Netflix fans warned they only have days to watch 'masterpiece' series that's 'one of the best in TV history'

The binge worthy series will be removed very soon Netflix fans have been warned they only have days to watch 'masterpiece' series that fans claim is 'one of the best in TV history'. ‌ Prison Break was a popular addition to the streaming giant's library. Whether it was dedicated fans enjoying a repeat watch or gaining brand new fans discovering the binge worthy show for the first time. ‌ It initially ran from 2005 until 2008 with a fifth season picked up years later in 2017. It was still one of the most watched titles on Netflix, with What's On Netflix reporting that 2.097 billion hours of the series were watched between July 2024 and June 2025, which equates to 153.79M views across all five seasons ‌ However, the bad news is those who have yet to finish watching it are running out of time. It will be removed from the service on September 4. A message already appears in the Netflix app informing users the final day to watch is the third. Those who want to continue, will need to sign up to a Disney+ subscription. A revival of the series is reportedly still in the works although there is no word when fans will be able to see it. That series is said to be set in the same world as the original but will feature different characters. Hulu apparently ordered a pilot in December last year. Prison Break's initial premise follows Michael Scofield, a structural engineer who deliberately gets himself incarcerated in Fox River State Penitentiary to save his wrongly convicted brother, Lincoln Burrows, from death row. Lincoln was framed for the murder of the Vice President's brother. Michael's elaborate plan involves getting a full-body tattoo that acts as a blueprint of the prison and its surroundings, and then enlisting the help of other inmates to break out. ‌ Their escape is complicated by a vast conspiracy and the relentless pursuit of law enforcement, forcing them to navigate a dangerous world to prove Lincoln's innocence and evade capture. It might only have a 61% rating on Rotten Tomatoes overall, but fans still hold it up in high regard. So much so one claimed it is "one of the best and greatest series ever in the TV History." Another added: "An absolute mind blowing series that'll keep you hooked till the end, it's every episode is like a film itself, hardly there's anytime when you'll be bored." Someone else shared similar thoughts as they commented: "An absolute masterpiece of storytelling, blending intense action, brilliant suspense, and deep emotional connections. From the very first episode, it grips you with its smartly crafted plot and never lets go. The show's pacing is impeccable, keeping you on the edge of your seat with unexpected twists and thrilling moments."

When Is Prison Break Leaving Netflix & Why?

Curious to know why Prison Break is leaving Netflix? The series focuses on an engineer, Michael Scofield, who enters the prison to free his brother from a falsely accused crime. After a year of returning to the streaming platform, the show is now expected to exit the platform. Here is everything you need to know about the crime drama series' departure from the global streaming platform. Why is Prison Break leaving Netflix and when? Prison Break is leaving Netflix on January 29, 2026, due to the expiry of the agreement with Disney. The series was removed from Netflix libraries in January 2022. However, the producer, 20th Century Fox Television, now owned by Disney, decided to keep the streaming rights for most regions to Disney+ and Hulu. However, Prison Break surprisingly made a return to Netflix US. The show began streaming on Netflix again on July 29, 2024, following a licensing deal between Disney and Netflix. This deal followed a content-sharing agreement between the two networks. Besides Prison Break, shows like Lost, This Is Us, and How I Met Your Mother were part of the deal. As a result, Prison Break's five seasons, including the 2017 revival, were back on Netflix. This deal contributed to the viewership of the show, along with platform visibility. However, the deal is now heading towards its expiry. Prison Break is scheduled to exit Netflix in the US at the end of January next year. This will bring to an end the 18-month license deal between Disney and Netflix. Moreover, this is not the first time any show or film has left any streaming platform due to the expiry of its license. In the past, many popular series were taken off Netflix following license expiry. While Prison Break is slated to exit Netflix in the US, it can still be streamed on Hulu. The platform also offers a 30-day free trial for users before charging a subscription fee. ‘Prison Break' to exit Netflix soon. Here is last date to watch hit show

