Tirupati, Rajampet MPs take part in ‘Vennu Potu Dinam' at Sarvepalli
Rajampet MP Midhun Reddy and Tirupati MP Maddila Gurumurthy along with former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy's daughter Kakani Pujitha participated in the 'Vennu Potu Dinam' at Sarvepalli on Wednesday. A rally was held from Venkatachalam-Sarvepalli Road to the MRO office.
On the occasion, Mr. Gurumurthy said, 'The Alliance government came to power by making false promises to the people. The fraudulent promises made by the leaders of coalition parties will burn their government like fire in the coming days.'
He further said, 'The YSRCP activists and leaders are being harassed with illegal cases to divert people's attention from election promises, and there is no need to be afraid of such cases. More protests will be organised against the government's failures in the future.'
In Nellore, 'Vennu Potu Dinam' programme was organised under the leadership of YSRCP city In-charge and MLC Parvathareddy Chandrasekhar Reddy. He started the rally by paying homage to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar by garlanding his statue at VRC Centre.

Andhra Pradesh government comes under fire for not appointing GVMC Commissioner
The NDA government has come under severe criticism over the non-appointment of a Commissioner for the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) for the past four months. Not just the members of the opposition, even some NDA leaders expressed displeasure over the GVMC not having a chief over hundred days, during the council meeting organised by the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) on Friday. Corporators of the YSRCP staged a protest in front of the Mayor's podium. They alleged sheer negligence by the NDA government over the municipal corporation. They argued that the prolonged absence of a GVMC chief has significantly disrupted the corporation's functioning. They also criticised that the non-appointment of Commissioner reflects the interest of the NDA government on Visakhapatnam. Rajya Sabha member Golla Babu Rao and YSRCP floor leader Banala Srinivasa Rao expressed dissent, stating that lack of a Municipal Commissioner is affecting the civic administration. They also found fault with burdening the District Collector with additional GVMC administration workload. They also urged the Collector to somehow dedicate two hours 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the corporation to address civic issues. Visakhapatnam North MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju also supported the statements of Mr. Golla Babu Rao. He said the civic body should pass a resolution seeking appointment of a Municipal Commissioner. With Visakhapatnam set to host the International Yoga Day celebrations, likely to be attended by the Prime Minister, he emphasised the urgency of having a full-time Municipal Commissioner in place to oversee preparations. Stormy affair The council meeting held on Friday, was the first for this year and also after the NDA taking over the positions of the Mayor and the Deputy Mayor. The council was stormy affair witnessing intense debates with heated arguments being exchanged between the YSRCP and the NDA leaders. YSRCP Deputy Mayor K. Satish and Mr. Banala Srinivasa Rao accused the administration of ignoring their development proposals. They alleged that projects proposed by them in their wards were excluded from the planning agenda, with preference being given to those recommended by NDA MLAs. There was strong response from the corporators from the JSP. JSP floor leader B Vasantha Lakshmi claimed that during the previous YSRCP government, proposals from certain YSRCP leaders such as K.K. Raju and V. Vijaya Sai Reddy, who held no official positions in the corporation, were given preference to those of NDA corporators. Responding to the JSP corporators, Mr. Banala Srinivasa Rao pointed out that, according to the GVMC Engineering wing, six of the 10 wards that saw the most development in the past four years were represented by TDP corporators, suggesting a balanced approach during the YSRCP's tenure. Heated arguments were exchanged when some of the YSRCP corporators questioned presence of former MLA Peela Govinda Satyanarayana in the council. They recalled that earlier, the TDP corporators questioned the presence of YSRCP MLC Varudu Kalyani in the council. The GVMC Secretary immediately clarified that Mr. Satyanarayana, now holding a post of Chairman of AP Urban Finance & Infrastructure Development Corporation, had received formal permission from the government to attend the council meeting.

