Michelle Obama shades Barack AND youngest daughter Sasha in latest podcast episode
The former First Lady, 61, was discussing raising her daughters Malia, 26, and Sasha, 24, on the latest episode of IMO, the podcast she hosts with her brother Craig Robinson.
And she was quick to take a dig at her husband, the former President of the United States, as rumors continue to swirl over the state of their marriage.
The mother-of-two opened up about their children to her guests Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, where she alluded to her husband finding one daughter easier to raise than the other.
Michelle and her guests were discussing the dynamics between siblings and parents, when she shared an anecdote from when the power-couple were raising their then-teenage girls in the White House between 2009 and 2017.
She explained that her eldest daughter Malia, now 27, would try appease her father while her youngest Sasha, now 24, did not.
'I'd say this to Barack when it comes to [our] oldest Malia, she is going to figure out who you are and what you like' and discuss it,' Michelle explained, admitting the perception was an 'unusual' trait in a teenager.
'When Malia was a teenager, it wasn't that she was going out any less or doing anything differently,' she continued,'[but] she would tell me "I'm going out this weekend, but I'm going to go in and give dad like 15 minutes."'
'She'd go into the treaty room and go, "tell me about Syria?"' Michelle recounted.
'Then she'd be like "ok, we'll I'm gone."'
'Barack would come out of the treaty room going, "I just had an amazing conversation with Malia,"' and I'm like "ok,"' she said dryly.
Meanwhile, she said her youngest Sasha was 'like a cat' and wasn't so much a people pleaser, which Barack struggled with.
'She's like, "don't touch me, don't pet me, I'm not pleasing you, you come to me,"' the former FLOTUS explained.
'Barack's like, well, "she's difficult," and I was like "no, the first one was a pleaser, right?"
She added that her daughters still have the same 'temperament.' Both have kept an extremely low profile since leaving the White House and have not commented on their mother sharing family secrets.
It's not the first time Michelle has discussed the differences between the couple's parenting techniques, often opening up on her podcast about their struggles.
In July, she told guests Julia Louis-Dreyfus she had a stern conversation about what kind of father he was going to be immediately after he was elected President of the United States in 2009.
She explained that she told her husband he had to get their daughters' school used to the President of the United States being at events - and that she wanted him to still be as engaged with this daughters' lives as he was before he took office.
'It was like, "no, you got to go to parent-teacher conference" - and he wanted to go,' Michelle told Julia and Craig.
She stated that even if he was not necessarily required to go, she still expected him there.
'You have to get the school normalized to you being the type of engaged parent that you were before election night,' she recalled telling Barack. 'And you were the father that went to parent teacher conference, you were the father that would coach your girls' basketball game league,' she recounted.
In June, the devoted mom took another jibe at her husband of 33 years, confessing that she was glad the pair never had a son because he would have been just like her husband.
'I'm so glad I didn't have a boy... he would've been a Barack Obama,' she joked to her brother, Craig Robinson and radio host Angie Martinez.
Michelle previously opened up about her relationship with her two daughters admitting they started 'pushing away' from her and her husband when they were teenagers.
The mother-of-two explained that she believes her daughters distanced themselves because they wanted to 'distinguish themselves' from their famous parents as they became adults
The remarks comes amid swirling rumors about the state of the power couple's marriage.
In July, the pair - how have been married since 1992, finally addressed the state of their marriage - after months of speculation that the couple's relationship is on the rocks.
The Obama's wasted no time in addressing the rumors of their separation when he appeared on IMO.
'What, you guys like each other?' Robinson joked, before Michelle replied: 'Oh yeah, the rumor mill.'
'She took me back!' Obama light-heartedly chimed in, adding: 'It was touch and go for awhile.'
But Michelle's continued outpourings about her husband and children have done little to quell the rumors.

