Moment wanted man is caught hiding in HOT TUB by police sniffer dog
The criminal, who had strategically sheltered in the tub, even stripped down naked in a desperate bid to flee from officers.
However, both the pile of clothes and bright white shoes left directly outside of the tub were somewhat of a giveaway.
Despite his best efforts at holding his breath underwater, police dog Luna led her handler straight to the fugitive after identifying his scent on the discarded outfit.
The clever animal then rested her head on the lid of the hot tub, where the bizarre discovery was made.
Body cam footage captured by a puzzled Cumbria Police Officer revealed the moment the man was eventually found in the water, with the officer announcing: 'I've got a chap hiding in a hot tub, we need to find out who he is'.
Speaking to other officers via a radio, he asked: 'Did anyone happen to notice his footwear on CCTV?'
Ultimately accepting that the ruse was up, the man in hiding eventually revealed himself to the officer on the scene, who said: 'Hello, fella. Who are you? Are you my fella?'

Several officers were then captured holding onto the man's arms as they attempted to pull him from the water as the officer declared: 'He's hiding under the water of the hot tub.
'To cut a long story short, he ran out of breath when the dog was looking for him.'
In response to the video, one social media user praised the criminal's unique hiding technique as 'genius', adding: 'great work canine'.
Meanwhile, another spoke highly of the police dog's ability to catch the concealed criminal, adding: 'Well done PD Luna'.
Police confirmed that the fugitive was later convicted of several offences that included dangerous driving and disqualified driving.
He appeared at Barrow-in-Furness magistrates court on April 4, following his arrest on February 8.
The criminal was jailed for a year and disqualified from driving for five years, five months and 28 days. He also received a fine of £787.
A spokesperson for the force said: 'PD Luna successfully found a man who was hiding in a hot tub.
'The man was arrested and went on to be convicted of offences including dangerous driving and disqualified driving.'

Cumbria Police has been approached for further comment.
In 2020, a criminal tried to hide in a jacuzzi after leading police on a terrifying 80mph chase the wrong day down a dual carriageway.
Jay Hursham, 23, clambered into the hot tub as armed cops tracked him down to a family's back garden following his role in a machete attack.
A police helicopter's thermal camera shows Hursham being hauled out of the jacuzzi as officers train their rifles on him.
He was one of three people who were caught on camera leading officers on a high-speed chase the wrong way down the A127 near Brentwood, Essex, causing lorries and cars to swerve to avoid a collision.
The trio had attacked a man in his 20s hours earlier, leaving him with life-changing injuries in South Ockendon just after midnight on July 1, 2020.
In March 2022, Hursham and his accomplices - Bradley Dulieu (pictured left), 22, and 20-year-old Talliq Mwalim (right) - were jailed for a total of 57 years at Basildon Crown Court

Helicopter footage shows Hursham, Dulieu and Mwalim as they flee in a grey BMW X5 while being pursued by police.
Traffic police shunted into the car, bringing it to a halt in a residential area of Upminster, East London.
The driver, Dulieu, was arrested in the car, while Mwalim was detained after a short foot chase.
Hursham made off over residents' fences and through their gardens before trying to hide inside a hot tub.
Armed officers, guided by a police helicopter, surrounded the hot tub and pulled Hursham out where he was arrested while covered in blood.
Following a trial on December 20 last year, Hursham and Mwalim were convicted of attempted murder, while Dulieu was found guilty of GBH with intent.

