‘For the ones who know football' – Lamine Yamal sends message to Barcelona teammate after Benfica
Barcelona star Lamine Yamal has sent a message of appreciation the way of teammate Dani Olmo, on the back of the club's latest outing.
Both Lamine and Olmo of course featured from the off on Tuesday night, as Barcelona welcomed Benfica to Catalunya's capital for a Champions League Last-16 clash.
When all was said and done, the Blaugrana emerged on the right side of a 3-1 result, to book their spot in the competition's quarter-finals by way of a 4-1 aggregate triumph.
And whilst it was the likes of Raphinha and Lamine who took the headlines post-match owing to respective standout performances, the latter was quick to highlight the efforts of another member of Hansi Flick's squad as being of a top level, too.
Taking to his official Instagram account, Lamine responded to Dani Olmo's latest post, by writing:
'You play for those who know football.'

FC Barcelona Responds To Premier League Interest For First Team Star
FC Barcelona has responded to another offer from Premier League giant Chelsea for one of its star ... More players in Fermin Lopez according to Mundo Deportivo, which cited anonymous sources. FC Barcelona has responded to another offer from Premier League giant Chelsea for one of its star players in Fermin Lopez according to Mundo Deportivo, which cited anonymous sources. Fermin is an example to any budding professional for his work ethic and humble attitude. Often struggling in La Masia because of his inferior height and weight, he happily went out on loan to Linares while on the fringes of the Barca reserve team. Playing at a lower level ended up being a revelation for the Andalusian, who impressed then-head coach Xavi Hernandez in preseason upon his return to Catalonia and was taken on a preseason tour of the United States. Scoring a screamer in a friendly against Real Madrid, Fermin hasn't looked back since and continued to blossom under Xavi's successor Flick with protagonist performances against Bayern Munich in the Champions League among others. Becoming a domestic treble winner in Spain to compliment his Euro 2024 and Olympic gold medals for La Roja, Fermin is understandably the subject of interest from further afield. The fact that Dani Olmo pretty much has the CAM spot locked down under Flick as Fermin and Gavi battle for the rest of the minutes might make those from outside the club think they can tempt Barca into a sale, and it was reported this week by El Chiringuito that Premier League giant Chelsea has offered €70 million to try and make Fermin club teammates with his international comrade, and fellow former La Masia alumnus, Marc Cucurella at Stamford Bridge. That bid was turned down, and Mundo Deportivo also details how anonymous sources close to the negotiations explained that Chelsea has also offered a part exchange. This would entail Lopez heading to the English capital and Christopher Nkunku travelling in the opposite direction to its Catalan counterpart. Yet Barca has also reportedly knocked back that suggestion too, as the top priority of Sporting Director Deco and President Joan Laporta is to try and land Liverpool's Luis Diaz. FC Barcelona should not let Fermin go for two reasons. Firstly, we can't forget how injury-prone Olmo is, while there are also few players that come racing out of the traps with such intensity with a goalscoring threat to match for Flick.

Barcelona overtake Real Madrid in historic La Liga record after a tremendous season
Barcelona reclaimed their title as Spanish champions thanks to a tremendous campaign that saw them dominate La Liga. Barça ended the season with 88 points, just four ahead of Real Madrid. Although the table suggests a close race, there was much disparity between the quality of the two teams, with Barcelona notably beating Real Madrid four times in all competitions. Advertisement Barcelona have also beaten Real Madrid in the record books, notably becoming the highest scorer of La Liga of all time. Barcelona overtake Real Madrid in La Liga scoresheet Indeed, thanks to a stunning return of 102 goals this season, Barcelona have now scored 6,579 goals in La Liga, surpassing Real Madrid's tally of 6,561 by 18 goals. At the start of the campaign, Madrid were ahead by six goals (6,483 to 6,477), but an electric season from Barça's frontline turned the tide. The charge was led by Robert Lewandowski, whose 27 goals made him the second-highest scorer in La Liga, behind Kylian Mbappe. The Pole's performances have impressed the club, who expect him to continue leading the attack next season as well. Barcelona have emerged as a scoring machine under Hansi Flick (Photo by Juan Manuel) Raphinha and Lamine Yamal also chipped in with 18 and nine goals, respectively. Advertisement This isn't the first time Barcelona have topped the La Liga scoring charts historically — they've now done so 25 times, although Madrid have led the tally in 70 seasons. Since the arrival of Johan Cruyff in 1988, however, Barça have consistently closed the gap, overturning what was once a 139-goal deficit in the 1989/90 season. This season also saw the Clasico rivalry reach a new balance, with Barça winning all four encounters to level the all-time win record at 105-105. This is as close as things can get, and it will be interesting to see if Hansi Flick's Barcelona can take the lead next season against a Real Madrid team now led by Xabi Alonso.

Al-Nassr strongly interested in 29-year-old Barcelona ace; ready to offer ‘more than double' salary
Andreas Christensen's future remains one of the few unresolved issues Barcelona are aiming to address in this transfer window. The 29-year-old defender's contract expires in 2026 but there has not been a renewal offer from the La Liga champions yet even though Hansi Flick and his staff appreciate him greatly. Al-Nassr showing concrete interest Now, according to SPORT, Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr has shown strong interest in signing Christensen, offering a potential deal that would more than double his current salary. Advertisement Al-Nassr representatives visited Barcelona a month and a half ago to inquire about several players, with a particular focus on central defenders. Christensen's name came up during those talks, but the interest has only become more concrete in recent days. However, the Danish international has not yet shown any intention of leaving. Barcelona, for their part, would be open to his departure, given his current contract situation. Christensen is appreciated by the coaching staff. Flick relied on him during the final stretch of the season, once he returned from injuries. Christensen on Al-Nassr's radar. (Photo by) The German coach values his quality and versatility – capable of playing both as a centre-back and a defensive midfielder – but he is also aware that the squad is overcrowded in central defence, and an exit could help ease that. Advertisement Inigo Martinez and Pau Cubarsi are Flick's preferred starters while Ronald Araujo is also set to stay and Eric Garcia is expected to renew his contract. Jules Kounde is also an option to play at centre-back if needed and there are young academy players who could be promoted. Because of this depth, Barcelona ultimately decided against pursuing Jonathan Tah and would open the doors for Christensen's exit. So far, Christensen's priority has been to stay at Barcelona, and he has stated more than once that his goal is to see out his contract until 2026 before deciding on his future. The defender believes he will earn playing time and is unbothered by the lack of a renewal offer. The offer from Saudi Arabia could change his thinking, though Barcelona have no confirmation of that and believe he will stay.