Married hotel CEO kissed and molested terrified female manager at Justin Timberlake concert, lawsuit alleges
A married hotel CEO in Michigan allegedly groped and kissed a female employee during a company outing to a Justin Timberlake concert. Asad Malik, the CEO of the Amerilodge Group, which owns and manages multiple hotel chains in the Midwest, has been accused of sexual harassment, assault, and battery by his former employee, Stephanie Starling. Starling alleges that while at the concert in February, Malik told her that he wanted a kiss, adding, 'bet it would be a good kiss too. Probably later tonight.' Starling nervously laughed in response to the unwanted attention, but Malik allegedly kept pursuing her. The CEO later came up to her, standing silently, and allegedly told her that he was 'just looking at her lips' and thinking of the kiss, according to the lawsuit. In reaction to the stunning comments, Starling quickly found her supervisor and general manager, pleading with them not to leave her side to avoid being alone with Malik. However, later that night, she found herself seated next to Malik after he squeezed into a booth to be next to her. Malik then 'slid his hand under her right thigh and touched her butt,' according to the lawsuit. Starling was terrified after the encounter and was 'noticeably trembling in fear' while she tried to eat. Starling escaped the situation by excusing herself to go to the bathroom. When the show began and the group went to their seats, Malik allegedly attempted to get Starling to sit next to him. When Starling's general manager sat with her instead, Malik was 'visibly angry with the situation,' the lawsuit states. While in the bathroom during the concert, she called her father in tears, begging him not to call the police. He then allegedly drove to a dark area and told her it was 'time for that kiss.' Starling rejected the advances, which made Malik agitated, and he pressed her about why she wouldn't kiss him. She demanded to be taken back to the hotel and threatened to walk back to the snow if he didn't drive her. When she returned to work at the Marriott in Bay City, Starling notified HR and was told that a third party would investigate her accusations. Starling met with an attorney virtually to explain what happened, but alleges that the company never followed up about her complaint. While she continued working, she noticed coworkers were gossiping about the investigation. Starling called her supervisor, crying, and soon after noticed that her company email was revoked. She was then instructed to submit an official resignation letter, despite having informed HR that she had no intention of quitting. Not even a month after the concert, she received an email that HR was 'upholding her resignation.' She was later informed that the third-party investigation couldn't substantiate her claims. Starling's attorney, Jack Shulz, told Daily Mail that he sees the comparisons between her story and the viral video of the Astronomer CEO Andrew Byron and his HR chief, Kristin Cabot. 'Although a lot of the focus is the comparison to the deplorable acts of this CEO and that of the Astronomer CEO at the Coldplay, a harder look should be given to the acts of the two human resources departments, which are present themselves as being neutral and having open doors to employees,' he said. 'Here, Starling and others immediately reported the incident, HR acted to protect the company, and she was terminated for speaking up. Both cases demonstrate that HR is in bed with the company---literally and figuratively.' Starling told the Detroit Free Press that she was offered a settlement payment, calling it 'hush money.' 'You're not going to put a price tag on me, she added. 'I do have the balls to speak up — and it's not okay.' The company stated in a filing with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission that Malik denied the claims, and no one witnessed the alleged assault.

Trump calls for Fed board member to quit in fresh attack on central bank
Donald Trump has demanded a Federal Reserve governor resign over fraud allegations in a fresh attack on the independence of America's central bank. On Wednesday, Mr Trump called on Fed member Lisa Cook to quit after claims from Bill Pulte, the federal housing finance agency chief and a key Trump ally, that Ms Cook had committed mortgage fraud. Mr Pulte, a leading critic of the Fed and its chairman Jerome Powell, said he had sent a criminal referral letter to Pam Bondi, the attorney general, demanding an investigation into allegations that Ms Cook falsified documents and claimed two properties as her primary residence. In response, Mr Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social: 'Cook must resign, now!!!' Mr Pulte, who is in charge of America's mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, is a staunch Trump supporter who has become one of Mr Powell's loudest and most aggressive critics. Mr Pulte has written dozens of posts on X criticising Mr Powell's decision to hold interest rates, claiming the Fed's renovation was 'riddled with fraud' and accusing Mr Powell of 'conducting economic warfare against America'. The president's demand is the latest attack on Fed independence after Mr Trump spent months hurling criticism at Mr Powell for keeping interest rates high. The president has repeatedly called Mr Powell a 'numbskull' and 'Mr Too Late' for failing to cut rates and has several times threatened to oust him. Mr Trump's attacks have triggered widespread warnings over the Fed's ability to operate independently from government interference and jitters in the bond market. Ms Cook, who was appointed by former president Joe Biden, has so far voted in line with Mr Powell to keep interest rates on hold at every federal open market committee (FOMC) meeting since December. Her potential departure from the board would open up another opportunity for Mr Trump to appoint an ally who would favour interest rate cuts. Dissent against Mr Powell is rising at the Fed. The last FOMC meeting at the end of July saw two board members – Christopher Waller and Michelle Bowman – vote for an interest rate cut. Both Mr Waller and Ms Bowman are in the running for Mr Trump's pick to replace Mr Powell, whose term as chairman expires in May. This month, Mr Trump nominated Stephen Miran, the chairman of his council of economic advisors, as a temporary board member to replace Adriana Kugler, who announced she was stepping down before her term was due to expire in January. Mr Miran's nomination needs to be approved by the Senate, but it is feasible that he could be in place in time for the Fed's next interest rate decision on Sept 17. Investors are betting that Mr Powell and the rest of the FOMC will favour a September cut after surprisingly bad jobs data suggested that the American economy is weaker than previously thought. Mr Trump and Scott Bessent, the treasury secretary, are in the process of choosing a permanent replacement for Ms Kugler on the board and become Mr Powell's replacement as chairman.
