Alien: Earth is the latest instalment in the Alien franchise and is set to arrive on Disney+ in just a week's time
Alien: Earth, the eagerly awaited TV extension of the iconic Alien franchise, takes its cues from Ridley Scott's seminal 1979 horror film.

Hot on the heels of last year's Alien: Romulus, the blood-curdling space thriller is back with a vengeance, offering another chilling perspective on the lethal Xenomorphs.

This eight-part series springs from the creative genius of showrunner Noah Hawley, celebrated for his work on Fargo and Legion, both critically lauded reinterpretations of the Coen Brothers' eponymous film and the X-Men universe.

Hawley is gearing up to unveil his latest FX collaboration shortly, with Alien: Earth set to land on Disney+ and Hulu in just a week's time, ready to send shivers down the spines of fans across the globe.
As the new series stands on the brink of becoming another streaming sensation, let's delve into what we know so far about this enigmatic extension of the Alien narrative, reports the Express.

When does Alien: Earth hit our screens?
The opening two episodes of Alien: Earth are slated for release on Tuesday, 12th August on FX and FX on Hulu stateside.
However, British viewers will have to exercise a bit more patience as the episodes will be available the following day, Wednesday 13th August, on Disney+.
The remainder of the inaugural season will then unfold episodically, with fresh episodes dropping every Tuesday in the US and Wednesdays in the UK.

So far, four episodes have been given official titles, kicking off with the two-part opener Neverland and Mr. October, followed by Metamorphosis and Observation.

Other big names include Deadwood's Timothy Olyphant as Kirsh, a synthetic, and Andor's Alex Lawther as CJ 'Hermit', Wendy's human brother and a medic.
The main cast also comprises:

Essie Davis as Dame Silvia, a human
Adarsh Gourav as Slightly, a hybrid

David Rysdahl as Arthur, a human scientist and Dame Silvia's husband

Jonathan Ajayi as Smee, a hybrid

Netflix fans warned they only have days to watch 'masterpiece' series that's 'one of the best in TV history'

The binge worthy series will be removed very soon Netflix fans have been warned they only have days to watch 'masterpiece' series that fans claim is 'one of the best in TV history'. ‌ Prison Break was a popular addition to the streaming giant's library. Whether it was dedicated fans enjoying a repeat watch or gaining brand new fans discovering the binge worthy show for the first time. ‌ It initially ran from 2005 until 2008 with a fifth season picked up years later in 2017. It was still one of the most watched titles on Netflix, with What's On Netflix reporting that 2.097 billion hours of the series were watched between July 2024 and June 2025, which equates to 153.79M views across all five seasons ‌ However, the bad news is those who have yet to finish watching it are running out of time. It will be removed from the service on September 4. A message already appears in the Netflix app informing users the final day to watch is the third. Those who want to continue, will need to sign up to a Disney+ subscription. A revival of the series is reportedly still in the works although there is no word when fans will be able to see it. That series is said to be set in the same world as the original but will feature different characters. Hulu apparently ordered a pilot in December last year. Prison Break's initial premise follows Michael Scofield, a structural engineer who deliberately gets himself incarcerated in Fox River State Penitentiary to save his wrongly convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows, from death row. Lincoln was framed for the murder of the Vice President's brother. Michael's elaborate plan involves getting a full-body tattoo that acts as a blueprint of the prison and its surroundings, and then enlisting the help of other inmates to break out. ‌ Their escape is complicated by a vast conspiracy and the relentless pursuit of law enforcement, forcing them to navigate a dangerous world to prove Lincoln's innocence and evade capture. It might only have a 61% rating on Rotten Tomatoes overall, but fans still hold it up in high regard. So much so one claimed it is "one of the best and greatest series ever in the TV History." Another added: "An absolute mind blowing series that'll keep you hooked till the end, it's every episode is like a film itself, hardly there's anytime when you'll be bored." Someone else shared similar thoughts as they commented: "An absolute masterpiece of storytelling, blending intense action, brilliant suspense, and deep emotional connections. From the very first episode, it grips you with its smartly crafted plot and never lets go. The show's pacing is impeccable, keeping you on the edge of your seat with unexpected twists and thrilling moments."

