2026 Mercedes-AMG S 63 Will Take The Super Limo To New Heights
The current S63 E Performance that tops the S-Class range produces 791 horsepower and 1,055 lb-ft of torque from a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 paired with a 150 kW permanently synchronous electric motor on the rear axle. This allows the speediest Sonderklasse to hit 60 mph from rest in a claimed 3.3 seconds, and our spies say these figures will be carried over to the facelifted model.
We doubt any S63 buyers complained that their car was too slow, but it's also not unimaginable that AMG would extract a little more to bring the car over the 800-bhp mark. More likely, however, is that the tiny 10.4 kWh battery (delivering just 16 miles of range) will be revised to make this a more competitive plug-in hybrid. Another significant change is the addition of a tiny camera to each fender where the 'V8 Biturbo' badge would normally reside, likely part of an expanded advanced driver assist suite.

Our spies claim that the S63 will get a revised Hyperscreen dash display (the current car still uses a separate driver display and a vertically oriented center touchscreen), and they say buyers can look forward to the return of physical buttons on the steering wheel, which should be much more enjoyable to use (and more resistant to smudge marks) than the touch capacitive panels on the current model. The changes should mean a slightly different dash design, and we can probably expect a couple of new colors and leather options. The new S63 is likely to arrive for the 2026 model year, so a full reveal should happen before the end of 2025.

What top Wall Street analysts are watching in Meta's earnings out Wednesday
Wall Street remains bullish on Meta Platforms' longer-term strategy, but analysts remain watchful of how the company's artificial intelligence efforts could weigh on its second-quarter results out Wednesday. Meta shares have rallied 20% this year through Tuesday, more than twice the return in the S & P 500, as concerns about economic growth, inflation and tariffs have dissipated. Of the 77 analysts covering Meta, 63 rate it either either a buy or a strong buy. Only seven have a hold rating. While sentiment remains strong, some analysts expect Meta's recent AI spending spree and $14.3 billion ScaleAI investment to potentially overshadow second-quarter earnings. Revenue growth in the period likely slowed to 15%, down from 22% a year ago, according to LSEG. Investors will listen closely to Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg's explanation for the Instagram parent's shifting AI strategy. Take a look at how the Street is positioned toward Meta ahead of results: Morgan Stanley: overweight rating, price target to $750 from $650 Analyst Brian Nowak sees generative AI driving higher monetization and engagement levels and, eventually, faster revenue growth. Among the keys to Meta outperforming in the second half of the year are the launch of its next-generation Llama AI models and new AI products "to help the market better understand the [return on invested capital] of the recent heavy hiring and capex investments," he said. "We raise our revenue estimates 3%/6% in '25/'26 driven by better-than-expected ad checks as tariff concerns alleviated, continued GPU enabled ad innovation, and improving FX dynamics," Nowak wrote in a July 20 note to clients. "These higher top-line estimates flow through to the bottom line as we raise EPS 5%/7% in '25/'26. With these changes, we arrive at a $750 PT after rolling our valuation to mid-year." Bank of America: buy, $775 price target Analyst Justin Post's price target implies Meta shares could rise another 11% from Tuesday's close of $700. "With AI [return on investment] a key stock sentiment driver, 2Q positives could include: 1) Ad rev upside reinforcing confidence in Meta's AI ad engine, 2) strong road map for 2H ad products, 3) optimism on new revenue opportunities for AI (Llama licensing, subscriptions, etc.) With Street likely anticipating 2Q revenue upside, risks are high [that] expectations and higher expenses offset revenue revisions. Also, EU regulatory uncertainty is likely to continue," Post wrote in a note late last week. Post added that he continues to see Meta as "one of the best AI opportunity stocks, with potential revenue upside as AI capabilities are integrated into the ad stack." Jefferies: buy, price target to $845 from $790 The investment bank remains bullish on Meta, but said that Facebook Reality Labs investments should weigh on the company's near-term profit margins. Meta's ScaleAI investment and AI hiring spree could also pressure earnings, analyst Brent Thill said in a July 16 note. "AI hiring spree signals urgency, though near-term margin pressure is likely. Capex to remain elevated ($68.6B/$74.2 in FY25/26) but bullish on its LT ROI," Thill wrote, adding that new ad dollars are already pouring into Meta's mobile ad campaigns and that the company is seeing "deep engagement" across its Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp platforms. Rosenblatt Securities: buy, $918 price target Analyst Barton Crockett's price target suggests Meta shares might rally another 31% from Tuesday's close. Crockett said that Meta's free cash flow should get a boost from the tax credits for capital spending in the Trump administration's One Big Beautiful Bill Act. Meta "is spending many tens of millions of dollars to hire an all star AI staff. That spending could pose a risk to the P & L, or perhaps be a sign that CEO Mark Zuckerberg is confident in AI-driven cost savings to spend the money without blowing up Meta's cash flow," Crockett said in a July 22 note. Deutsche Bank: buy, $770 price target Meta's "AI talent war [is] center stage," analyst Benjamin Black wrote in a July 21 note to clients. "AI enhancements via Advantage+ are increasingly manifesting themselves in the form of improved return on ad spend (ROAS), which we expect will be a durable source of growth for Meta going forward, as Advantage+ becomes the default campaign-setup across more advertisers this year," Black said. "Additionally, deep auction dynamics are largely offsetting the impact of any large buyers exiting, with e-commerce spend growth on Meta accelerating in May and June, returning to pre-liberation day levels after the drop-off in April."

