Guinness Nitrosurge Device for 'luxury pints' slashed on Amazon for Father's Day

Daily Recorda day ago

"Perfect results everytime, worth the investment if you want a luxury pint o'th black stuff at home."
Father's Day is fast approaching, and with it comes the scramble to buy an appropriate gift that your dad will actually like, which is often easier said than done. But luckily for Guinness-mad dads, Amazon has slashed the price of a Nitrosurge device that 'puts the power of draught in your hands', allowing stout lovers to enjoy a smooth pub-standard Guinness straight out of the can.
Just in time for the big day this Sunday, June 15, the Guinness Nitrosurge Device usually retails at £30 on Amazon, but has been cut by 23 per cent to £23 for a limited time only. The rechargeable device attaches to the top of a can of a special Nitrosurge Guinness, using ultrasonic technology to provide a smooth pour as if on draught.
The waterproof device is easy to clean and small enough to take out and about, making it easy to enjoy a pub-quality Guinness outdoors or at home. Created by Guinness innovators, designers, and taste experts, the product claims to bring the iconic two-part pour anywhere at any time- even if the pub's shut.
The product fits onto the top of an open Guinness Nitrosurge can and works via a button on the device.
For those browsing alternative Father's Day ideas, Argos offers a 3-pack of Guinness socks for just £8 if shoppers are on a budget.
Debenhams also offers an Ireland Guinness Fathers Day T-Shirt for £21.99.
But shoppers are loving the discounted Nitrosurge product, which has achieved an overall rating of 4.5 stars out of a possible five.
One happy shopper said: "From what I've used so far it works great, 10x better than the normal can and very similar to what you would get in a pub."
Another said: "I now pour better Guinness than most pubs! This gadget is great, but lookup online how to make the perfect pour as it can be hit and miss if you don't know what you're doing.
"Make sure you tilt it back on itself when you pour holding your glass at an angle. Bring the nozzle to almost touching distance of the glass but don't let it touch.
"Straighten up right at the end of the first poor, then stop and put it down. Light goes off, wait a good minute, then top up. Note the light is supposed to go off for the 2nd pour."Perfect results every time, worth the investment if you want a luxury pint o'th black stuff at home."
However, one customer wasn't as pleased, saying: "Don't bother with this. It doesn't make a noticeable difference. Mine only worked three times then stopped charging up. Guinness support weren't very helpful.
"I now have a Guinness paperweight."
One drawback of the product is that it's only advertised to function with special Nitrosurge cans of Guinness, but one reviewer said piercing the top of a normal can with a pin allows them to use standard Guinness cans.
They said: "I thought it would be just be another gimmick however this is far from it! Using this makes the perfect pint just like it's been poured from the pub!
"I don't buy the nitro surge cans, I just buy the normal cans and pierce the top with a board pin.. Google it if not sure but saves you money compared with the nitrosurge cans..
"Definitely recommend for a smooth creamy pint of the black stuff."
The Guinness Nitrosurge product can be purchased on Amazon now.

Leading beauty retailer triggers frenzy with 75% close down sale as it shuts location in days

Ulta Beauty is offering massive discounts at its soon-to-be closed store in Illinois. The retailer is set to close its Chicago store in the Roosevelt Collection Shops area on Saturday after 12 years. Because of this closure, shoppers are rushing to purchase select items available for up to 75 percent off. The beauty chain has not said why this location is closing, but the company has admitted to not being 'immune' to economic pressures. 'Value is an increasingly important priority as they navigate ongoing wallet pressures,' Ulta Beauty CEO Kecia Steelman said in a statement. Factors playing a part of these financial challenges include the growth of online shopping, same-day delivery expectations, and tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump. The chain is also facing heavy competition with retailers like Sephora and Bluemercury and e-commerce giants such as LovelySkin and Amazon. Despite the challenges, Ulta Beauty will continue operating over 1,450 locations worldwide after the store closure. Select products are on sale at the soon-to-be-closed for up to 75% off Sales on particular Ulta Beauty products have slowly dipped, and the chain has had a 7 percent decline in customer visits per quarter. However, the chain finished off its first quarter with a significant rise in revenue. The chain's net sales increased by 4.5 percent to $2.8 billion, and its comparable sales rose 2.9 percent. The company credited its comparable sales growth and new store contributions for its 'stronger-than-expected performance.' Steelman also noted the chain's Ulta Beauty Unleashed plan has also played a part in the improvement. 'Our Ulta Beauty Unleashed plan is resonating with guests, energizing our team, and fueling growth' The operating environment is fluid, and our outlook reflects uncertainty around how consumer demand could evolve,' Steelman said. 'We believe our model uniquely positions us to win, and we will continue to focus on serving our guests while staying agile as we move through the year.' Some of the new enhancements that are part of the plan include C-suite appointments and various digital and store upgrades. Ulta Beauty is planning to grow and has managed not to experience mass closures this year. However, some popular retailers weren't so lucky. Torrid recently announced its plan to shutter up to 180 stores following its latest sales decline. Pharmacies have also been suffering financial challenges. Rite Aid is planning to permanently close 111 stores after filing for bankruptcy for the second time. Customers have also gotten makeup and various beauty products from Forever 21, the now-defunct chain that shuttered all stores by last month. Other retailers offering beauty products while hanging on by a thread include Macy's, JCPenney, and Neiman Marcus.
