NANO Nuclear Announces Opening Keynote Presentation and Platinum Sponsorship at the Upcoming Reuters Events: SMR & Advanced Reactor 2025 Conference
NANO Nuclear Energy Chief Executive Officer James Walker will lead the opening keynote presentation titled, 'The Growth of U.S. Advanced Reactors -- Wall Street's Success Story' at 9:00am on May 12th. In the presentation, he will explore how U.S. policy shifts, global energy demand, and the availability of clean energy focused investment capital are hastening the commercialization of advanced nuclear reactors, including small nuclear reactors (known as SMRs) like those being developed by NANO Nuclear, and how NANO Nuclear capitalized on these trends to become the best performing initial public offering in the U.S. of 2024.
'Reuters Events offer a valuable opportunity to engage with stakeholders and leading innovators in the SMR and advanced reactor field,' said James Walker, Chief Executive Officer of NANO Nuclear. 'I'm excited for NANO Nuclear to be the leading sponsor and to personally participate in this year's conference to discuss NANO Nuclear's journey and mission, and gain insights from the broader community shaping the future of nuclear technology.'
Reuters Events: SMR & Advanced Reactor 2025 is the only senior-level meeting point for the SMR community, where 600+ leaders from utilities, financiers, reactor developers, technology providers and regulators unite to create meaningful connections, share trusted insights, and obtain lessons-learned to inform your multi-billion-dollar strategy at pace.
'This conference unites some of the most forward-thinking innovators in the advanced reactor space,' said Professor Massimiliano Fratoni, Senior Director and Head of Reactor Design of NANO Nuclear. 'It's an excellent forum to learn about the direction of the nuclear industry and exchange ideas with those driving progress. I'm looking forward to the informative sessions on offer.'
'NANO Nuclear is executing on schedule, and we expect the next 12 months to include several important regulatory and operational milestones that will help secure our leadership in the U.S. microreactor race,' said Jay Yu, Founder and Chairman of NANO Nuclear. 'The achievement of these milestones would be key as we advance toward construction, demonstration, regulatory licensing and eventual commercialization and deployment for our cutting-edge reactors. I look forward to discussing our progress with investors and industry peers at the upcoming Reuters SMR & Advanced Reactor Conference.'
A replay of Mr. Walker's presentation if produced by Reuters Events: SMR & Advanced Reactor 2025 will be available on NANO Nuclear's website for at least 30 days following the presentation at https://ir.nanonuclearenergy.com/news-events/events.

1 Green Flag for Costco Wholesale Right Now
Key Points Price-sensitive shoppers are more likely to choose Costco over Walmart and Target if tariffs fuel inflation. This thesis is a relative edge, not a super-positive windfall. 10 stocks we like better than Costco Wholesale › Stiff and unpredictable tariffs aren't exactly good news for retail giant Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ: COST), but they could actually help the company in a relative way. Here's why I would call the spiking tariffs a green flag for Costco and its shareholders. Tariffs aren't great for Costco, but even worse for its rivals I don't think you'll see Costco's management tout the tariffs as helpful any time soon. The company's focus on selling high-quality goods at a low price is strictly opposed to rising and unstable item prices. Indeed, management spent a lot of time on the last earnings call discussing Costco's tariff mitigation efforts, but never even suggested that the trade tensions could be a net positive catalyst for the company. At the same time, I see several ways this global trade environment might work to Costco's benefit. You see, this particular type of pressure is best met by some of Costco's strongest qualities: Its scale lets Costco push vendors to absorb more of the cost hit than smaller retailers. With fewer unique items on the store shelves, Costco can reprice and pivot sourcing faster than most. Price-sensitive shoppers will probably choose Costco more often if the recently activated tariffs result in costly inflation. The company's profit margins were always slim, but supported by the lucrative and ultra-predictable membership fees. Imagine shoppers visiting Costco (or its online store) just to compare prices against Walmart (NYSE: WMT) and Target (NYSE: TGT). These curious peeks could very well inspire more membership sales. The popular Kirkland Signature store brand can dodge tariff effects by selecting local production partners or other lower-tariff sources more often. A relative edge for Costco investors So tariffs will add to Costco's expenses and make its operations less predictable for a while. But the same effects will apply to every rival, and often to a greater and more painful degree. It's not a classic competitive advantage, but I see the current tariff trend as a green flag for owning Costco stock in 2025. Should you buy stock in Costco Wholesale right now? Why KLA Stock Dropped Today
Key Points Applied Materials just warned of a coming sales and earnings miss this quarter. China is pulling back on purchases of semiconductor manufacturing equipment -- and KLA sells nearly as much stuff to China as Applied does. Bad news for Applied Materials could be nearly as bad for KLA. 10 stocks we like better than KLA › KLA (NASDAQ: KLAC), one of a handful of large companies manufacturing equipment for the production of semiconductors, tumbled 8% through 2:40 p.m. ET Friday afternoon. The reason: One of KLA's big rivals, Applied Materials (NASDAQ: AMAT), just warned there's big trouble brewing in semiconductors. Applied Materials warns on semis Reporting earnings for its fiscal Q3 last night, Applied Materials said sales grew fine, up 8% year over year, with rising profit margins and earnings per share also up 8%. The problem, however, wasn't what Applied earned in Q3, but what it won't earn in Q4. Specifically, Applied warned it expects to earn only $2.11 per share in Q4. Adjusted for one-time items, this represents a 15% sequential decline in profit, when Wall Street was looking for an increase. Sales will decline about 8%. What does this have to do with KLA? So not great news for Applied Materials, but what does this have to do with KLA, you may ask? And well, here's the thing: Applied blamed "a dynamic macroeconomic and policy environment, which is creating increased uncertainty and lower visibility in the near term" for lowering its Q4 guidance. Applied especially highlighted sales weakness in China, which is said to be still "digesting" all the semiconductor manufacturing equipment it's already bought. In 2024, Applied did more than 37% of its sales in China, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence. KLA did a similar 33% of its sales in China. Logically, therefore, the bad news hurting Applied Materials in Q4 is going to hurt KLA nearly as much. And with KLA stock priced at a sky-high 31 times earnings, the stock has a long way to fall on bad news. All this means it may be time to start thinking about selling KLA stock. Do the experts think KLA is a buy right now? The Motley Fool's expert analyst team, drawing on years of investing experience and deep analysis of thousands of stocks, leverages our proprietary Moneyball AI investing database to uncover top opportunities. They've just revealed their to buy now — did KLA make the list? When our Stock Advisor analyst team has a stock recommendation, it can pay to listen. After all, Stock Advisor's total average return is up 1,071% vs. just 185% for the S&P — that is beating the market by 886.18%!* Imagine if you were a Stock Advisor member when Netflix made this list on December 17, 2004... if you invested $1,000 at the time of our recommendation, you'd have $663,630!* Or when Nvidia made this list on April 15, 2005... if you invested $1,000 at the time of our recommendation, you'd have $1,115,695!* The 10 stocks that made the cut could produce monster returns in the coming years.