Prison Break , known for its high stakes storylines and iconic characters, is once again preparing to make its exit from Netflix. The fan favorite drama, which first aired in 2005, made a surprise return to Netflix U.S. on July 29, 2024, reigniting interest in the story of Michael Scofield and his mission to free his wrongfully accused brother, Lincoln Burrows. This return, however, comes with an expiration date. Part of a non exclusive licensing deal between Disney and Netflix, all five seasons including the 2017 revival are currently streaming in the U.S., but only for a limited time. According to the latest schedule, Prison Break will be leaving Netflix once again on January 29, 2026, just 18 months after its return. With no new season on the horizon, now may be the last chance to binge the full series. When is Prison Break leaving Netflix? After being removed from international Netflix libraries in January 2022, Prison Break made a comeback to Netflix U.S. in July 2024. This was part of a broader content sharing arrangement between Disney and Netflix, involving legacy Fox titles like Lost and How I Met Your Mother. However, the agreement came with an expiration date. The entire series is scheduled to be removed from Netflix U.S. on January 29, 2026, exactly 18 months after its return. This limited time streaming window offers fans a chance to revisit the series before it disappears from the platform once again. Live Events Getty Images The hit series Prison Break will be removed from Netflix U.S. on January 29, 2026. Catch all 5 seasons including the 2017 revival before they disappear from the platform once again. What's included in the Netflix streaming window? Netflix U.S. currently features the complete series, including: All five seasons (2005–2009, plus the 2017 revival) 90+ episodes, following the complex story of Michael Scofield, Lincoln Burrows, and their attempts to outmaneuver law enforcement, prison systems, and political coverups. This full run mirrors what was previously available internationally before being pulled in early 2022. Why is Prison Break only available in the U.S.? The return of Prison Break to Netflix is limited to the United States due to regional licensing restrictions. Since Disney now owns 20th Television (which produced the show), the company has chosen to keep streaming rights for most regions under its own platforms Disney+ and Hulu. So, while American viewers get temporary access on Netflix, international fans will need to turn to Disney+ (or Star on Disney+, where applicable) to watch the series. Is Prison Break season 6 happening? Despite recurring fan buzz, there is no Season 6 featuring the original cast. The 2017 revival served as a final chapter. Both Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell confirmed they won't return. However, a reboot is in development at Hulu, set in the Prison Break universe with a new cast and storyline, written by Elgin James (Mayans M.C.). Why was Prison Break added back to Netflix? The 2024 return of Prison Break to Netflix reflects a broader shift in Disney's strategy. To drive viewership and maximize revenue, Disney temporarily licensed several older, high performing shows like Prison Break, Lost, and This Is Us to Netflix U.S., even while keeping them available on Hulu and Disney+. This non-exclusive deal helps boost platform visibility without removing content from Disney's in house services. FAQs Q1. When is Prison Break leaving Netflix U.S.? A1. Value Scope: Each way horseracing tips for Royal Ascot on Thursday on ITV

Two days down, three to go, our in form tipster has run the rule over the action for Ladies Day at Royal Ascot and is particularly keen on a runner in the King George V Stakes Go into the King George V Stakes battle with a GUNSHIP (3.05) on your side. The form of all four of his races is extremely solid. He beat Merchant – one of today's rivals – on Newcastle's all-weather track in December and he chased home useful Michael Scofield under a penalty at Southwell. His handicap debut third behind another of today's runners - Sing Us A Song – at Sandown was better than it looked as he came from further back than ideal. ‌ The way he brushed aside dual subsequent winner War Hawk at Southwell last month suggests he is improving at a rapid rate and the step up to 1m4f for the first time should help. Have 2pts each-way at 9-1. Sky Bet is paying out on six places. ‌ ICEFORD (5.00) has been progressing nicely and he looks just the right type for the Britannia Handicap. Johnny Murtagh's Irish raider came good at the sixth attempt when getting on top of Shameful in the closing stages of a competitive 7f Curragh handicap last month. The step up to a mile in this big-field handicap will suit him perfectly. Have 1pt each-way at 25-1. Plenty of firms are offering five places. William Haggas has only had one previous runner in the Hampton Court Stakes in the last ten years. That was Mohaafeth and he was successful in 2021. ARABIAN FORCE (5.35) is a typically-progressive three-year-old from the same yard. ‌ He only made his debut little more than two months ago but he has since notched up wins at Wetherby and Salisbury. The way he sauntered clear of last weekend's Sandown winner Gladius to record a five-length victory on his most recent start was most impressive. This Group 3 will require another personal best but that is highly likely. Have 1pt each-way at 20-1. Several bookies are going four places. ‌ WITCH HUNTER (6.10) won the Buckingham Palace Stakes two years ago and he looks to have an excellent chance of regaining the trophy. He had a shot at the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot last year and he ran a cracker to finish fourth. His nose second behind Tiber Flow in the Group 2 Hungerford Stakes was another example of his class and he's had excuses in recent handicap starts. Have 2pts each-way at 16-1. Sky Bet is paying out on seven places.
