The Oman beach soccer team arrived to Pattaya late on Thursday to commence a short external warm up camp ahead of the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025 which will start on Thursday and will run until March 30.
At the pristine sand of the Jomtien Beach Arena located in the eastern Thai city of Pattaya, Oman team players trained under watchful eyes of the experienced head coach Talib Hilal. The team's technical programme included several training sessions over the coming days, with a special focus on attacking and defensive strategies following their recent matches against Russia and Belarus in Muscat. Oman thumped Belarus 8-5 in the second friendly match last week in Muscat while in the first warm-up game, Belarus earned a 5-1 win over Oman. In earlier short camp in Muscat, Russia team edged Oman 6-5 in the opening international friendly and they earned their second straight win against Oman national beach soccer team by 6-3 in another preparatory match. Oman's experienced beach soccer coach Talib Hilal will
finalise his starting lineup and tactical plans in the coming days before the competition begins.
Under technical guidance of Talib, The national team won a gold medal in the Asian Beach Games in 2008 and then became champions at the AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup in 2015. Furthermore, Oman were also silver medallists at the Asian Beach Soccer Cup in 2011 besides winning bronze medals in 2009 and 2019.
Oman will vie against Bahrain, Malaysia and Vietnam in Group D at 2025 AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand. The continental showpiece will also offer three tickets to the Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup Seychelles 2025 in coming May. Oman will begin their campaign in the Asian event with a match against Vietnam on March 21 and then they will meet Malaysia on March 23. Two days later, they will conclude the group stage with a match against Bahrain.

MUSCAT: The coaching staff of the national football senior team focused on enhancing players' physical fitness and overall readiness as Red Warriors began their training session on Wednesday night as part of the team's preparatory programme for the remaining matches at AFC Asian Qualifiers – Road to 26. Under the guidance of head coach Rasheed Jaber and his technical staff, the initial phase of the camp started with more highlight on fitness training sessions particularly as the domestic season has only recently concluded. After the opening training session on Wednesday at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex, the players went to the gymnasium on the following day aiming to build their physical condition ahead of upcoming tactical and technical sessions. The introductory training session on Wednesday featured participation of all the players in the squad except Seeb and Bahla players as they are gearing up for the OFA Cup final clash on Sunday. Also, the professional players will not take part in the first stage of the domestic camp due to club commitments including: Essam al Subhi (Iraq's Al Quwa Al Jawiya), and Al Mundher al Alawi (Al Zawra Club) while Salah al Yahyaei (Bahrain's Al Khalidiya SC) may join during May end. Mohsin al Ghassani (Bangkok United SC) ended his season at Thai league and he started the warm-up sessions with the national team besides the new joiner in the team, Tariq al Saadi (Spain's UE Sant Andreu SC). In the forthcoming days, Jaber and his assistant Yaqoob al Sabahi will move to technical and tactical preparations. The camp includes two friendly matches, beginning with a fixture against Niger on Tuesday in Muscat, followed by a warm-up match against Lebanon on May 28. In the coming days, coach Rasheed Jaber will move to technical and tactical preparations. These friendlies serve as critical preparation for Oman's decisive qualifiers in June. The Red Warriors will face Jordan in Muscat on June 5, followed by an away match against Palestine in Jordan on June 10. With qualification hopes reignited after a crucial 1-0 away victory against Kuwait and a hard-fought draw with South Korea in March, Oman aim to secure six points from the final two matches to raise their chances in securing direct berth to the 2026 Fifa World Cup. MUSCAT, MAY 4 Oman's goalkeeper Younis al Owaisi delivered a crucial victory to his team as he saved El Salvador's Elmer Robles' spot-kick to earn a win from penalties after a 4-4 draw on Sunday in the second match of group D games at 2025 Fifa Beach Soccer World Cup in Seychelles. The victory meant, Oman team players revived their hopes to advance into the knockout stage after their loss against Italy by 7-4 in the opening match on Friday. Oman will meet Brazil on Tuesday in a tight clash which will decide the winner of one of the two group's ticket to the next phase. At Paradise Arena in Mahe Islands, Oman team players (the runners up of AFC Beach Soccer Asian Cup Thailand 2025) began the match with more focus than the previous game as Musallam al Oraimi took the lead for Oman as he scored the opening goal in an early minute of the first period. Oman's goalie Younis al Owaisi made a super save of Jose Batres' penalty. After few attempts, Emerson Cerna's bicycle-kick gave the equaliser for El Salvador to made it 1-1 by the end of the first period. Oman and El Salvador players in action In the following period, the opponent pressed hard as they managed to score second goal through BATRES while Yahya al Murkhi equalised from the penalty spot to make it 2-2. Andersson Castro returned his team El Salvador for second lead as he netted the third goal to end the second period leading by 3-2. Frank Velasquez raised the scoring gap to two goals as he registered the fourth goal for El Salvador in the beginning of third period. An outstanding show by Oman team players including Salim al Oraimi and Sami al Bulushi who broke the rivals defending line to score the third and fourth goal and send the match into extra-time which ended goalless. Oman team managed to earn the winning points from penalties as this victory kept Oman hopes alive to seal a berth in the knockout stage heading into their concluding group stage fixture against defending champions Brazil on Tuesday.
