well… that's a wrap. 25 years of laughs, tears, costumes, chaos — and one unforgettable journey. A post shared by Sue Cleaver (@officialsuecleaver) 'I'll miss this character like crazy, but what a ride it's been. Thank you for every moment.' Cleaver has played the outspoken and uncomplicated Eileen in the ITV show since 2000. Eileen came to Weatherfield to work at the local taxi firm, Streetcars, to provide for her two tearaway teenage children, Jason and Todd. She soon became friends with her boss Steve and came into conflict with Helen Worth's character Gail Rodwell (also known as Gail Platt). Cleaver took part in I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! in 2022, where she opened up about reconciling with her birth mother, and was eliminated third. She also said her family is 'bizarrely interconnected' to other Coronation Street stars, including Worth who is godmother to one of her half-sisters, while her other half-sister's husband, John Bowe, appeared on the cobbles as Duggie Ferguson. In 2024, she released a book A Work In Progress in which she discusses how she feels she is not past her prime. In recent years she has appeared as a panellist on ITV chat show Loose Women.

Meghan Markle shares video of her, Prince Harry and their kids at Disneyland

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, continues to share sweet snippets of her family life with husband Prince Harry and their two kids, Archie and Lilibet. In her latest Instagram post, the former Meghan Markle shared a video collage filled with photos of their trip to Disneyland for their daughter's fourth birthday. 'Thank you @disneyland for giving our family two days of pure joy!' Meghan captioned her post Friday. The video, set to Peggy Lee's 'It's a Good Day,' shows Lilbet and Archie meeting Elsa and Anna from 'Frozen.' In all the pictures she included of their little ones, their faces are obscured or covered with a heart. The recap of their trip to the Happiest Place on Earth also includes the family on rides like Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance, the Cars Land ride and many more. There's also a silly photo of Meghan and Harry screaming while on Space Mountain. The two are sitting front row with their mouths wide open — yet appearing like they're having fun. And the festivities continued for the family of four. Meghan also shows Lilibet's 'Little Mermaid' birthday cake, their Mickey and Minnie stuffed dolls, the corn dogs and pickles they munched on during their trip and several other family photos from the park. Among the cutest is one of all four posing together, in which Lilibet is barefoot and in a pink dress with bows. The latest look into Meghan's personal home life comes after she celebrated her daughter's birthday on June 4. The former 'Suits' star shared a number of photos of her little girl from when she was born to their most recent adventures together. There were also snaps of Harry and his 'favorite adventurer' holding hands. 'Happy birthday to our beautiful girl! Four years ago today she came into our lives — and each day is brighter and better because of it. Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!' Meghan wrote in her first post. Additionally, she also posted a never-before-seen video of when she was pregnant with Lilibet and dancing with Harry at the hospital in hopes to induce labor. 'Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week past their due dates… so when spicy food, all that walking, and acupuncture didn't work — there was only one thing left to do!' she captioned the fun and rare video of them. Meghan returned to Instagram on Jan. 1 after leaving the platform in early 2018 during her highly publicized engagement to Harry. Among her posts include family photos, outings and news about her podcast, Netflix projects and more.

Lisa Kudrow says her Friends character Phoebe ‘was so far from who I am'

The 61-year-old from Los Angeles played one of six friends featured in the hit US sitcom which also starred Jennifer Aniston, David Schwimmer, Matt Le Blanc and the late Matthew Perry. Speaking to US actress Parker Posey for Variety's Actors On Actors series, she said: 'It (the series) was fun the whole time, because we had fun, the cast had fun. 'It was like a collaboration with the writers, because they were so great and nice and good. 'But me being Phoebe was so far from who I was as a human being that it was work. 'I needed to justify everything she was saying in my head so that it felt like she meant it and it was real to her. It was a lot of work. 'And I remember like season two or three, and I was just doing it, and went, 'Oh my god, I'm not doing the work. I don't know if this is going as well. I'm not doing the work'. 'I was really fretting over it. And (Matt) LeBlanc went, 'What's the matter with you?'. I said, 'I'm not doing the work that I did. I used to like really work, and he said, 'You're her. You don't have to do it anymore'.' Alongside her role in Friends, Kudrow is known for starring in a number of TV series as well as comedy films Romy and Michele's High School Reunion and The Opposite Of Sex. In 2023 she thanked her late co-star Perry for 'the best 10 years a person gets to have' while filming Friends in a tribute following his death at the age of 54. During their conversation, Posey, who has starred in films including Dazed And Confused and Superman Returns, spoke about one of her more recent roles playing a southern woman called Victoria Ratliff in season three of Mike White's dark comedy, The White Lotus. She said: 'It was such a gift to have this middle-aged woman at this time in my life, in my career, to be the southern woman. 'I was reading Tennessee Williams in junior high and high school and southern writers and all of this. So I was like, I just ate it up.'
