Netflix fans warned they only have days to watch 'masterpiece' series that's 'one of the best in TV history'
Netflix fans have been warned they only have days to watch 'masterpiece' series that fans claim is 'one of the best in TV history'.
Prison Break was a popular addition to the streaming giant's library. Whether it was dedicated fans enjoying a repeat watch or gaining brand new fans discovering the binge worthy show for the first time.
It initially ran from 2005 until 2008 with a fifth season picked up years later in 2017. It was still one of the most watched titles on Netflix, with What's On Netflix reporting that 2.097 billion hours of the series were watched between July 2024 and June 2025, which equates to 153.79M views across all five seasons
However, the bad news is those who have yet to finish watching it are running out of time. It will be removed from the service on September 4. A message already appears in the Netflix app informing users the final day to watch is the third.
Those who want to continue, will need to sign up to a Disney+ subscription. A revival of the series is reportedly still in the works although there is no word when fans will be able to see it.
That series is said to be set in the same world as the original but will feature different characters. Hulu apparently ordered a pilot in December last year.
Prison Break's initial premise follows Michael Scofield, a structural engineer who deliberately gets himself incarcerated in Fox River State Penitentiary to save his wrongly convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows, from death row.
Lincoln was framed for the murder of the Vice President's brother. Michael's elaborate plan involves getting a full-body tattoo that acts as a blueprint of the prison and its surroundings, and then enlisting the help of other inmates to break out.
Their escape is complicated by a vast conspiracy and the relentless pursuit of law enforcement, forcing them to navigate a dangerous world to prove Lincoln's innocence and evade capture.
It might only have a 61% rating on Rotten Tomatoes overall, but fans still hold it up in high regard. So much so one claimed it is "one of the best and greatest series ever in the TV History."
Another added: "An absolute mind blowing series that'll keep you hooked till the end, it's every episode is like a film itself, hardly there's anytime when you'll be bored."
Someone else shared similar thoughts as they commented: "An absolute masterpiece of storytelling, blending intense action, brilliant suspense, and deep emotional connections. From the very first episode, it grips you with its smartly crafted plot and never lets go. The show's pacing is impeccable, keeping you on the edge of your seat with unexpected twists and thrilling moments."

Maya Jama 'offered millions for Love Island as Netflix tries to poach her
Love Island host Maya Jama could reportedly secure a lucrative deal for ITV's longtime reality show hit to prevent losing her to rivals like Netflix. The twist-filled, sunny dating show just wrapped up for another year, and the show seems to be on the up and up with some fans hailing it 'the best season ever' and their viewing figures hitting 2.5 million – higher than it has been in years. A large part of this recent success coincides with the 30-year-old host taking over as the presenter in 2023 (after it experienced all-time lows of 1.3m viewers), not only revitalising the format but also gaining 3.2m followers along the way. As such, a source told The Sun's Biz on Sunday column that ITV has paid out to make sure she sticks around. The insider said: 'Maya is a huge hit with fans and the bosses. ITV are desperate not to lose her. They're acutely aware that she's being offered lucrative work with other companies, such as Netflix. She's hugely in demand. 'Maya is proud to be part of Love Island, and bosses want her to continue with the series for the All Stars and summer format. 'It is still early days but bosses are preparing an extremely good package for Maya that she would find hard to turn down.' The package is reportedly set to include a pay cheque of £800,000 to host the main summer series plus another £800k to host the All stars. That's a told of £1.6million. On top of this, she would be paid extra for hosting After Sun. The star clearly still has a lot of love for the show as she took to social media to celebrate Toni and Cach's victory in last week's live final. 'We are one of the few shows to do our finals live and I'm so grateful for the trust because it gives so much room for silliness and iconic moments, you truly never know what will happen and I had so much fun,' she wrote in a heartfelt post. More Trending Outside of her professional life, romance is also blossoming for the TV personality as she firmly put her relationship with Stormzy, and a high-profile break-up, in the past. In June, she was seen on a very lovey-dovey holiday with her boyfriend, Portuguese footballer Ruben Dias whom she was first linked in November. View More » Love Island is available to stream on ITVX. Disney slammed over alleged character rule after performer faints at theme park and doesn't take off costume
Disney has been fiercely slammed over an alleged rule that characters may never take off their costumes... after one dramatically fainted during a parade at the theme park and still stayed in character. Earlier this week, a video that showed someone dressed up as Winnie the Pooh's Tigger suffering from what appeared to be a medical emergency at Shanghai Disneyland Resort went viral on social media. The clip showed the character laying on the floor seemingly passed out, as hoards of people stood around them using fans to try to cool them off. Later, the character was seen attempting to stand as they loose their balance and fall back again, before one final clip showed them leaning on a fellow staffer as they slowly walked off. Throughout the entire terrifying ordeal, even when the character seemed to lose consciousness, their mask was never removed. It was reported that the incident had occurred during the parade at the theme park in China last weekend, and that the employee had collapsed after suffering from 'heatstroke.' It occurred on a particularly scorching hot day, where temperatures soared to the mid-90s, and it can get even hotter inside the thick costumes. After the video began circulating on TikTok and X, formerly Twitter, many viewers were left outraged that the other workers assisting didn't take off the mask to give the person inside some air and help them cool off. 'Couldn't they remove the helmet to make him get enough air? Why did they leave the helmet?' one alarmed user asked on TikTok. 'I think they can't do that in Disneyland? I mean there's probably rule about not showing your face in front of kids and etc. or you'll get fired or something,' someone else replied. 