Premiere League opener halted after Antoine Semenyo reports racist abuse
A man was ejected from Anfield Stadium after reports of racial abuse directed at Bournemouth winger Antoine Semenyo during the season's opening Premier League game against Liverpool. Match referee Anthony Taylor paused play in the 29th minute after Semenyo accused a spectator of racist abuse. An anti-discrimination message was read out to the Anfield crowd, and it is understood that police officers went into the referee's room at half-time. Merseyside Police said an investigation is under way after the 47-year-old man's identity was confirmed and he was removed from the ground. Chief Inspector Kev Chatterton, the match commander for the Liverpool v Bournemouth game, said: "Merseyside Police will not tolerate hate crime of any form. "We take incidents like this very seriously, and in cases like this we will be proactively seeking football banning orders, with the club, against those responsible." He added: "There is no place for racism and it is vital that anyone who witnesses such an offence reports it to stewards, or the police immediately, so we can take the necessary action like we did this evening. "As with all matches, we work very closely with both Liverpool and Everton FC to ensure the safety of the public, and the players." A spokesperson for Liverpool said the club was "aware of an allegation of racist abuse made during our Premier League game against Bournemouth". The Liverpool spokesperson said: "We condemn racism and discrimination in all forms, it has no place in society, or football. "The club is unable to comment further as tonight's alleged is incident is the subject of an ongoing police investigation, which we will support fully." After the incident, Semenyo scored twice in the second half to help bring Bournemouth back from two goals down at Anfield before Liverpool went on to eventually win the contest 4-2. Bournemouth captain Adam Smith told Sky Sports News afterwards: "It shouldn't be happening. I don't know how Ant's played on to be honest and come up with those goals. It's totally unacceptable. "Something needs to be done. Taking the knee isn't having an effect. We're supporting him and hopefully he'll be OK. "I wanted him to react because that's what I would have done, but this shows what type of man he come up with those goals showed the type of guy he is. "To be fair the Liverpool players were very supportive as well towards Antoine and the rest of the team. It was handled in the right way but... so angry. "I don't know what else we can do. No one's getting it. I don't know what to say anymore. I just feel for Ant... shocking." The Premier League said in a statement that its "on-field anti-discrimination protocol" had been followed and the incident "will now be fully investigated". "We offer our full support to the player and both clubs," it added. "Racism has no place in our game, or anywhere in society. We will continue to work with stakeholders and authorities to ensure our stadiums are an inclusive and welcoming environment for all." The Football Association said it was "concerned" about the allegation of racism towards Semenyo and that it would ensure "appropriate action" would be taken. The incident comes two days after Tottenham Hotspur player Mathys Tel faced racist abuse online following a missed penalty in his team's UEFA Super Cup victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

Brazen thieves target footy legend's luxury car in broad daylight - leaving his young family 'rattled'
Footy legend Trent Cotchin and his family remain in disbelief after they were victims of a daylight robbery. The triple-premiership captain with Richmond and Brownlow Medallist had numerous items stolen from his Mercedes outside his Moonee Ponds home, in Melbourne's north-west, on Thursday. His wife Brooke later posted security footage of a car pulling up in front of their house around 6pm. A hooded thief can be seen hovering over Cotchin's car - which was unlocked - before opening the door and helping himself to a wallet, including an Amex card. Cotchin has confirmed multiple transactions were made on the card before it was locked. Victoria Police were then spotted at Cotchin's house on Friday morning taking statements. Footy legend Trent Cotchin and his family remain in disbelief after they were victims of a daylight robbery this week in suburban Melbourne The triple-premiership captain with Richmond and Brownlow Medallist had numerous items stolen from his luxury Mercedes (pictured) outside his Moonee Ponds home on Thursday Cotchin's wife Brooke told Instagram followers her family were left 'rattled' by the incident The footy star's wife posted on Instagram anything 'half valuable' in the vehicle was taken, but Cotchin's mouthwash, toothbrush and toothpaste were left behind. She added her family were left 'rattled' by the incident. Cotchin retired at the end of 2023 following a brilliant career with the Tigers, which included flags in 2017, 2019 and 2020. He captained the team to all three premierships, and also snared three best and fairest gongs at Punt Road during his storied 306-game career. Away from footy, Cotchin was recently mortified when he appeared on Channel Seven's Dancing With The Stars. While he impressed when performing a Cha Cha with Jess Raffa, the decorated midfielder was left with a questionable red lipstick mark on his crotch. It was all good natured, with Cotchin admitting it was 'extremely awkward' before playfully asking host Sonia Kruger to 'move on' when questioned about the stain. Dancing With The Stars fans previously noted Cotchin had been a little hesitant to dance with Raffa during early days of the show. Many felt the footy star didn't feel comfortable dancing with another woman who was not his wife and childhood sweetheart, Brooke.
