‘Over 17L women become Lakhpati Didis in Uttar Pradesh'
The first meeting of the state-level coordination committee (SLCC), constituted under the Lakhpati Didi programme, was held under the chairmanship of chief secretary Manoj Kumar Singh on Monday.
Praising the efforts of the programme in empowering women and making them financially self-reliant, he called for expanding the 'Didi ki Rasoi' initiative and 'Prerna Canteens' not only in schools but also in industrial areas. He also emphasised better coordination among departments to enhance the impact of the programme.
Mission director of Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission (UPSRLM), Deepa Ranjan, presented key achievements during the meeting. She informed that as many as 17.09 lakh women had become Lakhpati Didis so far.
Revolving funds have been provided to 7.17 lakh self-help groups (SHGs), while 5.74 lakh SHGs have received community investment funds. Additionally, bank loans have been extended to 7.26 lakh SHGs.
Key interventions include, 49,800 women linked to integrated farming clusters (IFCs),5,000 involved in beekeeping, 2,500 in sericulture, and 2,000 in fish farming, 20,000 women selected under the One Lakh Women Entrepreneurs (DA) initiative, 30,100 Vidyut Sakhis and 39,779 BC Sakhis onboarded, 30,561 small entrepreneurs nurtured under the SHG-based village entrepreneurship programme (SVEP), 20,000 women connected to Prerna Ojas solar-based initiatives,2.64 lakh women benefited through 5 dairy producer companies and 1.80 lakh women linked to Producer Groups (PGs) and 23,509 to farmer producer organisations (FPOs)
Additionally, 1.25 lakh women are benefiting from Take Home Ration (THR) plants, and 8,929 SHG Didis have been linked to micro food processing enterprises under the PM-FME scheme.
The state aims to raise the annual household income of 28.92 lakh SHG members to over ₹1 lakh by the financial year 2026-27.

"Similar engagements would be organised in cities like Bengaluru, Chennai and Hyderabad. Additionally, international think tanks from the US and Europe will be engaged for roadshows in global cities to attract further investment," he said.

Pradhan hails 11 yrs of NDA rule as era of transparent and transformative governance
Hyderabad, June 10 (UNI) Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday said that the NDA government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has ushered in a transparent, decisive, and trustworthy governance model that has significantly transformed India's global standing. Addressing a press conference at the BJP state office in Nampally to mark the completion of 11 years of the NDA government, Pradhan recalled that prior to 2014, India was perceived as economically fragile and lacking international credibility. He said this image has undergone a remarkable shift, with India now standing as the fourth-largest economy in the world. 'The trust placed in Prime Minister Modi's leadership has been validated through consistent performance and transformative initiatives,' he stated. Pradhan highlighted key milestones achieved by the government, including the construction of four crore houses under various housing schemes and the commitment to deliver an additional two crore homes. He pointed to initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat and the widespread availability of affordable medicines through Jan Aushadhi Kendras as examples of the government's emphasis on accessible healthcare. He underlined the government's focus on youth and women empowerment, citing schemes like Lakhpati Didi and various skill development programmes designed to create self-reliant citizens. In the rural and agricultural sectors, Pradhan noted that Rs 3.7 lakh crore has been disbursed through the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. He also highlighted significant investments in agricultural infrastructure, the issuance of soil health cards, and enhanced support for small and marginal farmers. Speaking on infrastructure development, Pradhan said the past decade has seen substantial growth in railways, highways, airports, and digital infrastructure, laying a robust foundation for sustainable economic growth. He added that each rupee spent by the government is now creating five times the impact at the grassroots level, reflecting the effectiveness of the current economic model. Pradhan observed that India has emerged as a key destination for global investment, with international companies increasingly viewing the country as central to their expansion strategies. He lauded the southern states—Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, and Kerala—for their leadership in innovation and entrepreneurship, and cited Hyderabad's emergence as a hub for Global Capability Centres (GCCs) as a symbol of India's growing role in the knowledge economy. On higher education, the Minister advocated for greater institutional autonomy and flexibility to help increase the Gross Enrolment Ratio from the current 27 per cent to 50 per cent by 2035. He stressed that trust and freedom for educational institutions are essential to meeting the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy. Pradhan described the past 11 years under the NDA regime as a 'golden chapter' in India's governance history. Odisha will be among five best states in Country by 2036: CM Majhi
Bhubaneswar, June 10 (UNI) Odisha, now a model for the entire country in good governance, will definitely be among the five best states in India by 2036, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi said. 'We will make Odisha a $500 billion economy,' Majhi said, adding that by 2036, it will emerge as a prosperous state, and by 2047, it will play a significant role in building a developed India as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the media on the eve of the successful completion of one year in governance in Odisha, the Chief Minister claimed, 'We have achieved many successes in one year.' Stating that it has been 'One year, many successes,' Majhi said that one year has passed since the formation of his government and in just two days, a full year will have elapsed. The Chief Minister said that in this short period, they have been able to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the four and a half crore people of the state. 'The biggest proof of this is that in just a few days, the general public has called the new government a 'people's government' and the Chief Minister a 'people's Chief Minister,' he added. Majhi further said that with the blessings of Lord Jagannath, they have been able to fulfill all major promises and credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his guidance, stating that he has stood by them in all their endeavors. 'With his inspiration, all our programs have reached the pinnacle of success,' Majhi said. He added that on June 20, Modi will visit Odisha for the sixth time and will inspire them to continue serving the people of the state. Majhi said that last year, on the evening of June 12, the first cabinet meeting began with four important decisions: the launch of Subhadra Yojana, an additional Rs. 800 for the purchase of paddy per quintal besides the MSP , opening all four gates of the Sri Jagannath Temple, and the creation of a corpus fund of Rs. 500 crore for the temple's development. He claimed that in the last 12 months, they have fulfilled almost all major commitments and made Odisha the top state in the country in creating 17 lakh 'Lakhpati Didis.' The Chief Minister pointed out that a record allocation of Rs. 37,838 crore has been made in the agriculture sector along with the introduction of the Samrudh Krishi Yojana. He also highlighted the establishment of Godavarish Mishra Adarsh Vidyalaya in the education sector, the implementation of the new education policy, the launch of Sishu Batika for the first time in the country, the implementation of Ayushman Bharat Yojana in the health sector, a record allocation of Rs. 65,102 crore for infrastructure, and an allocation of Rs. 68,881 crore for the welfare of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes as major achievements of his government. The Chief Minister said the most notable achievement of the government is providing good governance and fighting corruption. 'Today, from the peon to the IAS officer, no corrupt official is safe in the state,' he said, adding that those who commit corruption will go to jail—there is no second option. Majhi claimed that his government has demolished the artificial barrier between the common man and the government, stating that today, anyone can meet their Chief Minister and Ministers without any hindrance. In the last year, the Chief Minister said he had visited every district of Odisha, meeting lakhs of people directly, listening to their problems, and sharing their joys and sorrows. 'Today, the 'third floor' (power corridor) is coming to the doorsteps of the people—this is a new aspect of our good governance,' he stated. Majhi further said they proved in the first cabinet that 24 years of governance is not needed for public service; a lot can be done in 24 minutes, referring to the four major decisions taken minutes after his swearing-in ceremony. The Chief Minister said that by 2026, they will provide piped drinking water to 90 percent of the people of the state and houses under the Antyodaya Griha Yojana to five lakh people. He claimed that the government has provided about 28,000 government jobs in one year and added that this year, another 40,000 government jobs will be provided. The Chief Minister thanked the media for playing an important role in informing the public about the government's programs, successes, and various issues pertaining to the people of the state.
