Man left floored at price two meals at McDonald's in Benidorm

Irish Daily Mirror11 hours ago
One TikToker was left shocked at the cheap price of McDonald's in a Spanish holiday hotspot.
While the fast food eatery is known for its generally cheap food, this British man who was on holiday in Benidorm was floored at the cost of two meals from the Spanish Maccies.
"Could this be the nicest McDonald's in the whole entire world?" Harry, who posts on TikTok as @harrytokky, asked his followers. He showed the view from the Maccies, saying: "You're not gonna get better than this." Unlike your typical Maccies outlets, this one looks out onto the sea.
But he then joked "who cares about the view," saying that he was going to go inside because he was "desperate for a Happy Meal", The Mirror UK reports.
Sitting outside, he said: "And just like that, the food has arrived. Now you will not believe how cheap this was. We've got two meals here. Guess how much this costs? €11".
Harry continued, explaining that there are two fries, two burgers, two drinks, and some chicken nuggets on the side as well.
He gushed: "I mean, €11? What do you think guys? I think that's an absolute bargain, let's be honest. €11? In the UK, that'd probably be at least £20."
While some people in the comments section moaned that Benidorm McDonald's has "slow" service, others said the wait was well worth it.
One said they'd had the "best Big Mac" ever at the Benidorm Maccies, while another gushed it was the "best view" you'll get under the Golden Arches.
However, the taste may differ. One visitor remarked: "Their chicken nuggets are definitely different from English ones".
People have also taken to TripAdvisor to share their experiences of Benidorm's McDonald's. One said it was a "fantastic" place to get "cheap food on vacation" while in Spain.
Meanwhile, another reviewer wrote: "Visited this McDonald's as we wanted something like home while on holidays, and it was a great experience. I got the McCrispy Burger meal, and we got the bacon & cheese wedges for sharing, and it was all so delicious!
"It came out slightly colder than we would have liked, but we still ate it. The restaurant was clean and the staff were lovely!
"We used the machines as you entered to order our food, and they provided all languages. McFlurry was great as well. Will definitely be recommending to friends and family".

I visited the UK seaside town that looks like it belongs in Italy – with multicoloured houses and open air pool

TUCKED away in rural Wales is a place that's been hailed as 'picture postcard perfect' for almost 100 years. In fact, 6 I took a trip to the small Italian-inspired village Portmeirion Credit: Alamy 6 My boys loved Portmeirion despite the lack of playgrounds and go-karts Credit: Catherine Lofthouse I took my boys to see why the North Wales holiday resort has been on the must-visit list for decades. With visitors likening it to 'a slice of Italy on the British coast', I had high hopes, but I wasn't sure what my boys would make of it considering it's quite far removed from our I needn't have worried though, as the Made up of colourful houses and vibrant gardens set around a bay, the charming hotel-cum-holiday-park features two four-star hotels, one of which is set inside a castle, plus a motor-home park and several self-catering cottages. There are accommodation options to suit everyone and it really has got the wow factor that makes you think you're a million miles away from Wales. There's no playground or family-friendly features, just an old-world charm that suits quiet, meandering rather than rambunctious roaming and boisterous boys. On arrival, we spent a happy few hours on the giant chess set in the garden while my littlest paddled in the shallow pool nearby. One of the big travel trends over the past few years is set-jetting - fans of film and TV using their holidays to take them to the sights they've seen on screen. Most read in Family Think Death in Paradise viewers heading to the Caribbean island of Guadaloupe or Harry Potter fans taking a train trip on the tracks of the Hogwarts Express. But that's been happening here at Portmeirion for 50 years now, after the site shot to fame when it was used to film TV show The Prisoner. Its unique look was the perfect backdrop for this cult classic, in which a government agent is abducted and held captive in an idyllic seaside village which turns out to be a prison. I've never seen the show as it was a bit before my time, but heading down a shady path through rhondendron bushes and trees towards the shoreline put me in mind of Rebecca, the famous Daphne du Maurier novel set on a Cornish coastal estate. And maybe that's the secret to this special spot - you feel like you're stepping onto a film set or into the pages of your favourite novel, but it's entirely your choice which fantasy world that might be. But there's no chance of that happening here as there's something new to marvel at around every corner and so many little nooks and crannies to explore as you wind your way around the site and come across buildings, grottos and pools around every corner, framing the bay beyond. There's even an open air swimming pool for the use of holidaymakers staying in the cottages dotted around the village, the main hotel at its entrance or the motorhome park nearby. It's a century since architect Clough Williams-Ellis first started designing and building Portmeirion and it took 50 years to complete. His vision feels just as vibrant today as it ever did. You don't have to be spending the night to enjoy the wealth of facilities, either. Day passes to Portmeirion cost £37 for one adult and two children, with lots of different family tickets up to two adults and five children for £79. If you're touring Wales in a motorhome, there are pitches here which start at £55 per night and include complimentary access to the site out of hours and use of the outdoor pool. That's an option to consider if you want to see for yourself why this Welsh wonder and OG set-jetting site is still going strong after a century in situ. Holidaymaker dies suddenly on Greece beach after 'feeling ill' on sun lounger