'It's a man's life, I don't think rules are that important right now,' another person fired back. 'The fact they kept the head on just to keep the kids believing is crazy,' read a fourth comment. A fifth said, 'Sorry but I think we shouldn't be risking someone's life to keep the magic of Disneyland. Get that costume off the poor person! Kids will get over it.' 'For those wondering "why not take of the mask" they can't. If they did, the person in the suit would most likely get fired,' a different user chimed in. 'Why? Because Disney is extremely strict with their mascots, and 'cause they need to keep the magic alive for the kids. I know dumb rule...' 'Disney values their brand more than their cast members,' scathed someone else. After the video began circulating online, many viewers were left outraged that the other workers didn't take off the mask to give the person inside some air and help them cool off The Daily Mail has reached out to Disney for comment. Shanghai Disney Resort said in a statement afterwards that the performer 'was immediately taken to the nearest infirmary,' where 'staff and park nurses were quick to attend' to them, per Inside the Magic. 'The cast member is now recovering, and their health is being closely monitored,' the site added. One TikToker who goes by Mouselets online previously claimed that Disney workers portraying characters will indeed be fired if they take off their heads at any time, even in an emergency. An 'insider from the world of Disney' also previously told that the same applies to characters on Disney cruises. 'As one of the most tightly controlled brands on the planet, Disney has some very strict protocols aboard their cruises – especially regarding emergency evacuations,' the source said. 'For instance, if a Disney cruise is to be abandoned, any employee who is in costume at the time of the alarm sounding must stay in costume. 'They are not permitted to remove their heads and ruin the illusion for guests, so therefore have to navigate the deck dressed as a giant Mickey, Minnie, Chip, Dale, etc. 'Elsewhere on the ship, it's somebody's job to head to the costume store and firmly lock it up. This is to ensure that if the ship does go down, the costumes go with it. 'They don't want to risk the empty costumes getting loose and floating up to the top – leaving children traumatized by seeing Goofy's lifeless body bobbing about on the surface.'

Dramatic islands just two hours from UK that featured in James Bond and How to Train Your Dragon
Plus, a Sun reporter reveals her experience of the islands HIDDEM GEM Dramatic islands just two hours from UK that featured in James Bond and How to Train Your Dragon Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) BETWEEN Iceland and the UK are a set of fascinating islands that have been used as a location for many famous films and TV series. The incredible Faroe Islands are made up of 18 rocky islands and are an archipelago of Denmark. Most recently, the new How to Train Your Dragon film is believed to have used the islands as key inspiration for the mythical Isle of Berk. According to Guide to Faroe Islands, specifically Tindhólmur Islet was used to create the shape of the Isle of Berk. The location scout for the film said: "There was one island on the Faroe Islands that we decided we were going to mold the village on, and that was going to be the epicenter of all the action," reports Variety. The Faroe Islands feature a range of different natural colours, including muted browns and greens. These ultimately set the palette for the film's settings and a lot of the costumes too. In a recent interview, the film's director, Dean DeBlois said: "Our Isle of Berk is actually an island in the Faroe Islands. It's called Tindhólmur. "It's smaller. We scaled it up but it's the same proportion. "I'm just so blown away by how exotic and kind of rugged and exaggerated the shapes are." Tindhólmur has also featured as Neverland in Disney's Peter Pan & Wendy and in HBO's His Dark Materials. Faroe Islands: Travel Destination Another major production that chose the Faroe Islands as a filming location was the James Bond film 'No Time to Die'. Kalsoy Island features in the film as the home of a fictional lair. In the film, the spot is called Poison Island and is where the film's villain had his hideaway. The island itself features deep valleys and towering cliffs. The legendary 007 is also killed on the island, when he is blown up in a missile strike. Residents of the island wanted to commemorate the filming of No Time to Die and it being the death place of Bond, so have since erected a gravestone for the British spy. 4 One of the islands was also used in the James Bond film No Time to Die Credit: Universal Pictures On Streymoy Island, you'll find the capital of the Faroe Islands Tórshavn. Tórshavn is known for its old town and wooden houses. There is even a cathedral which was rebuilt in the 19th century. A small central shopping strip also has a number of boutique shops. If visiting the capital, there are a number of places to stay too - as tourism continues to grow in the islands. Tórshavn also makes a great base for exploring many of the surrounding villages on the island, as well as the numerous walking trails and waterfalls. Atlantic Airways offers direct flights from London to the Faroe Islands on Tuesdays and Saturdays and the flight takes just over two hours. I visited the 'other-worldly' islands a few hours from UK THE Sun's associate head of news Brittany Vonow headed to the Faroe Islands last year - here is what she thought. You've been working hard and need a break, somewhere away from the city, with plenty of nature, fresh air and birds to watch - allow me to suggest the Faroe Islands. Gorgeous gorges, majestic mountains and fantastic fjords all stretch out as far as the eye can see. There are hikes for all abilities — ranging from two-hour rambles between towns to all-day treks that take you to the most Instagram-worthy spots. The oyster catcher — the Faroe Islands' national bird chirp their hellos, while the doleful Faroe sheep watch us make our way through their stunning backyard. One such hike is the trek from the islands' capital Tórshavn to Kirkjubøur, one of the oldest towns in the Faroes which dates back to the 13th century. You can walk up and back from the towns — about two hours each way — or a free bus runs regularly between them. The local Parne bookshop is another perfect spot to take a break in after running around the mountains — and its rhubarb cheesecake is a delicious pick-me-up. In four days, my tired city spirit has been renewed by the lush Faroes, and an interest in birdwatching has been well and truly sparked. The world's first underwater roundabout located under the islands has also become an unusual tourist attraction.
