Ivy Ent moves HC against Raja Saab co-producer
Ivy Entertainment has filed a lawsuit in the Delhi High Court against People Media Factory and its directors, alleging contractual breaches related to the multilingual film *The Raja Saab*. Ivy Entertainment seeks a refund of its Rs 218 crore investment, claiming PMF failed to meet obligations such as timely completion, updates, and fund disclosure.
Agencies Delhi-based Ivy Entertainment has moved the Delhi High Court against its co-producer of the big-budget, multilingual film The Raja Saab, Hyderabad-based People Media Factory Pvt Ltd (PMF), and its directors, seeking a permanent injunction over alleged contractual breaches in the making of the film.It has alleged in its petition that PMF failed to meet critical obligations including completing and releasing the film on time, providing monthly production updates, disclosing fund utilisation, delivering agreed materials relating to the film and delaying the theatrical release multiple times.Ivy Entertainment, part of Ivy Holdings, entered into a film rights acquisition agreement and theatrical rights acquisition agreement with PMF on January 25, 2023, and March 10, 2023, respectively. Under these agreements, the media and entertainment company claims, it invested about Rs 218 crore in acquiring worldwide theatrical and non-theatrical rights along with contractual safeguards including guaranteed returns and co-presenter credits.Alleging delays and material breaches which triggered termination of the agreements, Ivy Entertainment has sought refund of the amount it had invested along with 18% annual interest.
The petition named directors Vishwa Prasad Tumbalam Gooty and Subramanya Vivekananda Kuchibhotla and post-production vendors including Deccan Dreams Animations LLP, Prasad Xtreme Digital Cinema Network, Qube Cinema Technologies and UFO Moviez, seeking directions to them to cease any dealings with the film without Ivy Entertainment's consent.
The suit before the Delhi High Court seeks the court's intervention to restrain PMF and its directors from claiming and exploiting any rights, title or interest in the film.Ivy Entertainment has argued that it intends to finish production of the movie and release it to protect its investment.According to recent updates, The Raja Saab is expected to be released in January 2026. The film, which is a horror-comedy and stars pan-India star Prabhas, has a massive budget of more than Rs 400 crore. It was expected to compete with big Hindi films such as Dhurandar and Romeo in December this year.Producers are of the view that the delay in the film's release might actually benefit the film as it would reduce competition and boost box-office collection.'The solo release of The Raja Saab will benefit the film as it reduces the competition with Hindi films. At present, two key factors work for the film. One is the film's genre. Horror comedy genre is the flavour of the season, " said producer Rajesh R Nair, known for Hindi films such as Kaminey and Adipurush. 'Another factor which works for the film is actor Prabhas' box-office appeal. He is a pan-India star given the historical record of his films at the box office. I think the film has the potential to open big at the box office as a solo release.'Ivy Entertainment has invested more than Rs 1,500 crore in south Indian films in the past three years.

Jurassic World Rebirth Lifetime India Box Office: Scarlett Johansson starrer set to end its winning run netting Rs 89 crore
Jurassic World: Rebirth, directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and others, is set to wind up its winning India run, as two big Indian movie giants, War 2 and Coolie, hit theatres. Jurassic World: Rebirth will add a few more lakhs to end up with a final net of Rs 89 crore. This is significantly higher than the last couple of Jurassic World movies - Dominion and Fallen Kingdom, while equal to Jurassic World (2015). Jurassic World: Rebirth Ends With Rs 89 Crore Net In India; Hits Rs 100 Crore Including 3D Handling Charges These collections exclude 3D handling charges and thus, the numbers may differ from what you may find in the public domain. If 3D charges are included, Rebirth stands at exactly Rs 100 crore net. Jurassic World: Rebirth Heads For A Blockbuster USD 850 Million Global Finish Globally, Rebirth heads for a USD 850 million finish (including 3D handling charges), lower than the last 3 Jurassic World movies. The last 3 Jurassic World movies hit a billion dollars each and while it is unfortunate that Rebirth is not part of the club, there's absolutely no denying that it is a blockbuster too. With a much controlled budget, it is set to end up as a more profitable venture than Dominion. Universal Has Got A Lot To Think Despite Rebirth's Blockbuster Global Performance Despite the blockbuster reception of Rebirth, Universal finds itself in a fix. The drop in collections of the Jurassic World movies is slightly concerning. There is room for higher collections for sure. If the 2015 movie could do around USD 1.7 billion and the 2025 movie is doing USD 850 million, there's definitely something that needs to be analysed. Just profits alone are not enough when the numbers are going down with every film. Jurassic World: Rebirth Is The 2nd Highest Grosser Of Summer 2025, Worldwide Jurassic World: Rebirth ends as the summer's second biggest hit in terms of global collections, only under Lilo And Stitch's USD 1 billion. In India, it's collections are just under Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning and F1 among Summer releases. If 3D charges are included, it ends as the highest grossing Hollywood film of not just this Summer but also this year. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

Coolie Vs War 2 Review, Release LIVE Updates: Rajinikanth Film Earns Rs 100 Cr; Hrithik-Jr NTR Movie Sells 4.5 Lakh Tickets
Coolie Vs War 2 Movie Review, Release Day Box Collections Live Updates: The stage is set for one of Indian cinema's biggest box office battles. Rajinikanth's much-anticipated Coolie and the high-octane actioner War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, release tomorrow on August 14, a day ahead of Independence Day. With the extended holiday weekend, both films are poised to shatter opening records. Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, arrives as Rajinikanth celebrates 50 glorious years in the industry. The film boasts a powerhouse ensemble including Nagarjuna, Aamir Khan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, and Soubin Shahir, bringing together star power from across India. Film trade analyst Ramesh Bala believes this multi-starrer format could give Coolie a strategic edge. 'Rajinikanth's pan-India appeal, coupled with Aamir Khan's strong hold in the Hindi belt, makes this a nationwide event. With five major stars, each bringing their own loyal fan base, the film could pull in massive crowds,' he said. Despite the clash with War 2, the ensemble entertainer headlined by Rajinikanth has performed strongly in pre-sales, crossing the Rs 100 crore mark for its opening weekend and selling over 12 lakh tickets on its first day. The advance booking numbers are equally impressive, with the film witnessing a tenfold surge in pre-sales after the opening of Telugu shows. According to Sacnilk, before bookings began in the Telugu states, War 2 had already registered around Rs 10 crore gross (including block seats) for its Hindi version's opening day. Once Telugu state bookings went live, BookMyShow recorded over 20,000 ticket sales per hour. War 2, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster War, marks the first collaboration between Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. Packed with slick action sequences and high-stakes drama, the trailer had promised a visual spectacle. Hrithik, who made his film debut alongside Rajinikanth, paid a heartfelt tribute to the superstar on social media: 'Took my first steps as an actor at your side. You were one of my first teachers, @rajinikanth sir, and continue to be an inspiration and a standard. Congratulations on completing 50 years of on-screen magic!' Recalling his childhood memories, Hrithik also shared, 'I used to call him Rajini uncle… whenever I messed up a shot, Rajini sir would take the blame so I wouldn't feel conscious.' Producer and film business expert Girish Johar feels the clash will benefit exhibitors. 'With such huge expectations, cinema halls will be blazing all guns. There's ample space for multiple releases during a big holiday window,' he said. Johar predicts War 2 could open to Rs 45+ crore on day one, while Coolie's wide appeal may ensure a blockbuster start. With fans thronging theatres and pre-sales hitting record highs, the Coolie vs War 2 face-off is set to be a historic Independence Day weekend for Indian cinema.