A holidaymaker has died while in holiday in Crete after reportedly falling ill on a sun lounger. The 74-year-old British man was found unconscious around noon on Sunday at Stalis Beach, a well-known tourist spot on the Greek island. Concerned beachgoers spotted him and alerted emergency services, Mirror UK reports. Despite efforts by paramedics from the Hellenic National Center for Emergency Care (EKAB), he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. It is believed the man had been swimming shortly before returning to his lounger and it has been reported that he had a "strong feeling" of sickness shortly before his death. Authorities have not yet confirmed a cause of death and an autopsy is currently underway, according to local news outlet His death follows a series of recent tragedies involving British holidaymakers abroad. Just weeks earlier, a 73-year-old man was found unresponsive on a beach in Agia Paraskevi on the Skiathos Greek island. Despite a doctor spending 40 minutes attempting to revive him, he could not be saved. On June 12, a 68-year-old also died after losing consciousness while swimming off Lindos beach in Rhodes. He was rushed to a nearby health centre by the Central Port Authority, where he was pronounced dead. In Spain, another British tourist died in a suspected drowning after getting into difficulty during a late-evening swim at the popular Fuengirola resort. Bystanders pulled him from the sea and called emergency services, but paramedics were unable to revive him. Also in Spain, two tourists died in separate falls in the past two weeks. Marcus Rashford travels to Catalonia as Barcelona move appears close

Marcus Rashford appears to be closing in on his anticipated move to Barcelona after travelling to Catalonia on Sunday evening. Rashford posted on social media a picture of himself travelling on a private plane, and Spanish media reported that the Manchester United forward had arrived in Catalonia at around 9.30pm local time. The PA news agency understands a broad agreement is in place following talks between United and Barcelona over a season-long loan that would include an option to buy. The 27-year-old has not played for his boyhood club since being hauled off in a Europa League match away to Viktoria Plzen on December 12 and ended the season on loan at Aston Villa. Rashford is among five players to have informed United they wish to explore a future away from Old Trafford, where he came through the academy and scored 138 goals in 426 first-team appearances. He has been training away from Ruben Amorim's first-team since pre-season began while seeking a fresh start elsewhere. In December, the England international admitted he was 'ready for a new challenge' and last month revealed he would like to play alongside Barcelona's teenage prodigy Lamine Yamal. Marcus Rashford finished last season on loan at Aston Villa (Jacob King/PA) Barcelona sporting director Deco in May told Catalan radio station RAC1 that the club 'like' Rashford, who does not have a squad number at United having lost the 10 shirt to new signing Matheus Cunha. Cunha is one of two new signings at United this summer, with the club having also added left-back Diego Leon. Bryan Mbeumo is set to join them at Old Trafford, with the Cameroon forward in the final stages of completing his move after United finally struck a deal with Brentford worth £65million plus up to £6million in add-ons.