Disney bringing major TV service to all Brits in huge shake-up – but admits an iconic app will shut down after 17 YEARS

DISNEY is making some huge changes to its streamed TV offering with a new brand coming to the UK for the first time. And the entertainment giant is also planning to axe one of its apps amid the shake-up. 2 2 Hulu will be the new name for Star, the destination for non- Disney grown up movies and major TV series like The Bear and The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. The Hulu brand has been around for years across the pond in the US. Disney has been running Hulu and Disney+ as two separate apps over there but they're set to be merged next year. This will mean the end of Hulu as a standalone streaming app. However, the brand will live on within Disney as a section, much like it will in the UK when it replaces Star. US viewers will still be able to pay for separate Hulu and Disney+ subscriptions as they do currently. "Today, we're announcing a major step in enhancing our streaming offering by fully integrating Hulu into Disney Plus,' Disney CEO Bob Iger and CFO Hugh Johnston said during the company's quarterly earnings call. "This will deliver a powerful entertainment package — combining top-tier brands and franchises, general entertainment, family programming, news, and industry-leading live sports — all within a single app." Hulu is expected to replace Star outside of the US in the autumn. This will mean the six content channels available to watch on Disney+ in the UK will be: Disney Pixar Marvel Star Wars National Geographic Hulu But that's not the only big news Disney had today, as the firm also revealed it will show LALIGA matches in the UK and Ireland from next week. Customers can catch Saturday night LALIGA action live on Disney+ as part of their existing subscription. Meanwhile, Premier Sports will air all other matches, with more than 340 per season.

People say you'd 'never guess' £14 pyjamas were from Home Bargains

People are already preparing for cooler nights with cosy pyjamas from an unlikely place As autumn draws closer, people are getting excited at the thought of having cosy nights in and wearing a nice new set of pyjamas. There are many places to browse through for nightware, but one 'unexpected' retailer is proving popular—Home Bargains. ‌ Some have been blown away by the quality of the budget store's soft Disney -inspired set that has shoppers getting in the seasonal mood already - despite it still being August. Captioning her eight-second TikTok clip, savvy shopper Cassie (@misscassie.93) shared her bargain discovery and said: "Halloween has started in Home Bargains. Best believe that fleece has come home with us!" ‌ The video showed off the Minnie Mouse pyjamas that cost £14. The set, which is available to view on the Home Bargains website but not buy as it is in stores only, claims it is "perfect for comfy, magical nights in". ‌ The store adds: "Get cosy this Halloween with the Mickey and Friends Ladies Pyjamas, featuring a soft long-sleeve top and bottoms adorned with cute gold piping and a playful Minnie Mouse pumpkin design." The collection goes beyond just fashion, with shoppers quickly getting "obsessed" over throw blankets and a Minnie Mouse-themed pumpkin. There were also some non-Disney items, including a giant plush pumpkin stack, wicker baskets, and pumpkin spice-scented candles. Plenty were quick to head into the comments section and share their joy at the sight of what's coming to a store near them soon. One said: "Those PJs look lush, never guess they're a [Home Bargains] buy!" Another added: "I love everything. Can autumn hurry up already!" A third wrote: "I'm gonna be skint, need it all!" Someone else put: "I went to 2 stores to find any of these today!" And, another confirmed: "Same here, I need to keep looking as the PJs are a must!" And, someone else issued a 'complaint' to Home Bargains. They wrote: "Should be a law that you can't have one store with items and not another. If you want to sell something this fantastic, it should be in all stores at the same time!" ‌ In other Home Bargains news, shoppers have been getting ready for a cosy night in with the pleasant smell of a candle wafting through the house. One caught attention this week when the lamp-style candle was spotted for £6 in the discount shop. Facebook page Ashleigh Money Saver was among the many that shared a photo of the must-have product. The post was captioned: "The confetti glass candle from Home Bargains looks STUNNING when all lit up at night!" And, for whatever is left of summer, shoppers can grab a unique £6 bag that could pass for one worth £100. Despite what some might think about rocking a rubber bag, shoppers were thrilled to see the Originals bag, which was quickly compared to big brands like Crocs and Bogg, but without the price tag. People loved the thought of using them as beach bags, carrying essentials without the worry of sand clinging to them like typical fabric bags. Home Bargains recently shared a clip showcasing its new addition on its official Instagram page. The video was captioned: "New in and only £6—The only bag you'll need this summer!"