Wall Street firm drops bold S&P 500 call after White House trade moves
Wall Street's been marching its way back into bullish territory, but one firm just hit the gas. Analysts at Oppenheimer just dropped the loudest S&P 500 target on Wall Street, and traders are doing double-takes. With President Donald Trump cutting billion-dollar deals left and right, Mr. Market is taking full notice, but Oppenheimer thinks we're just getting started. The question now: Are they ahead of the curve or tempting fate? Don't miss the move: Subscribe to TheStreet's free daily newsletter President Trump's recent trade streak has everyone buzzing, but it seems Oppenheimer's seeing something others aren't at this point. Image source: Michael M. Santiago/Getty Images President Trump's shift from tariff escalation to trade diplomacy has effectively flipped the script on U.S. stocks. In just a couple of weeks' time, the White House locked down $1.9 trillion in cross-border agreements. That includes a massive $550 billion deal with Japan and a $1.35 trillion framework with the European Union. Related: Warren Buffett unloads $1.2 billion of this popular tech stock Drilling into the specifics of the EU agreement, it includes $750 billion in American energy exports and $600 billion in inbound investment pledges. Consequently, the S&P 500 has now climbed 28.2% since its April 8 low of 4,981, particularly on the back of the rallying heavy-hitting cyclical sectors. Industrial bellwethers like Caterpillar, GE Aerospace, semiconductor giants such as Nvidia and Texas Instruments, and telco players like Verizon are looking to take things up a notch. Trump's 15% levy on most European goods looks steep, but it has been paired with long-term clarity on trade flows and market access. Still, China remains a strategic adversary. Export controls on AI chips and upcoming legislation on outbound investments continue to weigh down the U.S.-China outlook. Beijing, while quiet, has the potential to retaliate with rare earths, cybersecurity mandates, or sluggishness in approving U.S. firms working in China. Though investors are leaning into the Trump trade rally, the geopolitical backdrop remains volatile. Oppenheimer's S&P 500 forecast has leapfrogged every major Wall Street firm, putting out the boldest S&P 500 call at 7,100 by year-end. The move follows two headline-grabbing trade deals led by the Trump administration. That's a massive turnaround from April, when President Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs led to a steep S&P 500 selloff. Since then, the index has been rallying, with cyclical stocks leading the charge. Related: Morgan Stanley names tech stock winner from One Big Beautiful Bill Act Now, Oppenheimer's chief investment strategist, John Stoltzfus, says the path is clearing. "With the announcement of trade deals (Japan, EU) by President believe that enough 'tariff hurdles' have been overcome for now," Stoltzfus wrote. He's not alone, though. Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, and RBC have all recently raised their targets, but none have gone as far as Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer also reinstated its previous $275 S&P earnings forecast, a signal that it sees healthier corporate profit growth ahead, especially if the Fed holds rates steady this week. Q2 earnings season delivers biggest upside beat since 2023 It's important to note that strong earnings are doing the heavy lifting at this point. As of late July, the blended year-over-year earnings growth rate for the S&P 500 is at a cool 6.4%, according to FactSet. That's a healthy bump from the 4.9% forecast on June 30, which makes it the biggest upgrade mid-season in over two years and the eighth consecutive quarter of bottom-line gains. Related: Billionaire drops bold housing market reset prediction So far, 80% of reporting companies have gone past consensus estimates, beating both five-year (77%) and 10-year (73%) averages. It's the best beat rate since Q3 2023, and it's not just the tech space that's seeing such numbers. Seven sectors have seen such upward revisions, led by communication services and industrials. That revision wave has a real impact. Bank of America estimates that every 1-point EPS upgrade translates into a 0.8% lift in the S&P 500. Still, the rally now faces a test. With input costs sticky and macro headwinds in view, Q3 guidance needs to carry this momentum, or valuations could wobble in the process.