YSRCP activist tries to end life over ‘police harassment'
A businessman and YSRCP activist from Pedda Nemalipuri of Rajupalem mandal in Palnadu district tried to end his life allegedly owing to harassment by police and TDP leaders. The man, Gutha Lakshminarayana, is currently in the ICU at a hospital in Piduguralla. Former Gurazala MLA Kasu Mahesh Reddy condemned the authorities' actions, alleging that Lakshminarayana, a YSRCP supporter from the Kamma community, was summoned to the Sattenapalli DSP office, where he was subjected to severe mistreatment and verbal abuse by the police. Mr. Mahesh demanded an immediate end to the 'Red Book' governance and urged adherence to the Constitution, warning that failure to do so could lead to unrest in Andhra Pradesh. 'Are members of the Kamma community are barred from supporting the YSRCP or being admirers of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy?' he asked. He called for swift action against the officials responsible for this incident and emphasised that such events must not recur. NATO's dilemma: how Zelenskiy can attend summit without provoking Trump
* Alliance yet to say whether Ukrainian leader invited to summit * Allies' caution reflects desire to avoid upsetting Trump * Europeans anxious to keep U.S. security commitment BRUSSELS, - Officials organising a NATO summit in The Hague this month are expected to keep it short, restrict discussion of Ukraine, and choreograph meetings so that Volodymyr Zelenskiy can somehow be in town without provoking Donald Trump. Though the Ukrainian president is widely expected to attend the summit in some form, NATO has yet to confirm whether he is actually invited. Diplomats say he may attend a pre-summit dinner but be kept away from the main summit meeting. Whether the brief summit statement will even identify Russia as a threat or express support for Ukraine is still up in the air. The careful steps are all being taken to avoid angering Washington, much less provoking any repeat of February's White House blow-up between Trump and Zelenskiy that almost torpedoed the international coalition supporting Kyiv. NATO's European members, who see Russia as an existential threat and NATO as the principal means of countering it, want to signal their continued strong support for Ukraine. But they are also desperate to avoid upsetting a volatile Trump, who stunned them at a summit seven years ago by threatening to quit the alliance altogether. If Zelenskiy does not attend in some form, it would be "at least a PR disaster", acknowledged a senior NATO diplomat. Since Russia's invasion three years ago, Zelenskiy has regularly attended NATO summits as the guest of honour, where alliance members pledged billions in weapons and condemned Russia for an illegal war of conquest. Leaders repeatedly promised that Ukraine would one day join NATO. But since Washington's shift under Trump towards partly accepting Russia's justifications for the war and disparaging Zelenskiy, the 32-member alliance no longer speaks with a single voice about Europe's deadliest conflict since World War Two. Trump has taken Ukraine's NATO membership off the table, unilaterally granting Moscow one of its main demands. After dressing down Zelenskiy in the Oval Office in February, Trump cut vital U.S. military and intelligence support for Ukraine for days. Since then, the two men publicly mended fences in a meeting in St Peter's Basilica for the funeral of Pope Francis. But mostly they have spoken remotely, with Zelenskiy twice phoning the White House on speakerphone while surrounded by four friendly Europeans Britain's Keir Starmer, France's Emmanuel Macron, Germany's Friedrich Merz and Poland's Donald Tusk. SPENDING BOOST Trump is expected to come away from The Hague with a big diplomatic victory as NATO members heed his longstanding complaints that they do not spend enough on defence and agree a much higher target. They are expected to boost their goal for traditional military spending to 3.5% of economic output from 2%. A further pledge to spend 1.5% on related expenses such as infrastructure and cyber defence would raise the total to 5% demanded by Trump. But the summit itself and its accompanying written statement are expected to be unusually short, minimising the chances of flare-ups or disagreements. A pledge to develop recommendations for a new Russia strategy has been kicked into the long grass. Meanwhile, Zelenskiy may have to be content with an invitation to a pre-summit dinner, hosted by Dutch King Willem-Alexander, diplomats say. Unlike at NATO's previous two annual summits, the leaders do not plan to hold a formal meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council, the official venue for talks between the alliance and Kyiv. The senior NATO diplomat said a working dinner with either foreign ministers or defence ministers could instead serve as an NUC. 'PROPERLY REPRESENTED' On Wednesday, NATO boss Mark Rutte said he had invited Ukraine to the summit, but sidestepped a question on whether the invitation included Zelenskiy himself. After meeting Rutte on Monday, Zelenskiy said on X that it was "important that Ukraine is properly represented" at the summit. "That would send the right signal to Russia," he said. U.S. and Ukrainian officials did not reply to questions about the nature of any invitation to Ukraine. Some European countries are still willing to say in public that they hope to see Zelenskiy invited as the head of the Ukrainian delegation. Estonian Defence Minister Hanno Pevkur said he would like to see a "delegation led by President Zelenskiy". Asked about an invitation for Zelenskiy, German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius said "I, for my part, strongly welcome the invitation" without giving further details. But diplomats have tried to play down the importance of the formal status of Zelenskiy's role: "Many allies want to have Zelenskiy at the summit, but there is flexibility on the precise format that would allow his presence," said a second senior NATO diplomat. A senior European diplomat said: "We should not get stuck on 'NUC or no NUC'. If he comes to the leaders' dinner, that would be the minimum."
